A cool wind blew as he sat beneath the tree, a light stretch of sunlight illuminating his face and warming his fur. He couldn't believe it-he was a dad! And here he was, ready to spend a day out with his daughters. It felt so surreal, and yet he couldn't help feeling excited.

Anem's tails wagged eagerly as he thought about where he was going to take them. He hadn't been to the forest a lot, but he felt it was one of the safest places to take them. At least, it was safer than a volcano which had been one of the suggestions he had been given when he asked the other pets for help. He was going to show them around, get them some fruit, bond, do other dad-like things...It would be great

(This is just a roleplay by myself to try and earn a little KS and figure out the personality of my new Lucain)

Kappa & Iota

"Come on!"
The impatient voice of Iota echoed through the forest, her annoyance painfully clear in her tone. She was standing on a large log and her legs were twitching in anticipation. Her sister emerged from the trees and few seconds later, her eyes clear with expression. I don't want to be here She seemed to say. The forest was far too bright for her, and besides, she'd rather be alone someplace quiet than out on some family trip.

Io threw her a sympathetic look-she had always been able to read her sister.
"It'll be fun!" She insisted, determined not to let her sister bring her down, "It's always fun with dad...Look, there he is now!" A smile of excitement spread across her face as she abandoned all thoughts of waiting for her sister and began running across the clearing towards her dad

Equicox

"Pay attention!"

"I am paying atten- oof!"Equicox tumbled onto the ground, glaring at the root that had so innocently tripped him as he had worriedly glanced behind. He fluffed his fur out, attempting to look as if he hadn't tripped. Tripping wasn't really his style. He couldn't help but peek behind him again, but his mother and sister were nowhere in sight. What a relief.

Gidjit shook his bright yellow head, prodding Equicox playfully with a paw. "Oh, yeah. That was really 'paying attention.'"He wished his brother would just lighten up a bit. The pup had convinced Equicox to ditch Mom and Moot so they could explore the forest on their own. Mom would be furious, of course, and Moot- well, there was no way she would have agreed to come. She was always dutifully following Mom around, helping with everything and never doing anything fun. She probably would have ratted on him as soon as he suggested his idea. He jumped, eyes wide in alarm, when he heard a female voice behind him.

"I can't believe you two! Running off like that without Mom's permission. Especially you, Equicox, I thought you had better judgment!"Moot's tone of voice was full of disdain as she trotted up to her brothers. "Mom sent me out to look for you –she trusts me, you know- and I'm taking you back to her right now!"

"You can't take us if you can't catch us,"Gidjit argued, smiling mischievously. "Spilt,"he ordered his brother, dashing off in another direction. He let out a groan when he heard Moot running after Equicox. She was faster than him and would catch him eventually. Then she would make him feel guilty and both of them would gang up on him. He raced across the forest floor, leaping over small stoned and sticks. His paws brought him to a clearing, where he blindly charged through. That is, he tried to, before bumping into a black lucain pup. "Oh –sorry,"he apologized to her. Her scent was somewhat familiar, kind of like Mom's, yet different.

{Forsaken will be joining shortly, she has to locate her pups first. XD}

2, 2, 14

Kappa went flying, her tiny body falling backwards at the impact. Fortunately she landed on some fairly soft moss and didn't seem to be hurt. She scrambled to her feet, feeling slightly dizzy.

She froze at the sight of the other pup, as she often did when meeting new people. Her first impression was that he looked familiar. Very familiar. She stared at him for a moment or two, her eyes still wide from her shock. She glanced around, hoping to see her sister, but it was clear she had already ran off. It was just her.

"-And it was so great, we must've eaten around 50 berries! And then-"
Anem beamed proudly at his daughter. She had come speeding out of the bushes about 3 minutes ago and he hadn't been able to get a single word in. It was times like this he knew she truly was his daughter. When she finally paused to breath he quickly jumped in.

"So where's your sister?"
"Kappa?" She wrinkled her nose, before turning round, "She must still be in the forest...I'll go get her!" Before Anem could protest she whizzed round and darted back out the way she came

She was still staring silently when Kappa got hit for the second time that day. Her sister had never been good on her feet and in her eagerness to get back to her dad she neglected to remember how to slow down. Iota didn't seem to be bothered much by the fact that she had sent her sister flying-in fact, she barely seemed to have noticed.

"There you are! Hurry up so we can talk to-" She broke off, noticing for the first time the strange pup sat in front of her, "Who are you?" She demanded, wondering what he was doing by her sister. He looked vaguely familiar but Io wasn't really one for recognizing faces, "Do you know him?" She asked her sister. Kay didn't answer but glanced from one to the other, obviously feeling overwhelmed

Scrambling to the other pup, Gidjit was relieved that she didn't seem to be too hurt. He hadn't realized he had been running so fast. "Sorry, sorry," he repeated, sniffing her just to make sure was all right. "Sometimes I don't watch where I'm going," he explained. "I'm Gidjit by the way, what's your name?" The yellow pup looked her over, still wondering why she looked and smelled familiar. Her colors reminded him of Equicox, except that her wingblades were darker and her eyes blue.

