Could there have been another way to get here? If there was I didn't see it. In the pen there was a loose end of the magic laced fence surrounding the area that a few of the animals crept through to get away. A couple of kuhnas did it, and even my brother Mako did it. When he came back from his last adventure he told me of the adventure he'd had and the friends he'd made. I felt it was my time. I had done the same as everyone else, sneaking through the fence at night, but I was afraid I had alerted one of the other pen members, and I didn't want that.
As I sat by a small stream, I watched the leaves that had begun to be sdwept away from the branches of the of the autumn colored trees surrounding me. They fell into the stream, and were carried away. Then I heard a faint crackling. I peered around, and saw a black shape approaching.

[Micah]

Void Fellox

I always kinda liked her. I've wanted to get close to her for some time, but always backed out at the last second. Then I saw her (for the first time) leaving through the small hole dug under the loose part of the fence. I thought to myself, "If she is really leaving for good, she needs protection. I've got to do this. I can't shy away this time."
So I followed behind her. I kinda felt like a stalker doing it though. It made me want to just head back, and let her go out on her adventure but I knew I couldn't do that. I wouldn't back out again. I finally caught up to her when she stopped at a stream in the middle of the forest. She was beautiful. She was laying flat on a large rock overhanging the stream, silhouetted against moonlight. Crackle.
She turned, and I saw a frightened look in her eye. I stood there, cemented to the forest floor. I couldn't speak. She got up off her rock and cautiously sauntered toward me.

[Micah]

So yes, I was really frightened, ok? I was trying to be as sneaky as possible and I'd thought I'd lost the world that I knew completely, and I turn around to find a small shard of it comes right back to stab me. Well, a big shard. It was another fellox.
I've gotta say, after I turned around my feeling of breathlessness changed direction. He stepped out into the moonlit grass and I could see him clearly, sleek and dark. He was stunning. I'd noticed him around the pen a few times, but never really jabbed at any kind of conversation. Besides, I was busy alot, so I was never trying to... chase after anyone.
"Hello... um, what are you doing here?"

[Micah]

Tessen stood frozen. Should he run? He kept telling himself no he could not, but the thought kept crushing him. He eventually, after a long pause, gulped and replied, "Eh, Hello. I, uh, I saw you get up in the middle of the night and slip out, and I thought you'd get lost or scared or hurt or something and I... I uh... I followed you out here..." He drifted off as he got the sentences past his tongue and looked at her face. It probably would have been better to stay put instead of follow her and have her look at me like this. He thought.

[Micah]

"You... you followed me? Oh... well that was very nice of you I suppose. I mean, your not a creepy stalker, I know that much. Thanks for looking out for me." I said. I'd seen him around alot at home, and I could tell he wasn't a bad guy. I mean, really he was just feeling a little protective of his penmates. But is that all he did this for? I had a feeling it wasn't. Was I unhappy about that? I didn't think so...

[Micah]

Tessen perked up. She wasn't mad at all? Freaked out? Scared? Not that he would miss any of these. "Yea, I came because you were out on your on and I thought you might need some help, ya know? Um, can I sit down?" He said, gesturing to a patch of fresh grass near where she was sitting on her rock.

[Micah]

I was actually really glad someone found me out, in the end. It was good company. And he was right about protection... there may have been monsters in the forest. "Sure, come on over." I got back on the rock, but in an upright sitting position. I faced the other fellox as he sat down next to me. "So.. I guess we've never really talked before... What's your name?" He had really clear blue eyes. Meredith couldn't look away.

[Micah]

"Oh, my name's Tessen. But I already know yours. It's Meredith, right?" Yea, just play it cool... Don't act as if you've followed her around at all. Tessen thought. At least he was finally able to talk to her. He thought he'd never get the chance at the rate he was going. But was he ever even going to tell her what he thought? Maybe not just yet... The part of Tessen backing away from his emotions took hold.

[Micah]

"Oh, well thats nice." I said, looking up at the autumn colored trees around me. It was really beautiful, especially when bright moonlight lit up their branches. "Well, It's a long time before sunrise, want to go look around? I bet we could find a cave or something else curious like that" I suggested, getting off my rock.

[Micah]

"That'd be nice." He said. Tessen got up too to follow Meredith. They walked down the path of the stream, crunching on leaves as they went. He thought of interesting things to say. He came up with: "So, do you- do you have a favorite hobby?"

[Micah]

I thought this was a very basic question, but I answered Tessen anyway. "Well, I like to read Micah's old books that he leaves out. He lets me borrow them because he trusts me I think. But I guess that's kind of boring. What do you like to do?"

[Micah]

Tessen considered this question. What did he like to do? Did he really do anything? "Well, I like to talk to people. My friends are the best, an I'm really happy as long as I have company. And I'm- I'm glad I have you for company right now" He looked down and ran the last few words away from his mouth as fast as he could.

[Micah]

I could feel my face flushing. What was he trying to do? Of course I knew exactly what he was trying to do, but I wasn't sure how to react to it. "Oh. Thanks Tessen." I said, looking down at the ground as well.

[Micah]

Wow. That was smart. Tessen thought. Now it's awkward. You had to do it, didn't you? Maybe now he should just walk back. No, at least she didn't seem mad... Maybe she had actually liked the compliment. Well, more like the blatant declaration of his emotions. They kept walking.

[Micah]

Awkward. Well, to distract me from what Tessen had said, we had cleared past the trees and found ourselves in a field. I realized this was the field I came through to get into the forest. I decided I'd had enough of this adventure. "Hey Tessen, do you uh- want to walk me home?"
