(Suki: Paragon form)
(Piper - Aiden: Both human form)
Suki knew she should've taken the proverbial left turn at Aldrect.
She didn't really want to blame the children. After all, this was a long trip for them. She had promised them sightseeing and a beautiful lake with clear waters that they could swim in and a log cabin to sleep in and marshmallows to roast over an open fire. But Piper and Aiden squirmed and grumbled in their spot just above her fins, and Piper said her legs were getting sore and Aiden complained that he needed to go to the bathroom and it wasn't terribly shocking that Suki had gotten lost. All she'd wanted to do was pull off the road she was running down (with great speed, she thought with some pride) and find a rest stop or something similar, but the road wound and wound away and suddenly she was far from the path she'd been on and remarkably uncertain of herself.
"How much longer, Auntie Suki?" Aiden asked, squeezing his Purine Serraptor plushie tightly. Yes, he'd insisted on bringing her along on this vacation, too. "We're close, right?"
Suki didn't want to admit to being lost. Not in front of the kids. She didn't want to frighten them. She took a deep breath. "Close, honey. We're just making a stop."
"...Can we get lunch?" Piper asked. She, too, clutched a plush toy to her chest, though Suki had always found that Chaos Kitty toy to be dubious at best. "I'm hungry."
Looking down the road, Suki did spy a small town or village or settlement of some sort. "...Sure. We can ask the locals what's good for lunch. But be patient, OK, kids? Thanks!"
Both children hummed and nodded their heads at her. Suki thought they were actually behaving pretty well, considering. Now she just had to play nice, too, and not lose her head over not knowing where she was.
