He was the first to show up, although he was not the one who needed a vacation the most. In fact, there was nothing much at all that he needed to escape from. Sure, the city could be rough, at times, but Meet Kekkhailos had it pretty good. He worked as a police force detective in the largest city in the country. The Sabbit rather enjoyed his job; it paid well, and he had to use his wit. A banal job in an office cubicle would never suit him - he needed the excitement and urgency that figuring out a murder case required.
But the kind of excitement that he would find in the tiny cottage on Kinder Hill was of the kind that nobody needed, and that was for sure.

Imanerre Morten was the second to arrive at the tiny cottage on Kinder Hill. It hadn't been hard for him to leave; his marriage was falling apart, anyway. He felt no qualms in leaving that woman to take care of herself.
Secretly, he was hoping that this little break would set their relationship back on track... But he doubted that it would.
His head felt weak as he climbed up to the vacation house on his own two feet. The last thing he needed was to get sick here...

Unassuming. That was the best word to describe Parleign Evanchx. He had just graduated from a rather prevalent college a year ago, but he had already started work as an accountant with good pay. Not much was known about him at the workplace. Not much was known about him anywhere, in fact. The boy blended into the crowd seamlessly.
Regardless of his appearance, he worked diligently and was deserving of this... haphazard "vacation".

Kharena Severx described herself as "professional". Professional what? Who knows. She had worked as a secretary for the same man for fifteen years before deciding that she needed to get away. Perhaps she did not pick the right place to run away to. Perhaps it was fate.
Who could say until it had all played out?

She was the one person who had not come to the cottage on Kinder Hill to escape. No, Helerne was employed here. No one knew for sure when she first came, but she had been there for as long as anyone could remember. Truthfully, she was a little bit wrong in the head. Quite wrong in the head, but there wasn't a man alive who was brave enough to tell her so. Helerne was a thick woman, both in brains and in stature. She moved slowly, shuffling about on absurdly small feet, out of place on such a wide body. She was large, though she never let anyone see her eat. It was her job to prepare food for those who visited Kinder Hill. She did this without wages.
The true owner refused to pay the woman who dared encroach on her property. Helerne claimed that she was bound to Kinder Hill by blood; the owner had bought it dair and square. Neither would back down, but it would be petty to bring the matter to court [and it was questionable that Helerne would even cooperate on legal grounds]. Therefore, they let each other alone.
