Once a grand cathedral dedicated to the Holy Triumvirate, all that remains now are ruins ever since the religion was rejected strongly in 1823. While the religion is back in favor, the cathedral was never restored. (+3 Defense, +2 Offense)

Nocturne [Self]

Postby Silver » 07/09/2009 1:52 AM

“Nyuugh...”

The girl slowly opened her pale eyes, trying to determine what had happened. Even the soft light of the nearly full moon seemed harsh, causing her to squint into the starry sky. Her head pulsed with pain, each beat of her heart sending a new shocking wave of discomfort through her skull. For a moment it was all she could think, all she could feel. She blinked her eyes a few times, trying to make sense of her situation.

After a moment to get used to the pain in her head, more pain followed. Her entire left side hurt, especially her arm. For a little while, she just lay there, unsure if she should... or for that matter could move. She knew on some level that if she didn't get up, she would probably die here. Wherever 'here' was. Laying exposed and wounded in the middle of who knows where was not a good idea from a survival standpoint.

With a great deal of effort and the idea of her own mortality sinking in, she managed to roll onto her relatively pain free right side. Careful not to move her head too much and aggravate the splitting pain in her head, she surveyed the area around where she was laying, and only one thought came to her mind.

Where am I?

With that thought escaping, so too did her conscious grip on the world. Her pale eyes flickered back closed as she lost her touch with reality yet again. Her body lay limp and battered on the ground near the ruins, just waiting for something... anything to happen to save it. A cold breeze tousled her hair, causing an involuntary shudder as it touched her exposed skin.

The breeze carried with it the shock that shook her awake yet again. The pain in her head had dulled, though she could still feel it pulse. How long had it been? This time around, she managed to pull herself into a sitting position, leaning to her right side. Pain rippled through her left side and she winced accordingly. It was better than before; did that mean she had been knocked out for a while? Whatever it was, she knew it couldn't be good.

Too afraid to look down at herself, she turned her eyes to the area around her. It was dark, with no sign of light approaching. Along with the dark, it was chilly, and she was very under dressed. Whatever little clothing she had to start with had been torn and tattered, probably by whatever had caused her all the pain. That was the least of her worries.
