“There he is,” Zli said. He sounded a bit flabbergasted. You looked around the crowd. What had he seen that you hadn’t?

“What?” you barely had the question out when he gestured to the stage. The dragon up there did look a little too realistic. It was beautiful too, and as you watched it move you say it was not quite a dragon.

“Fucking Chaos in plain sight. In my fucking city,” Zli was grumbling to himself but his mouth was so close to your ear. Chaos? You furrowed your brow. You’d heard stories by had not seen one for yourself before. It tended to be best practice to avoid them altogether.

“This seems bad. Is this bad?” you asked. Someone was drawing attention. Others were trying to draw attention away. In a matter of seconds, the whole parade was broken down. Zli began to shoulder his way through the crowd, toward the Chaos. You followed because at this point you weren’t giving up your discovery of Zli. You had traveled too far and had done too much to leave without what you came for.

The crowd refused to shift around you. Most. The civilians. Were in a nearly blind panic. You didn’t know what was said to make them do this.

Then the Seraphim appeared. You felt their presence in the air and on your skin. From the way Zli was acting you could tell he knew they were here too. As the crowd dwindled and only a few remained. The civilian guards were dealing with the civilians, but the Seraphim had moved in. Zli kept you away from them. He kept himself away from them and by extension you. You could see his Demons running interference.

“Tell me you know where it went,” Zli said.

“I didn’t see it over the crowd, but I can feel where it’s been,” you said.

[Sarah]

“Go on then,” he prompted. You eyed him warily. You didn’t trust him not to leave you. You found you didn’t trust him at all. He grabbed your hand. “Can we go now?” he asked. You frowned but nodded. You felt the tear between realities where the Chaos had fled.

“Aurudantte!” The name fell from Zli’s lips and you were surprised to hear it. Did he know about this Chaos? The creature looked back, and you saw unmistakable recognition. It did not stop moving but it did slow down. “What are you doing here?” Zli asked. He sounded incredibly accusatory.

[Sarah]

“I am allowed to celebrate my people,” the creature defended. You had no idea what the Chaos was talking about. You assumed the parade had something to do with it, but you didn’t know enough about the parade to know in what aspects it was about Chaos. If at all.

“I don’t care. I need a piece of you and then you need to get out of the city,” Zli said. You watched the Chaos shift slightly. You couldn’t tell if it was confused or unwilling. There was some shouting in the distance and Zli held out his hand. The creature sighed but plucked off a scale and handed it over.
