Once a grand cathedral dedicated to the Holy Triumvirate, all that remains now are ruins ever since the religion was rejected strongly in 1823. While the religion is back in favor, the cathedral was never restored. (+3 Defense, +2 Offense)

Cosma sighed a bit sadly. If even his own family couldn't really guess what Rexus was going to do, how should Gemas and her influence someone so fickle? She could only hope they managed to talk some sense into him.

Gemas seemed equally upset, though for different reasons. The Kuhna was the highest ranking subordinate of Death and he abused his powers like that? In his position? Gemas couldn't say he was understanding what the woman called Death was thinking or why she had even hired someone like Rexus, but maybe they were all rather strange in that world. This seemed to be especially true since the 'highest ranking subordinate' obviously didn't even have a clue on how souls were judged. And given his soul, this couldn't be that much different from Gemas' world. "You are a fool", he remarked rather coldly. "If your entire family has been condemned and you managed to be the one exception, that would actually make your light brighter instead of tarnishing it."

Cosma got a bit excited when she heard about Rexus' limit. "So you promised yourself to not summon her more than thrice and you already called her two times?" She looked at Gemas. "Gemas, can one more time really do that much damage? If it's really going to be the last time and he is willing to say goodbye for good?"

Gemas looked at his beloved and sighed. "I admit, I had thought he would have summoned her a lot more often already, given how he acted when we approached him at first. Three summonings in total will probably not do all too much permanent damage. As I described, it is continued abuse that makes souls paler."

"So you are okay with him doing it one more time?" Cosma smiled inwardly. This wasn't all that bad!

"I am certainly not alright with him breaking the rules again and-- Cosma, are you trying to distract me?" Gemas suddenly had Cosma nuzzling him.

"Oh come on, you said yourself it's not your world to begin with and one more time won't do that much damage, right? You know you'd feel it if he'd break his word, so let him~" Cosma entwined one of Gemas' tails with one of her own again. "Please, my love?"

"I-- I'm not--" Gemas shook his head and tried to escape from his beloved before she made him do something he would regret later. He concentrated on the visibly shocked Kuhna again. Well, if he was a high-ranking subordinate, there should be little damage in telling him about his alignment, even though he was still alive. He approached Rexus and bowed down to his ear. "Listen", he whispered so the two women wouldn't hear; he wouldn't break the law that much. "Cosma is correct. You are not completely tarnished. Far from being pure, too, though, but that was to be expected after breaking the boundaries of life and death. But if you would die right now, you would not go to hell or whatever place your world has reserved for dark sinners. Don't mess the rest of your life up."

Cosma hadn't heard what Gemas had said, but she had a good idea about what her beloved had revealed to the Kuhna. "Did you tell him about his soul?" she asked when Gemas stepped back.

Gemas sighed. "I told him about his current alignment, yes." He allowed Cosma to lean against him again. "My beloved, I should probably tell you about how all souls are pure, though. I judge by seeing them, yes, but it is more a judging of seeing how much the mortal is in touch with his or her own soul. Your soul is so radiant because you are in touch with it." He looked at Rexus. "Listen, Rexus. In my world, all mortals carry light and darkness in them. The light gives the them their soul and the darkness gives them their heart. And those with a soul not strong enough to resist the darkness the heart wants to pull them into are those who are weak. Mortals know envy and greed. They wish for wealth and luxury, but above all for power. Power over others. This is the legacy of the darkness and this is what moves their hearts. But they also know love and kindness. This is the legacy of the light and this is what moves their souls. There are no evil mortals in my world because souls can not be tainted. There are only weak ones with evil hearts. Your soul is pure, but the power you abuse draws you towards your dark heart. Do not give in. Remember your soul."

Cosma looked at Gemas. "I...did not know that."

Gemas laughed lightly. "This is not what normal mortals know, my dear. This is godly knowledge. In the end, it matters little if your soul would be able to get tainted or if it remains pure, but your heart draws you into darkness. The result would be the same. Yet it is comforting for many mortals to know that they possess a pure soul no matter what." He glanced at Rexus. "No matter how condemned a family. Your soul is pure, your heart is tainted. It is a fair struggle for everyone. Mortals choose their own fate, their own side of the balance. Blood hardly matters in this."

((DDDDDDD8 More exposition. I iz sorreh. That...was not planned. DDDDDD8))

"I am truly glad you've told him this, I'm sure Rexus would say so himself, but he doesn't appear to be himself. So I'm not to sure if he can." Tamorah mused happily. Her accent and angry, protective posture dropping for the time being. She cast a glance over to Rexus who still looked shocked, though the look appeared to be fading.

