These woods are nice for a casual walk or even if you have a more adventurous urge. Bubbling hot springs lie just around the bend, fruits can be found to suit every taste bud, and rumor has it there are talking Tali who can speak Lambastian! (+2 Precision)

“Lock up, I’ll head over there and see what we have to work with,” Izor said. “Make sure you grab the key on your way out,” he added. The barn was a little ways down. He was sure that by the time he reached it Azshure would have caught up. He was a little worried that there had only been one or two automobiles, not to mention the amount of helmets. Izor wasn’t stupid, and he didn’t want brain damage because two women had gone off ahead of them with equipment that wasn't theirs to take. He reminded himself that he didn’t yet know the situation, so there was no need to get worked up. For all he knew there was a whole barn full of four wheelers.

Izor shoved the barn door open and looked inside. “Well, there’s only one atv,” he yelled.

“Of course there is,” Azshure said right next to his partner's ear.

“Gah!” Izor jumped. “You fucker,” he yelled, Azshure just laughed.

“There are two helmets though,” Azshure said. There was a helmet hanging off of each handlebar.

“You’ll ride bitch. You have better eyesight than I do,” Azshure said simply. He latched his helmet and got on. Izor looked annoyed but did as he was told and got on the back of the seat.

“Alright let's go,” Izor said. “Not too fast, these things are very good at killing,” he added as they pulled onto the road.

Azshure chuckled, Izor worried about the strangest things. They drove upstream. One of the many streams packed into the little valley they were in. The cabin they had been allowed to stay in was very far into the forest. Azshure feared they were too far away from civilization to find the creature.

“If this thing protects people why are we looking for it in the middle of nowhere?”
Azshure asked.

“Great question,” Izor replied unhelpfully.

“Why…” Azshure shook his head and stopped himself. “If the thing we’re hunting lives up to its legends we should use Andea as bait,” he said.

“we’d be better off using her son as bait,” Izor said.

“I don’t think that at this point Andrea would go for it. It seems we are all set on this thing living in the middle of nowhere. If we could convince her to go back to her house and await for it there, where would we go?” Azshure asked. “Do you think she’ll let us stay in her house? With her sick kid and husband? I don’t think so, and then we’ll be either sleeping on a park bench or driving into town and out of town for five hours every day,” he added.

“We should talk to them about it,” Izor said. He’d been worried they were being followed. Occasionally he heard what sounded like a car, and he felt like he was being watched. When he turned to look and see if anyone was there he caught a glance of the girls trailing them.

“Yes!” Azshure exclaimed. “When you are done making dinner, we should talk to them,” he agreed.

“No, I mean we should pull over right now and talk to them,” Izor said.

“What? They’re probably miles away,” Azshure scoffed.

“Here! Turn here,” Izor yelled shoving his arms in the direction he wanted Azshure to go. Luckily Azshure did go that way.

“what is your problem?” Azshure asked when Izor was done directing him.

“Shh! Keep your head down,” Izor said. He was hoping they would see the girls pass. Izor was pretty confident in the way he had hid them. Sure enough, only a few minutes later the girls came by. they weren’t going very fast, and Izor was pretty sure that they were worried they couldn’t see another four wheeler ahead of them.

“They followed us? How? I watched them take off in the opposite direction,” Azshure said. “Do you think they just hid out until they saw our dust?” he asked.

“I think it's more likely that they followed us, than all four of us just happening upon the same road.” Izor said. He was interested in finding out why they had been followed. He knew Celeste probably didn’t have much information on the creature they were after, and it appeared that Andrea only knew the stories surrounding it. It was too bad that both Izor and Azshure had no knowledge either.

Azshure got out of the predicament Izor had put the atv in. It took a little bit of finagling before they were back on the road again. He wasn’t sure how the women would react when they realized that Azshure was behind them. “Keep your eyes open for anything that looks like a creature’s home,” he reminded Izor.

“I’ll do that,” Izor replied dryly. They were speeding down the road, one that was steadily leading them towards the peak. The mountains that surrounded them weren’t incredibly tall, but it would still take a climb to get to the top.

"See them yet?" Izor asked. He'd been looking into the forest, and off the edge of the cliff. So far he hadn't seen anything that looked like an animals home.

"No, They must really be speeding," Azshure said. They hadn't passed any other roads, and there were no tracks leading into the forest. Azshure was beginning to worry about the girls.

Celeste had been going pretty slow when Azshure had seen her drive by, but as they approached the other vehicle it was driving much faster. If the girls had been following them, they must be panicked to realize that they had lost the vehicle they were trailing. “Hey!” Azshure shouted, and he honked the little horn on the AVT. He saw the girls jump, look at him, and then they slammed on the breaks. Azshure had to go around them so he and Izor didn’t crash.

“What do you think you’re doing?” Izor asked while pulling off his helmet.

“Following you, what did you think we were doing?” Celeste said shamelessly.

“Following us?” Azshure asked.

“Yes, following you,” Celeste said slowly. She figured their thick skulls were a barrier to language.

“Why?” Izor asked.

“Because we have no idea what we’re doing,” Andrea said.

“Don’t tell them that!” Celeste shouted.

“OH! Andrea shouted back.

“I’m sorry, I didn’t realize we were telling them we were following them,” Andrea remarked. “I figured it had turned into share time,” she added dryly.

“Ladies please,” Azshure interrupted.

“Where is this creature?” Celeste asked.

“We have no idea,” Izor replied.

“We think its not going to be in a forest,” Azshure added.

“How do you figure?” Andrea asked.

“Because it protects humans,” Izor said.

“So?” Andrea said.

“So… There are no humans in the forest,” Azshure said.

“We’re in the forest,” Celeste pointed out.

“There aren't enough people in the forest,” Izor said.

“I could live in the sky for all we know,” Azshure added.

“So you think we should go back to town?” Celeste asked.

“We’d have better luck there,” Izor said.

“Maybe it’ll be drawn to your son,” Celeste said softly.

Fire lit in Andrea’s eyes. “Maybe,” she said tensely. What was she even doing out here? her son was sick and she was in the middle of nowhere. What kind of shitty mother did that to their son? Andrea hated herself in that moment.

Andrea looked incredibly nervous now. "We should try that," she said. As much as she hated using her son as bait she needed to get back to him. Maybe once they got there she could defend her son and make them try again somewhere else. Although this creature, whatever it was, could help her son. Andrea bit her lip and looked at the ground.
