Van padded merrily along, her lavender eyes flicking to and fro as she observed the wondrous place. She rarely ever left home, you see, and was very excited to be out and about again. Her tails flicked sharply every moment, showing her already evident excitement even more. Meanwhile, Quote was looking intently around him. Not in a sinister way - never would such a gentleman do that sort of thing - but he definitely had no good intentions. He made sure that his searching was not noticeable, and kept a proper appearance. He was a tad weighed down by Van’s spray – which she had demanded he carry, just in case – but didn’t pay any mind.

The two had been sent to pick up some things for the head-hancho – why Van had been sent was beyond anyone’s comprehension – but had decided they would relax for a little while. They had earned it, living with those psychos. Quote noted his paws getting tired. He grabbed Van by the scruff and gave a small tug. When she turned, he was already jumping onto a bench. With an aggravated sigh and a shake of her head, she followed suit.

Gah, horrible ending. x-x I wrote it in like five seconds. xD I didn't have much time.

At the same time Ryo left the house. His mistress had sent him to run errands – he hated it. She always sent HIM instead of going on her own. The last time he accidentally broke a little vial with a strange fluid in it – his mistress was not amused. Secretly he hoped that she won’t send him again after this incident, but he stand corrected. Surely she couldn’t send the Battleheart to run errands – that would cause too much furore – but why always HIM?


Ryo turned the next corner and entered a small place. It was kind of dark and barely visited. In the bygone days this place must have been the town square. The place was round and paved with cobblestone. In the middle was an old fountain which was pitiful dabbling. Ryo hadn’t liked this place - it was some kind of scary to him. But there was no other way for him to get to the town square. Ryo sighed.

As he crossed the place he noticed that there were others. Two Kuhnas were sitting on a bench. He stopped for a moment and considered if he should step up to them or if he rather should go further and leave them alone.

Van looked around in her boredom. Man, Quote was so lazy! She overlooked something blue for a moment, but quickly took a double-take.

Ryo? She called meekly. She looked closer, and a grin grew upon her face. Ryo! She jumped off the bench and padded towards the hydrokuhna. How've ya been? Quote looked over, ears erect. He looked carefully at the new kuhna. He determined that the newcomer was male, and thus, of no interest to him. He continued to watch, though; he had nothing better to do, really. He let out a small sigh. Why couldn't he find any ladies in this place?

While Ryo was considering if he should step up to the two Kuhnas one of them suddenly jumped off the bench. Was this Kuhna calling his name? He looked closer and he recognized that it was Van who padded up to him. “VAN!” he said happily and stepped up to her. “I’m so glad to see you again! I’m fine, thanks. My mistress finally came back home and now I have to run errands for her. How about you?” he sat down and smiled at Van.

Ryo was really glad to see her again. He had thought of her many times since they have met each other in the park. A big smile was in his face as he looked at her. Ryo’s view rambled over to the other Kuhna which was still sitting on the bench. “Who’s that?” he asked Van nodding into the direction of the bench.

Van gave a barely audible purr, her tails flowing behind her. She'd closed her eyes to allow her grin to be its best, and opened them when Ryo had mentioned Quote.

Oh, him? That's Quote. Our boss sent us on errands too! But why she stuck me with him is way beyond me! I mean, really! Just look at him!

I take great offense to that, miss. Quote protested.

That was the point. She snapped back, sticking her tongue out childishly at the flirtatious male. So, want to join us for fun, shenanigans, and overall slackery?

Slackery?

Yes, slackery. Stop being so condensing!

That's condescending, you illiterate oaf.

Stop that!

Stop being stupid and I will, madam. Van's fur bristled, tails lashing irritatedly as she glared at the arkuhna. Quote merely looked boredly at his claws.

Ryo looked at Quote – he doesn’t seem to be very enthusiastic about the fact that Van had asked him to join them but that shouldn’t be his problem. “Oh sure! I would be glad to go along with you……YOU both!” he said with a smile turned to Van. The sunlight gleamed on her velvety fur – it was so enchantingly that Ryo could hardly avert his eyes from her. He wondered if she liked him as much as he liked her and if she had a relationship with the Arkuhna. Ryo didn’t know but his heart always skipped for a moment when she looked at him. He just hoped that there wouldn’t arise any rival fights between him and Quote.

Van and Ryo stepped up to the bench where Quote was still sitting and watching them. “Well…..where should we go now? Should we first fulfil our duty or should we postpone that?”

Van's fur was still bristling, but she turned to Ryo with a small smile.

Great! She mewed. After Ryo asked them what they were going to do, she began giggling. Quote rolled his eyes in exasperation. You said duty! Ignoring her snickering, Quote turned to the aquatic kuhna, whom he caught glancing at Van for a tad longer than most. Oh, the poor child; he had no idea what he was getting himself into.

I believe, Quote proclaimed, That we should enjoy what little time we have here. We aren't going to be here forever, you know.

I wonder if she'll get mad if we stay here after-hours? She winked at Quote, a mischievous smirk on her face. Quote returned the look, his tails curling up in pleasure. What splendid ideas the girl had. This was the true relationship they shared; the bond of two wicked minds. One innocent and simple, the other complicated and merciless. Of course, the latter didn't commit crimes or anything; that was far below him.

Ryo felt a bit uncomfortable when he noticed the mischievous smirk in Vans face but this could be his chance to show his mistress that he wasn’t her poodle. “My mistress will be very angry, that’s for sure. But hey……” he shrugged his shoulders “….what would life be without a little bit fun?”


He noticed that Quote returned Vans mischievous smirk and somehow he had the feeling that they both already had an idea of what comes next. He never had resisted any instructions of his mistress and he never had been out of the house longer than the closing time. A discomfit and excitement blend broadened in his stomach but also a certain thrill of anticipation for the things he would undergo today. He did not want to miss such a chance, although he secretly hoped that his mistress wouldn’t be too strict with him when he comes back home.

