With temperatures rising over 143°C (289.40°F) in most areas, the only relief is during the nights when it is much cooler. All travelers are advised to keep to the local towns on the desert's outskirts and avoid traveling too far from civilization. (+3 Endurance, +2 Defense)

Bog: 3

Postby Kallile » 06/19/2008 5:02 PM

Great yellow eyes reguarded Dallin harshly. "Perhaps it is you who does not value the true knowledge." He retorted. The venom levels in his fangs had dropped some--there was little threat coming from the giant beasts. He would take care to leave their precious humans alone for the time being until he had a better plan. "There is no greater knowledge than that of Wild Law. Kill or be killed. Ultimate tests of strength and cunning. In my eyes, oh great Garagnir, you are wasting away at this humans side."

The same yellow eyes darted to the blaze and purine Fenlings. He listened to them chatter about his species. He coiled the upper half of his body--to both rest and be ready to strike if needed. The lower half still rested in the ground for blood cooling and retreat purposes if the situation proved more than the proud Bog could handle. "My presence here does not concern you, little fur-beasts." He sneered in his threatening language. It did not take long for the little Fenlings to begin attacking him on his view of humans.

"Your sympathy for human kind does little to pursuade me." He chided back. Lowering his head, he opened his great mouth, letting a little acid drip from the tips of his pitted fangs. The substance hit the sand and instantly dissolved it. Bog closed his mouth back, flickering his forked tongue to rid his mouth of the acidic residue. He had a basic immunity to it, since his body produced it. However, too much could singe even his mouth. "Such large talk for such little creatures is unbecoming..."
"I have been hidden, scorned, adored, worshiped, forsaken, coveted and banished more times than I care to count. But the one thing all those experiences cannot steal from me is the gentle soul I was born with, the kind heart I have molded, and the bright ideals for the future that have lit my way through the darkness of the past."

Molly hoped that Citanul's Garagnir would translate what the Carpetfang had said. But to what Molly had heard in the Carpetfangs voice, it didn't sound like he said a good think. Molly gave a mean look to the Carpetfang, trying to say she disagreed to him. He seemed not to nice, or fond of humans.

Of course Theurge translated for the clueless humans, and for the Fenlings who may not know their language. His mind-speech was deep, sometimes a soft growl as he tried to keep the Carpetfang's words and not be biased.

Dallin rumbled lowly... He had taken a Vow of Peace, so he would not strike out... But the Carpetfang did not need to know that. "I am just as strong as ever by Citanul's side, Carpetfang. The humans have knowlage of the Wild Law. All do not abide my such things. Have you ever met a Kasuga? They walk the line between living and dead, much is to be learned from them as well. Do you find it horrible that they cannot be killed by a normal means?"

Theurge gave a low growl, watching the Carpetfang as he stepped infront of the blind Garagnir and hissed. He had taken no such Vows... "Just because you decide that all lower than you should be killed does not mean that the Wild Laws state it as such. Your interpretation is not the same as everyone else's."

Citanul was at a bit of a loss, raising his brows but looking to Molly and the Fenlings. "I don't think there will be any fighting, but you may want to keep your distance."

Molly nodded, he was right. A Carpetfang was dangerous, and if they got any closer it would most likely strike.

"Then what do we do?" Molly asked. "Do we go somewhere else?" She also asked.

The thought was a good one, because they either stood there till the Carpetfang left or they left. If they stayed there and ignored the Carpetfang, they may forget about it and the Carpetfang would be able to strike.

Bog: 4

Postby Kallile » 06/19/2008 10:17 PM

Lifting his head slowly, Bog looked towards the Garagnirs. This connection they felt towards this human...this being he or they could so easily crush...had they no pride?

"My species knows no loyalty to such creatures." He replied rather dryly. "We know loyalty only to ourselves and our own abilities."

His brilliant eyes darted up to Theurge, giving a low hiss from deep within the pit of his throat. "Killed--not always needed. However, they need know their place." He glanced down to the Fenlings, acknowledging that they had been heard.

Slowly, Bog uncurled himself a little. He heat was holding between his body, and there was little escape without retreating.

"My 'human' does not know her place either. Offering food as piece offerings. There is nothing she holds which I need or desire. Yet she persists to try and bond with me." He flickered his tongue again in irritation at the very thought of her. "I have disgraced myself enough by not poisoning her eariler. How you can live with the servitude...I know not. I feel...pity for you." He curled more completely, so his body was a massive rope sprouting from the earth. There--let the humiliation continue. He was opening his defenses. If he retreated, it would be far more humiliating that baking out there in the sun.