"One of three." He replied after a moments pause. "There might have been others though, I do not know what became of them if the was any more exceptions, though." He did know what would have happened to them, and it wasn't pretty. But he didn't feel like he had the time to explain.

He could hear the crow, he could hear it's breathing and the way it's feet skittered on the stones of the cathedral. He tried to ignore the conversation between the two felloxes, not only because it was a biting reminder but because he was trying to pin point the crow. He was tempted, if he found it, to find a rather nice rock to throw at it's head. He could guarantee it wasn't just a normal bird, he was sure of it. Trying his best to look nonchalant he turned his head in the direction of the noise, sure enough there was a crow staring back at him, it's eyes beady and intelligent. It gave him a look, there would be words later. It gave only that message before it returned to the sky. Whether good or bad he didn't want to dwell on them, Death Herself was someone who ever sought revenge. Unless she chasing after those which sought to avoid her, and Rexus certainly hadn't been trying to avoid the figure in that aspect. Infact she was rather tired of finding Rexus with a noose around his neck, he could clearly remember her sigh the last time that had happened. If he'd ever got a look that could kill... It was just a shame it hadn't, really.

"I think I should thank for telling me so." He smiled, somewhat shakily. "Your insight has been invaluable. I--I guess this means I have to stop drinking poison, eh?" He laughed weakly, his sense of humor had always been extremely macabre. The poison was less volatile than some of the stuff his brother drank, but it wasn't the healthiest habit to have; golf would have been the more pain free choice.

"Your world seems to be a very pleasant world, with talk of hearts and souls. All Rexus speaks of is dying and all the other's seem to speak about is each other or women they're all quite mad.--"
"It's a mad world." Rexus interrupted. "Therefore it's only right and proper the people in it should be mad too." Tamorah shook her head at his words, an amused expression playing across her face.

After a moment of silence, Rexus nodded. He understood what the fellox was saying, it was something he'd never considered, he'd assumed the curse of Noir's ran deep in him. The believe had only been strengthened through years of torture. "I will have to leave soon, no doubt Death Herself has a few harsh words for me. If she's in a mood for speaking, she might just give me a look that would curdle a cow." Natalia's father had used that expression alot, it was strange to be using something he'd remembered being said so often. He gave a curt nod toward the pair. "I owe you two thanks." Rexus said quietly, glancing at the door of the place.  "I will keep to my word, you need not worry about that."

Tamorah smiled, this was the first time for a while that her cousin had said anything positive. She gave her own nod, turning to leave.

(Sorry for the fail towards the end. XD <33)

Gemas just gave Tamorah a nod while Cosma happily hummed. "It's good if it helps him. Maybe it will help him to go on", she finally said.

"Not just to go on. He needs to realize that he alone will determine if he meets his love again in the afterlife, by his actions alone. The way is not yet closed for him, but he indeed needs to change his ways. You, Lady, obviously care deeply for him, so you might want to remind him sometimes." Gemas glanced from Tamorah to Rexus. "It does not matter if you are one of three or alone. Each mortal forges his or her own path. You might currently be an exception to the 'mortal' rule thanks to your unique position, but be assured, even your life will end some day."

Gemas noticed the crow, too, especially when Rexus looked at it and there was a silent communication going on. He didn't understand, but the animal was obviously part of Rexus' world. Maybe even from his master; Gemas found himself fond of that thought, no matter if the Kuhna had obviously seen at least a bit of light.

Cosma gave a startled sound. "Drinking poision?! That's...that's horrible!"

Gemas just sighed. "If it does not kill you, it is not a sin, just incredibly stupid. In my world, suicide is considered a sin, though, since it means throwing away the life the Creator Of All has so benevolently given you. And my world - one of four in the Sea of Chaos - is not 'pleasant'... it is merely balanced. As the war between light and darkness rages on between the gods, the mortals carry both within them. My master and his sister are the neutral forces, governing life and death. That is all. I can hardly imagine a world without that balance. Though some of our gods are not quite sane either..." Gemas sighed. He was just happy he wasn't assigned to the world with the crazy nutcase dark god. It was hard enough to stand her Fellox.

When Rexus turned to leave, Gemas just nodded. "Good. I hope your master can further drive sense into you. I do not believe you are a bad person, but your way is a dangerous one."