Quote and Van blanched. They remembered just how crazy their mistress could get... And they also remembered that she kept axes and bludgeons in her office. But, they hadn't been out in so long... They looked at each other and debated with their eyes. Should we stay or should we go? At long last, they gave each other a nod and Van grinned at Ryo.

Great, Van purred, Let's get moving~

Hold up! Quote said, just as Van turned to scamper away. She turned to him, head cocked in question. He reached into his pouch and pulled out some cans of spray paint, instantly setting Van's eyes alight. Why leave, when we can have fun right here? He purred malevolently. It kinda creeped Van out when he did that, but she ignored it and grabbed a can. As she ran to begin her latest work, Quote pulled out a book, some outdoor paint, and several paintbrushes. He jumped daintily to the ground and headed for the wall opposite of Van's, leaving some paint and a wall for Ryo to enjoy, if he wished to join in their fun.

Ryo looked down to the ground. Right before his paws stood the paint that was meant for him – and of all colors it was violet, his favorite color. He slightly bit on his bottom lip while he weighed up the pros and cons. They could get caught and then he wouldn’t only get in trouble with his mistress. However he wanted to proof everybody that he wasn't a sissy and it was exciting to do forbidden things and risk to get caught, for sure!

Ryo remembered the time when he was a young kit. They always teased him and called him a sissy. He never had climbed up high trees or played in puddles of mud. He always used to please everybody but this would have an end now – once and for all!

He took the paint in his paw and stared absentminded at it…….then he opened the bucket and stepped up to the free space at the wall. “That looks as if it makes a lot of fun!” he said directed to Quote and Van.

It's tons of fun! You'll see! Van mewed in response. She grinned, glad that the watery male had decided to join in the fun. She stuck out her tongue and focused on what she was working on. The occasional speck of paint would fly back at her, but she paid no heed. Eventually, some flew onto her tongue. She shook her head like a dog that just got flicked on the nose. She rubbed her tongue with her paw as Quote laughed uproariously at her. She responded by throwing an empty can of paint at him - and scoring a bullseye on his head - before returning to her work. Quote rubbed his head and continued.

The two stepped back after a while to scan their works. Van nodded happily, a small smile on her face as her eyes sparkled with pride. Quote looked at his and allowed himself a small purr. Quote had painted a piece of somewhat tattered parchment, with a rose accompanying it. The stem covered up a part of a letter, which was part of a quote. It was some french nonsense that no one would ever be able to read. Unless, of course, they were French. Van had painted a fan work for a punk band. It was brightly colored, chaotic, messy, and made almost no sense. Both kuhna turned around to view each other's works. They shrugged and nodded their fake approval. Really! He/She calls that art? As if. The two began to groom themselves, not wanting to be covered in paint when they got home.

{6/15 - 6/6}

While Van and Quote already had finished their works Ryo was still painting like crazy. After a while he stopped, took a deep breath and stepped back from the wall to have a look at his work. He sighed “You can’t make out that this is a knight, can you?”

Questioned he looked to his companions but he was sure that they couldn’t make out what his picture was showing. He cleaned his paws and all other body locations where the paint had dropped onto. Ryo looked at Van’s and Quote’s pictures but he couldn’t make out what they were displaying. Sure, Quote’s picture showed a parchment with a rose and a written text but Ryo was not able to read it. Van’s picture was bright colored and a bit messy and Ryo really couldn’t say what it was about.

“Nice!” he said to his companions “I just can’t say what these pictures are about or read this text but although they look nice!” with a smirk on his face he sat down between Quote and Van “And what comes next?”

Quote huffed haughtily. Of course none of Van's companions would be able to read such a beautiful language, the uneducated dolts. His tails lashed, but before he could make a snide comment about Ryo's work, Van piped up.

I can see it! She mewed, Kinda. If I look really hard, and I tilt my head funny... There! Yeah! She righted her head and purred, reveling in her accomplishment. Quote simply rolled his eyes, a small smile on his face. Silly kit. He glanced at the sky. Not dark enough yet. His small morphed into a sorrowful frown.

Well, I dunno, He replied to Ryo's second question. It's still too early for our plan... What do you want to do? He replaced the remaining paint into his pouch. No point in wasting Keystones out of laziness, right?

{7/16 - 7/7}

[Kyarra]

Ryo laughed as Van tilted her head in a funny position and his tails flicked back and forth out of sheer joy. “Hahaha…..you're mocking me aren't you? But this looks really funny!” he had to hold his belly with his paws while he was laughing. He hadn’t had so much fun in a long time. Ryo stopped laughing as Quote began to speak.


“Erm…..good question. I have no idea! Maybe we could purchase us some food before the shops are closing. If we want to stay away the whole night we will need some food.” he looked from Quote to Van and back to Quote “I know a little tavern. We can go there and have a meal and some drinks. No one will recognize us. What do you think?” he really hoped that Van and Quote would agree to his suggestion – slowly but surely he was getting hungry.

Van giggled a bit as Ryo burst into laughter. It faded away as she looked to Ryo for any ideas he might have. When he recommended they go and eat somewhere, she nodded vigorously. She'd call herself a starving artist, if she knew about such 'refined' things. Quote shrugged.

Not a bad idea, he mewed, Lead the way. He stood back for the watery kuhna and followed him. Van pranced between the two. Quote rolled his eyes at her antics. Stop that, will you? You'll attract attention, and we don't know who's out and who's in. Van stopped with a grumpy pout. She stuck her tongue out at Quote in a childish manner, but otherwise held back any complaints.
