Once a grand cathedral dedicated to the Holy Triumvirate, all that remains now are ruins ever since the religion was rejected strongly in 1823. While the religion is back in favor, the cathedral was never restored. (+3 Defense, +2 Offense)

"A rather rundown place, the ruins of this cathedral echo with dark deeds of the past. Many pets devious and demonic seem drawn here."

Balikrag stared down at his open paw, in the palm of which lay a normal-sized brochure. Yes, his palm - it was so small to him that he could not hold it with both paws, merely rest it atop one and pray the wind did not take it.

He curled his paw into a fist, and the paper crumpled like a tissue... then froze and turned to dust. It did not have a map, so he held no further need of it. He had simply wanted a tool to help identify the building.

Balikrag stretched his massive, tattered wings, then gracefully folded them and strode forward into the Cathedral.

My wraiths, though not wraiths then, wandered deep into the heart of the polar storm. They tried to fight sleep, naive to the inevitability of their fate. When they awoke, they saw before them my own self, so much a part of the ice and cold they almost fail to see me. I wear a crown of the coldest, sturdiest ice, and my claws and fur have coated themselves in it.
I stand aloof to the cold, for I have lived in it so long, been a part of it so long, it no longer concerns me.

My wraiths are cursed to wander the polar tundra, eternally freezing, following mortal explorers and trying to warn them with their presence that they should not travel onward, should not make the same mistake. But there will always be those who persist in pressing on, never knowing what they are doomed to face, or destined to suffer.

He had an objective to accomplish here, unlike most tourists. He would not dare say what - no, he was too wise for that - but his 'who' was someone he expected to find quite a few of here: outcasts.

Renegades, rogues, the disheveled, wraiths, the unwanted, the feared, the despicable. Yes, he felt quite a few would be hiding here, and he wanted recruitment of every last one of them...

...well, every last one of their able-bodied with a taste for blood.

He had expected the weather to match the dreary state of the inside, but was pleasantly surprised. Due to the nearness of the Vast Plains, the cathedral was a metaphorical demonic entity in the middle of a flower field.

A tickle in his throat rose, and he coughed at the ground, spewing air so cold that the ancient tile before his maw turned white with frost.

This weather was not the best for him, but it was certainly preferable for the people he hoped to command. He anticipated that most of his ranks, due to the recent rise of prejudice against them, would be mechanical, and machines did not do well in extreme temperatures unless made to be. His home, Basantha, was frozen over - comfortable, yes, but a poor choice. He needed them to assume he cared.

His soft ears turned this way and that as he toured the crumbling cathedral, but caught no sound. He was concerned - he would much rather chase away the beings that lived there than find nothing and hope it stayed that way.

Well now, this world was certainly interesting. He could never get enough of walking around out there. Coming into a back room of the cathedral, the man pulled off his jacket and tossed it to the side. Taking off his top hat with one hand, he ran his other hand through his sleek hair, eyes closed and a small smile on his face.
"I'm home," he murmured. He raised his head as the darkness around him began to shift, bubbling up from the ground as whispers of wind reached his ears. Opening his eyes to small slits, he turned and looked at the opposite door.
"Oh?" he murmured, heading out into the hallway. His footsteps were silent, even the vast stone space, and though there was no light, he didn't seem to be having any trouble seeing. Well, it wasn't quite true to say there was no light, as there was a dull glow radiating from a small earring in his right earlobe. As he entered the main chamber of the cathedral, he walked up to a pillar, watching the stranger with eyes of ice.
"So we do have a guest," he quietly said with a chuckle, leaning against the pillar with arms crossed, his hat hanging from his fingertips.
You can pretend that when you hear my voice, darling, it's your choice not to fall in.

But it's all an act, 'cause I know exactly what you're wanting. You know it's what I'm wanting

Boy I know what you desire, oh, you're such a bad, bad liar

This could be perfection, or venom dripping in your mouth

Singing like a Siren, love me while your wrists are bound

Balikrag's bloody red eyes locked with the strange man's.

"Indeed," he rumbled. His baritone, growl-laden voice was unnatural-sounding, as though he were a monster - which he was not, but felt he was.

It was strange to not outwardly show it, but Balikrag was teeming with satisfaction. He merely needed to convince this stranger to leave or join, upon pain of death, and the Cathedral was his...

...assuming he didn't have any friends.

"Tell me," he said, taking half a step forward, "do many live here?"

The man watched the creature in front of him with a sort of mild amusement. The faint sounds of wind (or at least, what the creatures of this world thought was wind) constantly whispered in his ears. They talked of many things that Frost had long since learned to block out, but they also mentioned something about some ulterior motive the stranger had. He didn't care much about any motives this thing had, such matters were trivial to a being like himself. So like everything else, he blocked those out too.
Then the stranger stepped forward and asked a question. A grin stretched across Frost's face and he stepped forward as well. As he left the shadow of the pillar, something peculiar could be noticed by any who would pay attention. The man had no shadow.
"Well," he paused to place his hat back on his head before peering past its rim at the stranger. "That depends on what you consider living."

