Once a grand cathedral dedicated to the Holy Triumvirate, all that remains now are ruins ever since the religion was rejected strongly in 1823. While the religion is back in favor, the cathedral was never restored. (+3 Defense, +2 Offense)

Overcast slowly opened his eyes, feeling a horrible aching pain somewhere in his right foreleg. But he must ignore it. That was what he had been taught. Struggling to remember where he was, he saw a female Glacial Draculi standing over him. Seeing her up close brought the memories of the last few minutes rushing back. Cast snarled and jumped quickly to his feet, stumbling a little. It would be mote than his life was worth to let anyone see him in such a weakened state.

I listen to the wind
to the wind of my soul
Where I'll end up well I think,
only God really knows
I've sat upon the setting sun
But never, never never never
I never wanted water once
No, never, never, never

I listen to my words but
they fall far below
I let my music take me where
my heart wants to go
I swam upon the devil's lake
But never, never never never
I'll never make the same mistake
No, never, never, never

Sai leaped back, surprized at the tali's sudden movement. once she recovered from this, she slowly walked toward him a bit more. Her head was bowed in a submissive action, showing that she would not attack. But still... She stayed silent. As was her nature. As somewhere in her memories, she was taught to do. It was a warning. For she use to talk. The problem with that was, she used to blabber.
You may call, you may call
But the little black cats won't hear you.
The little black cats are maddened
By the bright green light of the moon;
They are whirling and running and hiding,
They are wild who were once so confiding,
They are crazed when the moon is riding
You will not catch the kittens soon.
They care not for saucers of milk,
They think not of pillows of silk;
Your softest, crooningest call
Is less than the buzzing of flies.
They are seeing more than you see,
They are hearing more than you hear,
And out of the darkness they peer.
With a goblin light in their eyes!

Cast stayed frozen, his head held high and his tail bushed out. His lip was still pulled back, and a low growl escaped his throat. This was his place! What was this intruder doing here?  Still facing the Glacial Draculi, he let his gaze stray to the door. Someone knew where he was now. There was only one thing for it. He would have to run. Backing up slowly, Cast gave Sai one last, long look and swept around and limped as quickly as he could out of the room. All of a sudden, he felt a pang of regret deep inside him. Where had that come from? Well, no matter. He must ignore it.
As he had been taught.

Sai looked after him, wondering if she should follow. He didn't seem to want to be around anyone, but didn't that make him more interesting. Like he was hiding a secret. She loved to find secrets. Like in that box, to get it open was her goal. To find it's secret. That was what she had done before she found the meadow. Find secrets, reveil lives. Sometimes the person would hate her, be out to kill her, which was why she stayed hidden at the meadow. Others never knew that she existed. She would do what she was trained to do.

((Cyn, don't you just love RPing. I know nothing about Sai's history, but letting her tell the story, I'm learning something...))

Cast turned a corner and stumbled into a dark room. Not able to go any further, he collapsed on the ground panting. Slowly, he began to lick his bleeding leg, thinking. Thoughts that caused him happiness, yet great pain. Usually he pushed these thoughts away, into a mental box. He rarely took them out. But now he felt he had to.

The Draculi had reminded him of someone. He thought he knew who, too. Maybe someday he would see her again, and they could talk. They would share experiences and adventures, and...

No. He mustent let himself dwell like this. He had things to do. But he could let himself rest for a while. There was no going anywhere right now.

Sai turned the corner after him. She looked around, not knowing if he had continued down the hall or ran into that room. She strained her ears, but gave up quickly, for he looked trained. He probably knew how to sneak. After a while of thinking, she found her eyes drawn to the floor below her. Of course! He had been bleeding. He had left a small trail, leading right to the entrance of the door.
Sai slunk against the wall, stoping right before the door. She had found him, and had him cornered in the room, but she didn't know what to do from there. She didn't want to just attack. That she had been trained to do when seen by the one she was after. She saw something different about the Tali, andshe didn't know why. She didn't know why she wouldn't attack. She should attack! That was what she was trained to do. She'd done it many times before, but she could not get her self to attack this tali.

Overcast was now sitting up, every fiber in his soul listening for the slightest sound. Would the Draculi follow him? She seemed curious, yet reserved. Perhaps she would just mind her own business. He shook his head. Yeah, right. If anyone had minded their own business, he wouldn't be here right now. Cast felt the familiar aching pain in his heart, but he pushed it away.
Something inside Cast possessed him to stand up and walk quietly to the door. He wasn't sure what he was doing, and his mind screamed in protest against it. But his heart told him differently. Stepping in a dignified way over the threshold, he found the Glacial Draculi right where he had expected to--outside the room. Cast slowly dipped his head and put one paw foreward, his nose almost touching it. Lifting his head again, he spoke, his raspy voice cracking from disuse. "I am Overcast. What are you called?"

Sai jumped, surprised that the Tali had spoke to her, not to mention that he had come into veiw with out being asked. She found herself wanting to answer, though she hadn't talked to anyone in probably how long? A year? Two? SHe couldn't remember. She opened her mouth, wanted to answer, then closed her mouth again. Finally she answered. "I....I'm Saihyou.." Her voise didn't sound much better than his, and she surprised herself with the answer. "Call me Sai."

After a little while, the Sai spoke up, quietly. "I need to go somewhere. It's important..." She told him, before running off. She would have to meet the others soon.

Overcast stood stunned for a moment, suprised he had made sounds with a mouth he had not talked with for so long...then he realized the Draculi he had talked to was leaving. He felt an urge to continue the conversation, but he could not seem to unstick his throat. I need a lot more practice at this socializing stuff..., Cast told himself. Shaking his head hard, Cast called after Sai, "OK, Sai. Call me Cast!"

The Draculi was gone. But Overcast felt sure he would meet her again someday. For now, he had a mission. The familiar flame of hatred boiled up inside him again, and he grimaced. He would like some help with this. But no. This job was for him and him alone. But at least he had a...well, he thought Sai was a friend. Cast had never really had a real friend before, besides-

Cast shook his head, hard. No time to dwell on thoughts. It was time to go. Smiling a little, he turned to leave the Cathedral.
