"H-Human tongue?" Bambam said. He knew what that meant, but the fact that she had used those words weren't reassuring. If reassuring was what she was trying to be, anyway, which he wasn't at all sure that she was. In fact, he had to wonder if she was also trying to scare him.

No, she was definitely trying to scare him. The next things out of her mouth confirmed it. "Hey! Kidnapping kids is against the law!" he said. He would have tried to run, but... it didn't feel like he'd get very far.
