A lot of things had been mainly smooth sailing for a world residing in a digital space. Living out its existence of numbers and code in relative peace, or at least as peaceful as one could ask for when it was inhabited by all sorts of monsters, with a number of them that were accompanied by an even smaller population of humans that enjoyed picking fights with other similar monsters they found in the world. Despite little details like that, Eliza was pretty proud of how well everything had been going so far.

Up until from out of nowhere it wasn’t.

Somehow there had been new, and very unusual readings, coming up back at headquarters about certain regions in the infrastructure of their server, that it honestly had her and several others worried...  It was something that they had never seen before, and they were mostly unsure of how to proceed with fixing the problem. There was just too little information to go off of.

Suggestions did come up about informing everyone about the strange readings, but overall, panicking everyone unnecessarily was something they didn’t want to do.

They had to be sure that, whatever this is, it was a real problem to be considered serious enough to warn everyone. The only way to find out for sure, since their monitoring systems were not sufficient enough to provide the data they needed, was to investigate these points in person.

Given her position, Eliza naturally volunteered to help with the investigation without a second thought. As did Alex, her co-worker and best friend.

After going through even more discussions, it was decided that she’d take charge of looking into one of the larger ones to prioritize on that were the most concerning, and he’d take the other one.

That left only a third one without someone to check on it. Which they both agreed that if they weren’t able to get to it fast enough after looking at the other ones, that they’d get some of the other members to assist with that.

The main reason for going this route, and only having anyone else get involved when absolutely necessary, was so that they could avoid putting someone into a dangerous situation. Without knowing the full picture, it was the kind of risk they were afraid to take.

When they had gotten enough things sorted out, and a very basic plan of action in mind, the duo began to make their way out into Central to make some final preparations. Including stopping by their farms to bring along some Digimon, the aforementioned monsters of a slightly different sort that weren't wild and feral, that would be there to help protect them. From there, it'd just be a matter of leaving the safe zone out into the wild areas.

Eliza already knew exactly who she'd be bringing along for her own investigation.

Each farm was programmed a little differently, all according to the user's specifications and preference. So generally no two ever really looked exactly the same. And hers by far was among the largest in size to help accommodate the large number of Digimon she had gathered overtime.

When she arrived via a transporter, there was a cool breeze that rushed by her, filled with the scents of a forest nearby. Not far from where she was, there was a meadow that was set up to be the main gathering point for everyone that lived here or came to visit.

It had been decorated near meticulously by Eliza herself to be visually pleasing to the eye. With all sorts of flowers sprinkled about of varying colors in the large patches of grass, a small pond, and a couple of trees here and there to add a garden vibe to it. There was even a house included, to serve as a resting area. Though it wasn't exactly designed like a typical human house, as there were several oddities about it that she had tweaked to work with Digimon of most sizes...

Though not all would ever fit in there, try as she might, for there would always be those type of Digimon that were larger than that house.

Thankfully, not all of her Digimon were that big. Most were still pretty small, that they weren't much bigger than cats. But even they had some growing up ahead of them! And right on cue, she happened to hear some giggling going on.

In the corner of her eye, she spotted some movement out in some of the tall grass. Wherever they were, she wouldn't be far off either. Quickly Eliza made her way over to see what the fuss was about.

Making her way around so as to not step on anyone by mistake just because it was nearly impossible to see whatever was hiding in all that green, Eliza's eyes soon locked on who she had been looking for.

Out over near one of the trees, curled up peacefully in the shade, was the form of a familiar furred dragon. Psyche had been busy watching over the younger Digimon up until now, but at some point the spot became so comfortable that she ended up dozing off.

When Eliza realized that Psyche was asleep, she slowed to a stop a short distance away. There was something very important that needed to be done, and she wanted to take the Dorugamon along with her. Because of that, Eliza was going to have to wake her from her nap this time around. Even though normally she wouldn't do that under other circumstances.

So instead of dashing right in and causing a ruckus, she opted for trying a soft approach. Walking over much more quietly that before, she called out to the dragon as gently as possible. "...Psyche?"

She could hear the soft familiar voice, and slowly her brain started to react. Then everything else kind of kicked into gear the next moment, as her body briefly seized and her eyes opened to reveal gold behind those lids. Sucking in a sudden breath. Since Psyche was supposed to be babysitting, she had been startled awake by her own brain. "Huh, what??"

Momentarily confused, she raised her squarish head and started looking around. Her first concern being the other Digimon, before she realized her partner was standing there. "Oh! Eliza, erm..."

Suddenly feeling embarrassed, Psyche couldn't figure out what to say, or really even how to react. "I-I wasn't sleeping! I swear..." She stammered. Eliza found her reaction amusing, and had to hide the small laugh as best she could. Among her Digimon, Psyche was the only one that took babysitting pretty seriously, so getting caught sleeping on the job was definitely not a good thing in her eyes.

"Of course." She responded simply, choosing not to say anything else beyond that for her sake.

"Did you hear that!" A small voice gasped. The nearby grass would suddenly begin to shake and rustle about as several small figures started popping out. "Eliza's back! Yay!" One of the Digimon would pipe up, as they all started swarming her. There were at least a dozen of them. Each one different in some way or another, yet still they mostly retained that super adorable round body shape as their common trait.

Eliza naturally had to say hello to them, and lowered herself to be closer to their level. "Hey everyone!" When they got close enough, she reached out to grab one of them and pull them into a hug.

Each of them were vying to get her attention, that they were constantly trying to jump at her, or pull at her arms. It would be some of the usual stuff too, like wanting hugs as well, or wanting to play some games with her. But eventually it started getting so rowdy, that Eliza was finding herself overwhelmed, and Psyche had to step in to shoo them away. "That's enough already! Give her some space, please."

It took a bit of time, but soon she was able to convince them to go play elsewhere for now.

When things were finally calm, Eliza stood up and brushed herself off. A smile on her face as she watched the group run off. "Thanks, Psyche." For a moment she thought for sure that they'd succeed in smothering her to death this time. The dragon looked pretty happy herself. "No problem! So what's up?" If she came to see her while she was handling the little ones, then Psyche assumed it must be important. Plus she could feel something was up.

"Well..." Eliza began.
