She smiled at him and nodded at his last remark. Sh strutted along side him, being not quite distracted enough by Dexter to ignore all the dirt on the ground. Gah, force of habit, she grumbled. She felt safer now with him. She wanted to be near him. It was probably just her habit of extremely loving everyone (unless, of course, they make her sick). For some reason, this felt different. For the first time since losing her memory, she found someone to relate to! Ah, great joy bestows upon my heart, she attempted to be poetic...

Dexter was even more taken aback by her strutting mannor. This was truly bizarre. Since when had he ever made anyone feel good? He himself was beginning to feel uncomfortable... This was quite ridiculous... What had Falcon said last time he had seen the lucain? "You have a bit of a soft spot when it comes to females.... Always ensure their guilt if the target is female..." He should have listened. He had made all of these preparations and now what? Now he was unsure of his target this was getting quite insane. If only I had listened to that damned lucain.....

She took one look over to him and froze where she stood. "Hey," she spoke softly, the words rolling out like silk. "Are you okay? Maybe this was a bad idea if you don't feel well." She began to feel ill again herself. N-no, she stammered in her head, I won't let him go back to lying! She wanted to cry, run away, go back to Sage, but her illness forced her to stay. Her body suddenly went into defense mode. "But, I trust him," she mumbled to herself. A small tear rolled down her face, but she hoped he wouldn't notice.
"I didn't do anything, I swear!" She screamed as tears streamed down her face. She bolted the other direction, not wanting Dexter to see her like this.

Dexter blinked slowly while she stammered out her words. What on earth was going on ?? This was so strange. For the first time every Dexter was completely and utterly confused. He had heard her murmer.... What was it..? "But I trust him..." How did she know that he had had potential murderous intent? What was happening with the world.

He became completely bewildered when she screamed and ran off. For a moment he paused, unsure of what to do. But then he took off after her.

She glanced back for a moment and found herself looki at Dexter running after her. She stopped, but couldn't stop crying. "Please," she breathed. "Please believe me." Her illness was setteling as far as Dexter was concerned, but she still felt funny about the whole situation. What would she do if he didn't believe her? That made her feel sick. She couldn't help but care for this kuhna now...

Dexter stopped next to her and awkwardly patted her on the back. "Its ok," he said. "I believe you." And to his surprise he found that he did believe her. She seemed far to innocent and jittery to have made the list. His kill list. The darkness inside him rumbled unhappily. He would have to kill someone soon. If not Piper then someone else..... This was turning into quite a stressful night...

"Look, I'm not going to hurt you ok? Trust me." He thought for a moment then awkwardly hugged her.

His hug surprised her, but she warmly welcomed it. Sometimes she wondered if her sudden affection, for everyone, if being this affectionate was toxic. This, with Dexter, somehow felt different. "Thank you," she breathed into his shoulder. There was something she couldn't shake. But they'd work through it, wouldn't they? She hoped with all her heart...

[Becca]

He held her for a moment longer then let her go, still standing close to her but still giving her space. This was truly a strange evening.... Since when had he become so farward? Like he had said to himself so many times this night, what was going on? He sighed and settled his haunches down on the pavement, his tails flicking slowly, the red flames glimmering on the tips. He watched the flames for a moment, entranced by their red beauty. "How about we get that food we were talking about?"

She smiled, but he seemed to be a bit... unsure? Maybe confused or ill. Whatever it was, it made her curious. "Sure," she said with her soft smile that slowly faded, "but are you okay? You seem a little... stressed." She wanted to approach him-- put her hand on his shoulder, her forehead on his, anything. She felt like something was stopping her. Not the germs again, she hoped. But their germs were now the same, so it didn't matter. Then what was it? Whatever, it didn't matter. Was Dexter okay? She'd do anything to help him...

Dexter's eyes darkened a little. Stressed wasn't quite the word..... "I'm not stressed... Just preoccupied with things..." He began to move towards the nicer part of the town, where he knew they could find a decent place to eat. It was strange not stalking theses streets after prey. Strange, but not unpleasant. This girl really seemed to not like dirt... She seemed to do a lot to avoid it. "Well lets find a place to eat," he said.

[Sage]

She looked down, concerned. "Is it anything I can help you with?" She spoke quietly, a bit unsure, almost. She had never been in a situation like this. Well, maybe she had, but not that she remembered. She followed Dexter with her tails low. "... Do you wanna talk about it?" She was hesitant to say that. Dexter was, from what she felt and learned, not very willing to talk about things. He kept things close to the vest, so to speak. Well, these were her observations, anyway. She walked carefully with each step, but felt better with the feeling that she was closer to the path she was supposed to take to get home. The streets began to look familiar in her mind. Perfect. But... I want to stay with Dexter right now. I'll be home soon, Sage, I promise...

"Its not really something that I can talk about... Its kinda a secret..." he said, looking down as he walked. It really wasn't something that he could talk about. He kind of killed people. Not exactly a topic that you went around shouting about. He barely even talked to Becca about it, and she was the person he trusted most, other than Falcon. Yes, Becca and Falcon were the only ones who really know what was going on with him. "You wouldn't really understand...."

She stopped dead in her tracks. For some reason those words stunned her. Wh--What? She almost started to cry. What is this feeling? Why am I starting to feel sick again. "Please," she whispered. "Please don't say that." She wanted to turn and run away. "I swear," she sort of sniffled, "I'll understand." She looked him straight in the eye. "Nothing you do will make me leave your side. Ever." She hung her head as a tear rolled down and hit the ground. Do I...?
