As the bell rang his muscles were stretched to the breaking point. Sure, he was agile and maneuverable, but his opponent was charging forward, aiming his horn on him.
Yutaka was standing in the center of the arena, staring on his opponent and trying to consider what he should do now. He had to save his soft parts from the horn, so he turned his back on Chariot, holding his spines out to his opponent and squinted his eyes shut.

Freezair's Chariot:

Rolled a 5 - HIT

Chariot does 13 (9 + 4) damage!

Yukata is defeated.

Freezair and Chariot win Round Four!

What a... stunning battle! Well, because it was random, there was no certainty about the "fairness" of the whole thing. Some pets had been pitted against stronger pets. Now they had dropped from eight fighters to four. "Well, that was a good try nonetheless!" Astrophel commented as he modified the screen board. Now to go for the second wave of rounds! "Kyarra's Yukata will receive the 5th place prize, and Freezair's Chariot will proceed to the next round, in due time." He nodded as he continued to modified the information displayed on the screen. "It is now time for the second wave. MillietheWarrior's Corr, and Pyris's Hexle; it is now your turn! This is to decide the semi-finalists. Good luck!"

Corr Skirata - Level 10, 49 Posts
(For ref: +6 posts in tournament)
Toughness: 17/100
Exploration: 15/40
Endurance: 21/100
Intelligence: 23/100
Element: Dark
Traits:Spiked Body, Puncture, Improved Combat Expertise, Life Drain

He was back up? Already? Well, technically it’d been a little while since he’d fought…Corr itched to try his skills against another opponent. He wasn’t sure how well he’d do this time around; he was still a bit sore and stiff from his last fight. But he felt pretty good, and he was pretty confident in himself. He hadn’t exactly watched the other fights either; he’d heard them, but he had no idea who had been fighting. He gave his pink fur a good shake as he lifted himself off the ground, trotting back up those familiar stairs into that familiar dome. The only outward signs it showed of the battles that had been waged inside were the claws marks and scuffs in the dirt. Corr observed them curiously, before his bright pink-orange eyes lifted to gaze across the arena. Who would it be this time? Corr couldn’t even begin to imagine.

I love adventurous tales like that. That uplifting feeling that comes from seeing unknown lands and the knowledge that you came across—nothing can replace it! It opens a path from which self-confidence, experience, and important friendships—from the sharing of life or death situations—are born! But hearing it just isn’t the same. I want to create my own magnificent story!

A great adventure!

Hexle, the Concept Draculi

Name: Hexle
Gender: Male
Color: Concept
Species: Draculi
Element: Dark
Level: 6
Loyalty: 6/40
Toughness: 10/100
Exploration: 10/40
Endurance: 9/100
Intelligence: 19/40
Righteousness: 6/40
Darkness: 9/40
Fame: 9/40
Battle Traits: Elusive Target
Personal Battle Traits: Hear the Unseen

There he was, back in the game.  He still wasn't entirely sure how he'd won the first round.  By the look of the lucain he was up against, he'd say he had a nice run for it.  Fourth place wasn't too shabby.  Not for him, anyway.  Regardless, being the knowledge-seeker he was, he was infinitely pleased to have the opportunity to observe a lucain in battle.  It would be his first time seeing it.   The opponent was obviously fairly skilled, so he was certain it would be a sight to behold, even if he lost.  Stretching a bit from his rest after his last battle, he nodded his affirmation that he was prepared for his second.

Deciding it was best to just start and get going, Hexle circled a bit before charging.  He was hoping to get underneath the lucain, since he was curious what the reaction would be.  His choice this time around would be to fight as randomly as he possibly could, just to see the different reactions he could get out of him.  He was determined to suck up as much information out of him as he could.  After all, he looked like he'd been fighting a very long time, but still seemed to be a much different type of fighter than the Kuchi Nagi from before.

The dirt beneath his paws kicked up around him as he moved, making little clouds of dust that he worried may hinder his vision.  However, he had to be pretty dang fast to get anywhere near the lucain's stomach without those pointy canines digging into him.  Not to mention he had to watch out for the pointy parts all over the creature.

Corr watched the Concept creature carefully. He’d never seen one before, and he found it very odd to watch as it moved towards him. It almost seemed see-through. The little cat-like creature was very quick, and Corr was too preoccupied trying to figure out what type of concept creature it as that he very nearly forgot he was in a battle. The dust kicked up by Hexle made it somewhat hard to keep track of him, but Corr’s vision was sharp enough to see where the cat was going; he was heading straight for him. A frontal attack, straight on. But the tiny thing was smaller than him, and thereofre harder to figure out how to immobilize, other than a big bite to his back. This was much different than his first battle against the Fellox. As the concept Draculi passed within his reachm and aiming for what seemed like his belly, Corr took a step forward and lowered his head, jaws open and snapping as he tried to catch the quick creature in his sharp, lethal canines.

The hairs on the back of Hexle's neck had raised just as he'd gotten close, and being a believer in following one's instincts, he'd jumped right off course and headed the other way.  Luckily, though the dust had obscured part of the lucain's movements, he'd managed to catch a glimpse of strong jaws snapping downward at the spot he'd been.  It was unnerving, to say the least.

Shaking it off a little while taking a brief breath of air, he skimmed the creature for the next target, dirt settling down around them.  He could go for the tails and then make his way on the back of the creature, as it would be difficult for Corr to get to him there.  He was small; it was feasible that he could make it.

Corr watched through the dust as the small creature skidded away from his outstretched jaws. Neither had been able to score a hit thanks to the poor visibility. He gave his fur another shake, and simply turned his body to match the direction the creature had run. He had a feeling this was going to be a fight full of frontal assaults and quick attacks. Hopefully the cocnept creature would tire himself out with all that running. Corr just had to keep an eye on the cat wherever it went. His tails waved behind him in anticipation, muscles bunching as he prepared for the creatures next assault. It was moving towards his tails, getting closer and closer. At the last minute, Corr twisted his body, turning to snap with outstretched jaws once more in hopes of clamping down on the small creature.

Blast it all!  The lucain was just too quick.  He'd headed him off right as he'd gotten so close, too.  Luckily, it was enough room where he hadn't needed to move that much.  He'd only sidestepped and, since he was so close, went for the gut of the belly.  He was down that way, anyway.  There were some pointy spots there, so he had to be careful, but his speed would hopefully counter any sudden movements.

Corr was both fast and strong, so he most likely had plenty of energy, but Hexle's compact draculi form could only hold so much.  He would need to watch his energy levels closely if he wanted to see the other creature do anything other than snap at him.

Corr couldn’t believe he’d missed again. This time, he snapped his jaws in the air, more in frustration than anything else. He narrowed his eyes; he had felt the ears of the other creature brush his belly as he ducked beneath him, and he managed to hop up as high as he could, tails lashing, before he tried to stomp down on the small cat, claws out as he aimed for the Draculi as he passed beneath him. Maybe this time he’d actually score a hit, but with all the dust and crud kicked up by the churning paws and sidestepping, Corr wasn’t so sure.

Frowning as he moved back away from the lucain, the prick of pain in his hindquarter told him that he'd indeed been nicked by the blades on the creature's hind leg.  Though he'd managed to get out of the way of an onslaught of movement from him, he'd still only barely scratched him.

In fact, he'd say Corr had inadvertently done more damage to him than he had to the lucain.  It was a nasty truth that he'd probably lose this fight simply from attacking the other creature.  There were just too many pointy spots to hurt yourself on him.  As it was, Hexle was still determined to push a few buttons to get some more response from his opponent. Since he felt he had nothing to lose, the draculi simply lunged for what was closest; Corr's neck.