"We will back off a little if needed but do know we can doge very well because of our speed that was gifted to us by the Evelon gods" Moko and Ki replied in unison to their companions. The two headed to the top of the stone pilers that stick out of the sand and sat.

"There is no servitude involved here, Dallin and I remain with Citanul upon our own will, we owe him nothing and he owes us nothing." Theurge could be acting a little irrational.... But he was ready for a fight. Carpetfangs were nothing more than overgrown worms who needed to be taken down a few notches.

Trying to talk some reason into him, Dallin nudged Theurge softly with his muzzle. "You could do some good by just listening to the human, Carpetfang. You call her 'mine'... So you must feel some connection."

Citanul gave a small shrug. "If they begin to fight, then I suggest that everyone else get out of here. The Garagnir and I can handle ourselves, there would be no reason to put you in danger." He gave a rather half-hearted smile. "Besides, we can always meet again."

Bog shot the Fenling siblings a look--only slightly less malice than before. "There is little doubt that you could outmanuever me. It is when you get caught you would need to worry." The snap to his voice was fading. The sun must be baking his brains...

He returned his gaze to the Garagnirs, flickering his tongie idly. This news puzzled and angered him. There were no strings to this relationship of theirs? No bond other than by will? And had he called that wretched human "his"? His brain really was being cooked alive.

"If there is no servitude nor motives...what drives you to stay by the humans side? Knowledge? Seems a fickle thing to travel for..." His voice, though still the garbled ancient speech, was less intense now. With little immediate threat and no will to return to the cooler earth, Bog had no choice but to mellow himself and conserve engery.
"I have been hidden, scorned, adored, worshiped, forsaken, coveted and banished more times than I care to count. Theurge could see the Carpetfang backing off, but it didn't make him any less protective over the smaller creatures (and Dallin). "Knowledge is the ultimate power, Carpetfang. Find one's fatal flaw and you hold power over them. We have much to learn from all creautres, not just those of our own kind nor the laws of the Wilds. If you know nothing of what is going on in the world-"

"Theurge. Drop it. The Carpetfang can have his own opinions." Dallin interupted, shifting one of his great clawed paws to push the sand that threatened to engulf the other claws. "I for one suggest we get out of this heat, it will be too hot for even I to bear soon."

Citanul muttered something in agreement, looking to Molly, her Palowokee, and the Fenlings. "It would be a good idea, the temperature will peak soon."

Molly nodded to what Citanul said. Even though she had larned to stand the head, she would leave if her new friends needed so.

"Where ever you want to go." She said smiling.

Bog: 6

Postby Kallile » 06/20/2008 4:25 PM

The Carpetfang studied these great beasts before him, pondering their words. Perhaps they did have a motive, though sinister was something it was not. He flickered his tongue one last time, tasting the winds for cooler temperatures.

"Your logic is confusing, Garagnir." He said to Theurge. When Dallin spoke, Bog did not shift his eyes to him, merely took everything in.

"While you have interesting points..." He hissed lightly. "I know only the truth of knowledge from other creatures. By studying them...not undertaking a journey with them. Other creatures only teach how and where you can find them at their weakest moments. That is not something one shows willingly."

Puffing up the fur on the back of his neck, Bog took the oppurtunity before him to exit without retreating. "I find little point in following. Perhaps," he paused, taking a moment to glare at the two humans, ""after I have travelled on my own, we will be granted the chance to meet again. And at the next meeting, we will see who has the more true knowledge..."

In sudden motions, Bog rose off the sands. Craning his neck towards the earth he plunged through the hot sands near the group, causing a small quake to run through the earth around them. His long body quickly followed suit until his feathered tail finally disappeared down the tunnel after him. A cool feeling rose from meters under the hot surface, giving the closest members of the group a temporary burst of cool, refreshing air.

The sands were still afterwards--no rolling waves as the carpetfang left the prescence of the others (as he travelled deeply. The sand began filling in the crater he had left and that was it. The colbalt Carpetfang disappeared into the desert.

[ Bog has left the RP--thanks everyone ]

(Do we want to end this? Or what? ^^)

Theurge only rumbled lowly at all of this, leaving the Carpetfang to dissapear under the sands. "We will meet again!" He called after the cobalt-hued beast, one claw digging into the sand in anger. The blast of cool air could be felt by all briefly before the harsh temperatures persisted.

Dallin turned to the others, curling a tail carefully around Citanul to keep him still as the small quake from the shifting sands was brought to the attention of his claws. "I would suggest the same as Citanul. Even I do not appriciate the hottest part of the day. Seek some shade."

The Planeswalker nodded in agreement, giving a soft smile as he patted the great Garagnir's tail. "We shall meet again, Molly... Perhaps later in the day next time."
