These woods are nice for a casual walk or even if you have a more adventurous urge. Bubbling hot springs lie just around the bend, fruits can be found to suit every taste bud, and rumor has it there are talking Tali who can speak Lambastian! (+2 Precision)

Izor talked with the front desk lady far longer than he should have. His feet were killing him, but there was little he wouldn't do for a cute little lady. Izor was sure that she had thought he was a catch, at least the story he had given her made him seem like one. He thought dreamily on it as he got comfortable in the hotel room. He could go back down and interact with her further, but he had already taken off his nice clothes and he didn’t want to interrupt her if she was working. His stomach growled and he wondered when Azshure might come back. It felt like he had been gone for ages.

“I hope you like mediocre fast food and cheap booze,” Azshure said with a laugh when he came into the hotel room.

“I don’t even care,” Izor said rushing to him. “I need something in me,” he whined.

“Oh my god,” Azshure sighed. “Just shove this in your mouth already,” he said handing over one of the paper bags.

“you made sure there were no tomatoes right?” Izor asked, looking at the bag suspiciously.

“Do you not want the food?” Azshure asked critically.

“No, no,” Izor said quickly, hugging the bag to his chest. “I still want it,” he affirmed.

Azshure just nodded and began digging through his own bag. He had bought them an assortment of meals, but he imagined they would not have ared if he just bought twenty burgers. There was a small table on the far wall of the room, and a window overlooking the block. Hopefully he could eat in silence, but he knew Izor would probably talk his ear off.

“Did you see the desk lady?” Izor asked. “Her name is…” he paused trying to remember. “Megan or something? I think her name is megan,” he said. “She’s a cutie, totally into me too,” he added.

“No, I didn’t see the desk lady,” Azshure replied. “Of course she would be into you,” he said sharply. “If only all women were like that car woman we met earlier,” he said.

“I think you’d feel better if you  found a few ladies who were into you,” Izor said matter of factly. He saw Azshure’s glare but continued, “or men, whatever you’re into. I think it would be good for you to get out once in awhile.”

“I’m not talking with you about this,” Azshure said sharply. “I do just fine the way I am,” he insisted.

Izor raised an eyebrow but said nothing. There was no reason to irritate Azshure. Especially since Azshure could choose to make Izor walk to the cabin in the morning. Somehow he would hook Azshure up with someone. In all the years they’d been partners Izor was sure he had never seen Azshure with anyone.

For the amount of food Azshure had brought back they ate it all in only a few minutes. Izor was sipping on a bad bottle of wine as he waited for the bathroom to open up. Azshure was a fierce night showerer. There was no way to convince him to get it over with in the morning, and he always took forever to clean. If he wasn't so damn meticulous the shower probably wouldn't take longer than ten minutes. Izor so far was contemplating dumping out a water bottle and peeing in that. He was tapping his foot violently in hopes of distracting himself.

“Alrighty it’s all yours,” Azshure said, patting a towel through his hair. He always loved hotel showers, they held hot water for hours. Azshure made sure he used up those hours in luxury.

“Fucking finally,” Izor gasped, unsure if he could even make it to the bathroom in time.

Azshure laughed at his partners rush and slumped down in one of the chairs. there were two twin beds provided, but Azshure hated the feel of an unfamiliar bed. He would rather sleep sitting up or on the floor. Unfortunately hotels aren't renowned for their cleanliness, so sleeping on the floor was a no go.

“Here we are!” Azshure exclaimed as they pulled up to the cabin. It was cute, and old looking. After an uneventful morning of getting the rental car, and then the two hour drive, Azshure was more than ready to get settled into their job. “It has no electricity, but it is supplied with propane for the kitchen, a few lights, and the heater,” he explained. Azshure hesitated for a moment. Next to their cabin was a warehouse, and then a barn, and on the other side of the barn was another cabin. In front of the line was a field, then a road, then a small creek, and then an abandoned emergency airplane landing strip. Azshure had been told that the first half mile of the airplane strip was a field of flowers that bloomed in the summer. “There is also someone living in the cabin two places down from us,” he admitted at last.

“Like campers?” Izor asked, “any women?”

“I don’t know anything about them,” Azshure promised.

“Of course you’d be looking for women,” A female voice sounded behind them.

“Celeste! What the fuck are you doing here?” Izor asked sharply, annoyed that he had been startled.

“What do you think I’m doing here?” she shot back at him. She had been told she would be staying near other people, but she had thought that she would be staying next to… normal people. Like campers or something, not the bozos who were in front of her now.

“You knew she would be here! Why didn’t you tell me?” Izor asked.

“I didn’t know she would be here. I just knew that someone would be here,” Azshure clarified.

“Seriously Celeste, why are you here?” Azshure asked firmly.

“A friend of mine was looking for a legend of a creature. It was only right I accepted,” Celeste said innocently.

“Friend?” Izor asked. “I didn’t know-,” he was cut off.

“Oh! It’s the children from earlier,” Andrea said with a laugh. “Fancy seeing you here,” she added. “I figured you’d get tired of having to do things yourself and go home,” she admitted.

“Carefully now,” Celeste warned. “They look harmless… but I wouldn’t mess with them too badly,” she told her friend carefully. She could tell by the dangerous glint in Azshure’s eyes that things could go downhill quickly.

“Well, we have to unpack. Nice seeing you again,” Izor said, pushing Azshure towards the door. “Maybe we won't see each other again,” he added glancing behind his back at the two girls.

“I’ll show her who the child is,” Azshure snarled quietly.

“I’m sure you will,” Izor said raising his eyebrow at Azshure.

“Rude! You’re siding with her?” Azshure accused.

“Oh, so it's okay for me to be a child, but not you?” Izor asked critically.

“Yes, you do childish things. I’ve been nothing but polite,” Azshure insisted indignantly.

“I’m childish?” Izor asked. “You’re the one who was going to take drastic measures at a poorly placed comment,” he pointed out.

“Very well,” Azshure said crossing his arms. “let’s just get settled in,” he said.

“I bet there will be mice. In a place like this, I don’t think it's realistic for the forest rangers to keep this place mouse free. Did you see the field out front? It is absolutely filled with gopher holes,” Izor said as they explored the house.

“Look around Izor. There isn’t a single hole in the wall, and the notes in the kitchen say that the cabinets are critter proof,” Azshure said from the bathroom.

Izor rolled his eyes and went upstairs. The main floor was a bathroom, kitchen, living room, and what he assumed was supposed to be a master bedroom. Upstairs were two rooms, each had two twin beds inside. “Damn, they could fit a lot of people in here,” he muttered to himself.

“Of course they could. They used to hold forest rangers here. They probably needed a lot of beds,” Azshure speculated from behind his partner.

Izor jumped and hit his head on the slanted ceiling. “God damn it!” he exclaimed. “Why the hell did you do that?” he asked harshly.

“Sorry! Sorry,” Azshure said putting his hands up in surrender. He looked around the room they were in. He found that there was a lot of random cabinets inset into the wall. For an old house it had a lot of storage space. “What room do you want?” he asked. “I’d like an upstairs room if you don’t mind,” he added.

“I was thinking of an upstairs room as well. With how steep and narrow those stairs are, I doubt anything that got in would be able to travel up them,” Izor said.

“I highly doubt anything will be getting in. Those doors are heavy as fuck,” Azshure assured him. “But if you want the other room, I’m fine with that,” he added. “It seems that both rooms have an old ladder leading outside in case of fire, so we should be perfectly safe,” he informed Izor.
