It was a common claim that the innocent had nothing to hide. The Spring Flower, as she went by, didn't believe that, as a matter of fact. On the other hand, the converse was often very true-the guilty had plenty to hide. Which was why she was plotting out how to invade this particular church, after some of her contacts had passed along a rather concerning set of records. She was dressed in as modest an outfit as she could put together, mostly hiding her ears and tail. For additional security, she'd dyed them as well, in shades of brown and black that would hopefully wash out later.

She wasn't much one for services, but for this one she was attending, there wouldn't be much expected from her. She would have to rise and sit at the appropriate times, and make sure she at least seemed like she was listening. At the moment, she wasn't quite sure if this would require her to pretend interest in converting, but she'd gotten here early enough she figured she could scout around the area under pretense of wanting to find a good seat.

A preliminary scouting didn't show anything particularly wrong. She sat herself down on one of the frontmost seats, poking lightly at the cushion with a hand and nothing internally that it felt strangely stiff. Standing up, she moved to the back, finding a similar amount of stiff resistance from said seat. She wasn't sure if this was how it was supposed to be, but being hidden in the back would give her a better chance to check. She stood up and shifted several more times, so that the few other people in the room would simply assume she was being particularly picky.

She waited a bit, for more people to be milling around, while at the same time making sure no one would sit too close to her. Finally, she leaned back a little, rubbing at the seams of the pew cushion until it split. She stuck one finger in, shifting the tip into a claw to cut out a bit of the inner stuffing. She'd split one of the lower seams, so that no one would notice for a while.

She lifted her hand lightly to her face, as if to hide a yawn, finger crooked inwards so she could examine the stuffing. Yes...it was definitely crusted and old. It didn't look like something that large amounts of Keystones had been spent on, as the records had claimed. With that confirmed, she set her hand back in her lap and went back to casing the entire joint, one ear also pricked to the side so she could make sure she took in enough of the sermon to be able to repeat its basic principles.

Eventually, the sermon ended. She stood up, tucking her hand inside her sleeve casually to hide the bit of stuffing, and walking up to the preacher for more conversation. She put on her best impression of wanting to learn more about converting, leaning in as if curious while being able to scan the foremost area much closer-up. By the time she was done, she was pretty sure she knew enough about the area to pull off the heist. As well as much more about the Triumvirate than she'd ever wanted to know.

When night fell, she crept back towards the church, pressing an ear against the door to listen closely. Some churches were open at night, to provide shelter for the less fortunate. She doubted this one cared so much, but perhaps it would put up a facade of it?

After some more listening, she concluded it was not putting up such a facade in any way. Picking the lock was elementary, and it was even the kind she could lock behind her once she left.

There were several potential hiding places for the actual records. She'd paid attention to how all the people on stage stood and moved, and was fairly certain she'd figured out which ones were in on the conspiracy. Thus, she'd also figured out which spots they were making sure to protect, even when uninitiated folks came wandering along.

She walked over to that spot, tapping on the stage. No hollow sounds-of course they wouldn't be that sloppy. A bit more searching and prying, and soon she'd uncovered the compartment.

Of course she didn't find all the misreported cash down there. But what she did find was a giant stack of reports, full of various detail about where the cash was actually going and who was going to receive it. This would definitely enough to blow things wide open and get her quite a bit of profit, if she got it to the right people. But she also couldn't risk having her deception discovered so quickly...

Luckily for her, she'd brought along a few blank sheets of paper with a certain spell on them. Passing them over each page of one of the reports, she managed to copy down said report fully, and even rearrange the pages so that they looked untouched. Sliding the compartment back into place and tucking the copied pages into her cloak, she hurried back out the door with a grin.

She even made sure to lock it behind her.
