Once a grand cathedral dedicated to the Holy Triumvirate, all that remains now are ruins ever since the religion was rejected strongly in 1823. While the religion is back in favor, the cathedral was never restored. (+3 Defense, +2 Offense)

The Mortal [Self | Quest]

Postby CookingwiththeCobra » 08/31/2016 6:46 PM

Stan frowned as he looked up from a plant he was replotting. Something was wrong. Sighing he dusted the dirt off his skeletal fingers and and put the plant back in its rightful place. Peering around his shop for a second he then disappeared and landed in different place in the Underworld. It was a dark cave that barely held any light. A low growl could be heard from the shadows. A large werewolf crept into view with its teeth bared and the hair on its back was standing up.

“Terhi here now,” someone called the wolf. A person covered in a large black cloak came out from the darkness and the werewolf sat by her side loyally. “Stan what do I owe this visit to?” the cloaked being asked.

Stan sighed, “I'm terribly sorry for the short notice India but there seems to be a disturbance on the edge. Some… imbeciles have seemed to be caught in the loop. There under the impression that they might meet someone with my status to remove them from it.”

Under her hood India rolled her eyes, “idiots. I will take care of them. Terhi is need of a walk anyways.”

“My many thanks,” Stan bowed.

“Please hold the curtseys for people who are fooled by you,” India scowled.

Stan chuckled, “I knew I picked wisely when I decided to keep you around mortal.” He walked off with a slight wave of his hand expecting them to manage on their own from here.

It had taken two weeks to travel from the cave they called home to the edge of the Underworld. There was a small town called The Edge were very few lived and just beyond that was a desert like expanse that was an endless loop. It was filled with terrible winds and sand storms so strong that if not properly dress could rip the skin off the body. Once you started walking through it, it seemed endless but at a certain point it zaps you back without your knowledge so it seems that you could walk forever.

Stepping into an inn she held Terhi close to her side so she didn't snap at any passerby’s. Setting a bag down onto the front counter she waited until the innkeeper opened it up. Pouring out the contents the keeper could see that it was a mineral inside. The light caught the jagged stones making the black mineral shine purple. Nodding in appreciation she pulled out a dusty book and a set of keys. Writing something down the innkeeper looked back up, “name,” she demanded.

India lifted her head slightly letting the innkeeper get a glimpse of her face. Her icy blue eyes glaring daggers at the woman. Nodding in understanding and slight fear the older woman wrote down a random name and showed them to their room. Walking behind the lady India noticed small black bat wings sticking out of her back. The women was a vampire, low on the food chain in the Underworld India knew and extremely easy to kill if needed. Stepping into the small room she shut the door immediately.

Terhi hopped onto the bed and layed down. India felt safe enough to take off her cloak as she set her bag down. The only thing that she could pass off as down here was a witch but she knew no magic and so she would never be able to hold up that ruse. She was completely human and that was extremely dangerous for her if that knowledge got out. It had been Stan who permitted her to be around. As he was the god of the underworld he had the power to allow her to live even though humans could normally only last two weeks down beneath the mortal world.

Her and Stan were with an understanding. He kept her alive and her secret safe and she would keep his secret and aid him with the more gruelling tasks that he could care less about. She was starting to get a reputation. The Underworld was starting to call her death. With her dark cloak, two swords, werewolf, and icy blue eyes the creatures actually feared her. They didn't believe that someone of higher power ruled down here but they did fear that something that they had never seen before came and went more stealthy than a ghost and left dead of all kinds wherever it went.

The damned didn't have pure eyes like hers, blue. The witches and Stan were the only ones that had any sort of 'happy’ color in their eyes. If you called what Stan had eyes. The witches reflected the magic that the did best. Any other creature down here had black, white, brown, or red. The colors of something evil. Hers were frosty blue that could send chills through even the most hellish creatures.

Tomorrow after a night's sleep she would head out in search for the creatures that were in the loop. Sadly since she was still human she needed sleep to survive.

She stirred from her sleep in the middle of the night when she heard Tehri giving a low growl in the dark. Slipping her heavy tattered cloak on she swiftly moved to the door and listened. There was hushed voices outside. She could only pick up a few words but what she did make out it sounded like the keeper had sold her out. Someone on the other side of the door mention the Reaper and she knew they were definitely talking about her. Silently moving across the room she pushed open the window and threw her bag out it. India snapped her fingers and motioned for Tehri to jump out.

The door blasted off its hinges as three very large, very angry creatures charged into the room. They looked around in search for her. She sat in the window sill her cloak billowing around her. Her blue eyes shining in the dark room. When they spotted her grinned, “I will be coming for you as soon as I'm done here. Be ready.” Then she jumped out of the window and disappeared into the darkness.