Cosma still leaned happily against her beloved. "Don't worry, Rexus. I'm sure Gemas will tolerate it just fine if you keep your word and summon your Natalia just one more time and leave it at that then!"

Gemas sighed. "Very well. I will...'overlook' the breaching of the border the next time it happens, but be assured, I will feel it and seek you out again if it won't be the last time then."

"Yes, yes." Cosma nudged Gemas. "We're happy we were able to help you guys. Take care and greet your master!"

"Yes, indeed. Greet your master from me." Gemas nodded. "I regret not being able to meet her." He looked around. He would study the leftovers from the summoning ritual a bit more after the Kuhna and Fenref would have left, but they didn't need to know that.

Rexus nodded, it was really a good thing that he wasn't completely unhinged by everything. There really was some good in the kuhna, perhaps it just took alot for him to realize it, let alone act on it. "Thank you." He'd said that several times already, despite being someone of very few words Rexus felt the need to portray just how grateful he actually was.

"Teenage phase. We er... all end up rebelling at some point, right?" Rexus said sheepishly, chucking nervously. He didn't believe for one minute that either of the felloxes had ever had a 'teenage phase' or had even thought about rebelling, though it was a funny thought to imagine. "Then again, poison is better than what my cousin, Tamorah's half brother drinks." Anything was better than what Rubius drunk. Petrol would probably be refreshing to the alcohol-sodden canine.

"I hope she can too, eh Rexus?" Tamorah asked, glancing sideways at her relative. Rexus only smiled wryly in response to her comment.

"T-thank you, both of you. I am in your debt." Despite how awkward he sounded as he spoke it was clear that Rexus was attempting to speak from the heart- something he didn't do very often. "I'll make sure to tell her you send your greetings." He assured, bowing his head.

"Shall we go, Rexus? I wouldn't like to keep, er, Death waiting, that and I'll have to drag Rubius out from that conifer he fell asleep in. I dread to think what the badgers will have done to him by the time we find him again." Tamorah paused, turning toward Gemas and Cosma. "Goodbye, thank you."

((Both have left the rp~ <3 Sorry it's a bit faily in places <33)

Cosma felt like saying something, anything, about these unhealthy drinking habits, but Gemas shook his head slightly. They had done enough for now in his opinion and while he understood that Cosma wanted to help further, Gemas felt like it would only do harm to pester the Kuhna about everything and, as morbid as it was, drinking poision wasn't anything they should be concerned with. There was no rule against that.

"Goodbye." Gemas nodded at the two leaving pets.

"Take care!" Cosma called after them before they disappeared. Then, she sighed and watched silently as Gemas inspected the remaining pieces of the ritual. "Does that mean anything to you?"

Gemas slowly shook his head. "No. I have not seen this kind of magic before, but I do not like it at all." He sighed. "Though I suppose I should let matters rest for now. I really regret not meeting this woman who is Death."

Cosma playfully nudged him. "You shouldn't want to meet other women, really."

"You know what I meant." Gemas closed his eyes when her nudging turned into gentle caress. "I wish for no one else to be by my side." In the end, he could understand Rexus a bit. Though he would follow the rules always, the thought of losing Cosma was terrible for him and he did not want to imagine how the Kuhna suffered. There was, after all, only one life to live. Maybe he should try to remember that a bit more often, for Cosma's sake. "I doubt I can gain anything else from staying here. Let us leave this place. Dusk is still far away and I know of a place close to here which is rather nice. We can spend the rest of the day there together, like we intended to from the start."

Cosma beamed at her love. "That would be wonderful! I thought you would leave me now to report to your master."

"I will have to, this evening. But while I am sure my master will have great interest in what I learned, there is nothing for him to do about all of this, so a few hours will not make a difference. You have been so good to me today, the least I can do is trying my best to make you as happy as possible."

"You always do that." Entwining one of Gemas' tails with her own again, she turned to leave and he followed her. "I love you. Thank you for letting me stay with you, even in this situation."

"I love you, too. And while it is indeed strange for me to have someone with me on duty, by my side is the place where I like you the most." Gemas helped Cosma to climb over some rubble. "Come, my love. There is the entrance. This place is not for a bright soul like yours. Let us enjoy the sunshine, though it pales in comparision to your soul."

Cosma giggled. "You are such a romantic sometimes, you know that?" Humming happily, she followed her love out of the cathedral, hoping that somewhere, some day, Rexus would be able to enjoy life - and maybe love - again as well. For love was a force like no other.

~FIN~