Equicox was panting and wet, having tripped into a muddy puddle as he tried to lose his sister in the woods. Gidjit might have found the whole episode to be fun, -he loved a good chase, especially by a very angry Moot- but Equicox was terrified. His sister scared him, and he didn't like to make her mad. He abruptly stopped, whirling around to face Moot. He sat down dejectedly Moot almost rammed into him, skidding to a stop in front of him just in time. She glanced at him expectantly, and Equicox muttered a quick, "Sorry."

Moot looked down condescendingly, and sighed. "Come on," she said, "let's go find Mom and then we'll try and locate Gidjit." She nudged Equicox to his feet and began to lead him back to where she had last saw Mother.

"She's Kay. Well, Kappa but don't call her that. She doesn't like it," Iota began, speaking for her sister, "I'm Io, Kay's sister." She gazed curiously at the pup, examining him. She frowned when she noticed her sister was still staring at him.

"What?" She poked her with a paw. Kay frowned back and nodded towards him. It was times like this she felt frustrated with her sister. Couldn't she recognize him? She was sure she had seen him before, and his scent was familiar too.

Io blinked at the male, baffled. It was times like this she felt frustrated with her sister. Why couldn't she just say what she wanted to say, rather than miming pointlessly?

"What are you doing here?" She asked the male, hoping to shed some light on the situation

{*pokes teh puppies* You're not supposed to grow up yet! XD}

"It's nice to meet you," Gidjit greeted, wagging both tails happily.  "Oh, I was just playing around. I kinda ditched Mom, but she can be so over protective sometimes," he said this last part quietly, as if it was some great secret. "I don't know where my brother and sister are though, Eqiucox has probably been caught by now." A small frown alighted itself upon his face, but soon disappeared. "What are you two doing here?" Io seemed familar too, her wingblades the same color as Equicox's.

Moot lead Forsaken and Equicox, following Gidjit's scent trail. She finally stopped, close to the clearing, but hidden by the trees and bushes. Forsaken flicked her ears, listening for Gidjit's voice. Hearing him, she sighed. "Come on," she told Moot and Equicox. The lucain started to push her way out into the clearing.

Io grinned back, relaxing now that she had established this male was friendly.

"Nice to meet you too," She beamed, her chattiness kicking in, "You have siblings? Cool! I always wanted a brother. I just got a dumb old sister." Kay gave a small growl of protest, a sour look on her face. Io flashed her a grin, letting her know she was only kidding. She paused, wondering how to answer his question. Should she tell the truth? Why not, it wasn't going to make much of a difference anyway.

"We're here to see our dad," She smiled, then paused, a doubtful expression on her face, "That's a point. He's probably wondering where we are...Oh well, we'll catch up with him later," She grinned cheekily, not quite wanting to leave the company of this strange pup yet.

As a matter of fact Anem was starting to worry. It had been a few minutes since Io had run off and he hadn't seen a single trace of her yet. He paused for a moment, wondering what to do. If he went looking for them they might come back and wonder where he'd gone. But what if they'd got lost and he just stayed there? Making up his mind, he got to his feet and shook himself over. Time to go on a hunt

Locating the space where Iota had slipped through, Anem attempted to squeeze through the gap. After a few minutes of struggling, he managed to get through and began to glance through the trees. Which way did she go? He couldn't make out any pawprints. Sighing, he randomly picked a direction and began to walk down the path...

"We don't have a mum. Well we do, but we've never met her. I wonder sometimes what she's like, but I guess I'm okay just having a dad."
Kay had tuned out of her sister's ramblings. She had a feeling she knew where she recognized this pup from, but she wasn't sure how to tell her sister. That was Iota's problem-she was so busy talking all the time that she hardly ever paid attention to the important things. Kay turned her attention to the male. Maybe he had a better chance of figuring it out?

{Sorry for taking so long to reply, I've been busy. >.<}

Gidjit giggled at Io's joke about her sister, wingblades clanking together softly. "Trust me, brothers aren't all they're cracked up to be," he said. Sure, Equicox was better than Moot, but the black pup was never willing to do anything exciting if it meant upsetting their sister.

"Well, we don't have a father," Gidjit explained, looking somewhat disapointed. "But Mother's alright, though she won't tell much about who our dad was." Gidjit rolled his eyes, sighing. "She won't tell us much of anything, really. She always tells us that she'll tell us when we're older. That is, if we still want to know."

He gave a quick glance at Kay, wondering why she hadn't said anything yet. Maybe she was like Equicox, who just didn't talk much to strangers. But what was so familair about Io and Kay? "It might be just me, but I seem to remember you guys from somewhere. Have we met before?"