Balikrag indeed noticed - his eyes were that of a feline predator. As most know, such eyes are keen on movement, as though desperately starved for it. His, though unnaturally red, were no exception.

But, why is this relevant? That which does not exist does not move.

Aye - he noticed the lack of movement. It startled him somewhat. It also disappointed him when he fully realized what he was up against, as he had little experience in dealing with a being that could not be threatened with death. He needed a base of operations, and the Cathedral was his prime choice. It would not do to share it - he had plans for renovation, among others, and was never one to share his authority.

He pondered for a moment, wondering the ways he might use to be rid of this specter, and slowly came to realize it was not truly worth the trouble.

He hmmmed.

"Non-deceased," he answered honestly, "though I suppose I am interested in all that reside here regardless.

"I am but a tourist, you see," he said, donning a tad more charm - well, as much as one might without smiling. "A historian, to be precise. It is my wish to document the years that have passed in this... mysterious place."

The man chuckled and crossed his arms. A historian was he? Well there was certainly history here, though he didn't know all of it, nor did he care to. Let the building have its mysteries, what did it matter anyway? Deciding to answer the stranger's original question more honestly, Frost grinned.
"Well, setting aside the occasional ghost then, there are quite a few 'residents' here," he looked around at the cathedral's walls and smirked. "Though most of them are nothing to you."
He meant that quite literally in this case, though clarifying that to someone who knows nothing of them is quite difficult. Looking back at the creature, Frost's ice coloured eyes glinted.
"So then, historian. I can't tell you everything, but what do you wish to know?"

Balikrag was silent for a moment. Not a ghost? What, then?

Although his lack of control on this subject bothered him, he did find comfort in one thing - the one facing him responded like a ghost would. There was at least some manageability there.

"If it would not be much trouble," he said, raising his eyes to the faded details along the upper wall, "I wish to see some of the rooms. A building this old must have some traces of moments past."

Well that was a fairly simple request. Frost lived here, but he didn't exactly run the place. No one did, that was the beauty of it. So letting this stranger wander around wouldn't be a bother. Besides, there was a chance he could come across something Frost might find interesting. Grinning, Frost inclined his head to the stranger.
"No trouble at all. I haven't much bothered looking through the place," he paused to turn to the side and gesture to the doorway behind him, "so be my guest."

Balikrag gave a nod, then strode past the... whatever he was. Behind him lay a hall with many doors that, at its end, connected to another hall at a ninety degree angle. Wanting to see how far this second hall went, Balikrag made his way toward it.

"You may not have explored much, but you have certainly seen some of the building," Balikrag said as he walked. The ceiling was behaving strangely, and though he gave it an odd look, he did not stop.

This lack of curiosity might have been uncharacteristic had he not been so used to a changing surface - his every footstep left a path of frost, and they certainly did so now.

"May we start where it is familiar to you?" he asked, "I'd hate to find myself lost."

(Sorry, sorry! Been busy~)

Frost followed the creature at a leisurely pace. He shrugged at the creature's words and chuckled.
"You misunderstand. I do not care about details or knowing my surroundings. I have walked most of the cathedral, I simply haven't looked through it, if that makes sense." The man paused and tilted his head with a knowing smile and a glint in his eye. "My kind does not get 'lost'."
He was quite aware that the creature did not understand what he was, nor what he meant by 'residents'. Frost was enjoying this...probably too much. Thinking to throw this creature a bone, so to speak, he grinned mischievously.
"Pay no mind to the shadows, they are restless these days."

((Muh. Words.))

'Shadows,' eh?

Balikrag suppressed an aggravated frown. He had seen his share of shadows, and none of them moved on their own. He did not appreciate the cocky, disrespectful air this strange being had about him, and he would not care to entertain him for long if it meant he must endure such treatment.

He was far too used to watching those before him tremble.

"A pity," Balikrag rumbled, perhaps a bit softer and less welcoming than when he first spoke.

He had, by now, reached the end of the long hall, and paused to stare down what it, rather anticlimactically, held - a third long hall.

Frost began to build in earnest underneath him now that he had stopped, and of a much sturdier stuff than the already-melted path he left behind him. His tailtips, perhaps his warmest feature, slowly twitched back and forth as he mulled over what only the whispering shadows would know, should Frostbite continue to ignore them.

"Then I suppose we'd best stay together," he said at length, his voice restored to its former sense of calm. "You seem to be confident, but I would certainly find these walls my tomb. Especially now, as I care to try some of these doors."

The panzer turned and met Frostbite's eyes, waiting for a response.
