A wide open area of flat, grassy land and rocky trenches, supposedly a wide range of ancient civilizations once lived here. Species that like wide, open areas, such as Gyrophants, Serraptors, and Sahound, thrive here, though only the agile survive. (+3 Speed)

Daylight; bright and withheld only by what few streaking clouds could cover, washed over the fields in it's new, bright glow. The air hung with a soft, early-morning slumber, crisp in the lungs as it danced as a cloud on it's way to freedom. Few birds dotted the sky, hardly more than chickadees and a few small crows, cawing in a distant announcement as they spotted food.

Something else sounded off, again and again, admist a low-key, droning sound..

"Strike!"
A clash of blades, singing as they danced off one another, sparks flying by the sheer force in which the pair battled. Wings a blur against the backdrop of babyblue sky and quickly fading stars, a disgruntled pair of eyes faced down an equally tired, but far more passionate, stare.

"Again!"

They threw their entirety at each other; encompassed in their blades, grunting and slicing and striking back and fourth, back and fourth, hardly slowing as they parried the others moves.

The dusty carapace of the red one watched with a frown. He stood with a straight back, wings folded serenely as a cape would, his own blades retracted as he watched the younger, zealous soldiers spar.

"Enough!  Enough."

As though breaking a silent rule, the clashing pair ceased.
The orange one, crisp in black, panted heavily, landing wobbly, but otherwise successful in his guarded stance, crossing his twin blades in salute across his chess towards his opponent.

The other wasn't quite as delicate, and stumbled in the grass, his blade sheathing the ground as he gulped air, his own dissatisfaction with his performance, seething in his thoughts and eyes.

"You've both improved greatly pupils, but you're still falling short of what I expect."
Gavon, the elder, approached slowly, with intent. The old carpace looked ever more worn in the soft growing sunlight.

He looked his pupils in their eyes, back and fourth. "Havoc!" His head turned, addressing the vialiant, if zealous orange-vibrant boy.
"Your moves are predictable; Gods mercy if you face an opponent who can recal you moves."
"Valon!" His head snapped tot he right, towards th still quietly seething, panting black-one.
"Your ferocity is admirable, but you're loosing your patience far too quickly and far too often. You need more finese."
He looked them over once more before his gaze softened.
"I am proud of both of you and how far you've come. We'll discuss improving your actions before the evenings study over lunch."
Gavon bowed to his pupils, his intent on returning to the castle clear.