"Oh, our dad's like that. Ask him a simple question and no, it's 'wait until you're older'," She frowned, tilting her head to one side as she thought carefully about his question, "No, I don't think I know you. We haven't really met many older pets so if we had I'd-" Io broke off, noticing her sister for the first time. Kay was nodding her head, obviously agreeing with the male.

"Kay seems to know you," Io looked closer at the male. She didn't think she recognized him, although his golden fur did look familiar... "You do sorta remind me of someone. I don't know how we could've met though. Kay, can't you just tell me what you want to say?" Kay shook her head impatiently, a stubborn expression on her face. Io rolled her eyes, beginning to feel rather annoyed.

"Maybe if we met your siblings? I mean, if they're not too far away. I might recognize one of them." She suggested

"Ah, parents," Gidjit said, shaking his head. He blinked, still wondering why he sorta remembered them. "Maybe I saw you in a passing or something," he speculated, easily forgetting the small mystery. "Yeah, that's probably it." Even so, if he could find Equicox -preferably without Moot- he would know for sure.

Forsaken stepped into a very small clearing, ready to give a long lecture to Gidjit about running off -except Gidjit wasn't there. The female turned around, searching for her pup. She'd been positive that she had heard his voice, yet there was no one here. Forsaken must have went the wrong way. She couldn't hear Gidjit's voice anymore. But which way to go? No scent or prints to follow. Forsaken turned back to Moot. "I'll go this way, you two go that way, okay?" she asked flicking her tails to indicate the direction. "We'll back up here in about half an hour, you sure you can find it again?"

Moot nodded her head in assent, nudging Equicox in the correct direction. She dashed off, Equicox right behind her. Once out of sight of Forsaken, Moot stopped, looking at her brother. "You kind of know which way Gidjit went, don't you? Why don't you lead the way?" Moot wasn't very happy about giving up her position as the leader, but Equicox wouldn't let her down, she was sure.

Nervously acknowledging Moot's questions, Equicox took the lead, trotting off to area where he thought Gidjit had run off to. After a while, he paused, ears perked. "He's right through here," he whispered to Moot. He immediately stepped back, allowing Moot to move in front of him.

She stalked into the bigger clearing, with Equicox trailing after her. "Gidjit!"she exclaimed, alarmed at seeing him chatting with two other pups. Didn't he remember Mother's rule about talking to strangers?

Gidjit's eyes widened, taking in Moot's scorn. He rotated his head back to Iota and Kappa. "Uh, this is my brother and sister,"he explained, his voice weak

"That would make sense. Kay's more observant than me so she'd probably recognize you, even if she'd only saw you for a second." Io nodded. Kay thought for a moment. That could be an explanation, but she sorta felt like there was more to it than that.

Suddenly both their attentions were grabbed as two more pups appeared. The female was bright green and (despite being surrounded by green trees) grabbed Io's attention immediately. The male was much darker, black with purple eyes. This was the one Kay chose to pay attention too. He definitely reminded her of someone.

"Wow, so these are your siblings?" Io lost her interest quickly and broke into a huge smile, "Hi! Gidjit's told us so much about you! Well, maybe not that much since we did just meet but he's told us quite a lot. I'm Io and this is Kappa." She pointed at her sister who was staring quite hard at the new arrivals, trying to place them.

Anem blinked. Still no sign of either of his kids, and now he was fairly sure he was lost. He frowned, glancing left and right. He was sure he could smell something familiar...Or make that someone. He speeded up his pace, filled with a new kind of determination. He just hoped that his kids weren't as lost as he was...

Moot blinked, seemingly surprised at being addressed. She couldn't believe Gidjit had held a conversation with them, let alone give them information! Io and Kappa were pups, fortunately, so Moot doubted that she was in any sort of danger. Maybe it wouldn't hurt to stay and chat for short time...Io and her sister seemed nice enough, and, now that Moot thought about it, oddly familiar. Most likely she was imaging it. "Nice to meet you, I'm Moot and this is Equicox," she introduced.

Nervously nodding his head in a tentative greeting, Equicox sat down to think while Moot started to talk. The pretty light blue pup -Io, wasn't it?- faintly reminded him of someone he couldn't quite remember. Some long lost memory, perhaps. The black pup though, stood out more prominently. Staring hard at her, dark purple eyes trying to pierce through her unknown facade, Equicox pondered. Why? That simple thought -why?- made him delve deeper into his consciousness, searching for answer.

A memory came to him. Darkness all around, with a comforting warmth of others surrounding him. Mother's milk, her scent. A different memory now, of his eyes opening for the first time. His siblings faces... Gidjit's face was there, with Moot's of course, but there were two others. A blue and black pup. As quickly as it had come, the memory faded away, leaving Equicox to wonder if it had been only a figment of is imagination.

Forsaken had given up on finding Gidjit. She had lost his scent, and had no idea of where he might be. She would head back to the small clearing, and wait for Moot and Equicox to find her. It was possible they had located the mischievous pup. It hadn't been very smart of her to send them off on their own, she concluded, but she had been so very worried about Gidjit. He could be so troublesome.
