Inspire's heart began to race as the time for the performance raced toward her. Everything was happening so fast, and it was all so different from what she had been expecting. Eventually, she Gyre into a chair and got dressed into her own elaborate costume.

It was then that she was greeted with the great black head of a beast. She screeched like someone being murdered in an old horror film before realizing that it was only the mild mannered fellow she had been working out a performance with. Was he hiding that elaborate costume this whole time? Then why had he asked for her help? For that matter... she wasn't sure that he had ever asked. She only offered without even thinking. How silly of her. He clearly had everything together.

Gyre came rushing in to the dressing rooms with his arm over his face. His other arm was flailing around madly attempting to strike whatever had made his precious Inspire cry out like that. He lightly thumped Auberon on his side and was stopped quickly.

"Ah, it's got me, help!" he squeaked, peeking out from under his arm just enough to see the dragon standing before him.

"It's okay, Gyre," Inspire said. She lifted his arm from his eye and smoothed down the tangle of hair on top of his head. "It's just a costume, okay?" Inspire was beginning to wonder if she believed that herself. She wasn't sure, but she wasn't about to start a scene too close to show time.

"Oh, right," Gyre said blushing lightly, both because Inspire had touched him and he was embarrassed that he had run in swinging on a costumed performer. "Wow that's insane, why didn't you tell us you were gonna do that? Coulda saved so much time..."

"Don't be rude," Inspire said. "I think it's lovely..." if she was going to say something else, she didn't get the chance, because it was time for their performance.

"Wish us luck," Inspire said with a wink in Gyre's direction. He nearly melted into the floor, but he did manage to squeak out some good wishes before they ran out to face the crowd.

Inspire gracefully swept out onto the stage, looking like someone who had definitely practiced their routine beforehand. Everything was perfect, not a step out of place. That guy in the dragon costume? Well, she didn't really care what he did, but he seemed to have a handle on it. Why he hadn't explained that earlier, she'd never be able to imagine, but they were there now and she had to focus on other things.

Just one more flouris... huh? Inspire whipped around instead of finishing her dance and stood mouth agape at her dancing 'partner' from before. He explained that he was actually a 'chaos' and that the costume wasn't a costume after all. Was he speaking directly into her brain? She couldn't focus on that question with everything else buzzing around in her head.

No wonder everything was so weird! That's the only thought she managed to get out before everything started to feel tense. She could feel the crowd turning from entertained to confused. Her performance was, in a word, ruined. Now she had to decide whether or not she was going to exact revenge on the guy who did it.

As much as she wanted to be angry that her performance was ruined, she felt sorry for the stranger. Hunted down? That didn't seem right. From what he had said, he only wanted to see the festival. Inspire loved art and she could only admire such an attitude. She had to help him escape, if a puny little human like her could even do anything of the sort.

True to his word, the seraph broke character and ascended to the stage. Inspire stood awestruck for a moment while she formulated a plan in her head. She cursed the thought of what she was about to do to her beautiful shoes and threw herself at one of the seraph. She grabbed on to his clothes as she tumbled toward the ground.

"Oh my, I am so sorry," she said after crashing to the floor. She looked up at him with a pitiful look on her face as though her entire month had just been ruined. To be entirely fair, it had. "Excuse me, I tripped. See the costume is just so hard to walk in and I'm so scared..." Surely he would be understanding toward her plight.

She made eye contact with one of the sets of eyes in her new chaos friend. Her eyes were sharp with confidence through the facade of fake tears. "Go! Go! I'll do what I can but you have to go!" She thought it as hard as she could, thinking that if he spoke directly to her brain, he must be able to hear her thoughts as well.

"Please mister," she tugged on the seraph's clothes. "I need help. I'm so scared and my performance is ruined and I broke a heel, actually I think I might have broken my ankle." She didn't let him go under any circumstances.

"The... the monster! He kidnapped me and forced me to disguise him for the performance!" she insisted. She flailed her legs, kicking and thrashing in order to knock over one of the other seraph. There was the faintest hint of a smug smile on her face as she made contact.

"He told me where he was going! Please, if you help me up I can tell you everything he said! I know all about his dastardly plans, he couldn't resist telling me while he had me trapped back stage!" To her surprise the little charade seemed to be... working. The last thing she heard as she saw the dragon man dash out of sight was a hurried 'thank you' in her head like before. She hoped it was enough...

[Help the Chaos escape Seraphim pursuer.]
