If the informant couldn't remember anything relevant, then their vague and jumbled story could end up completely unusable to the guild, wasting their time in the process to boot.

Or maybe they remembered incorrectly, which was worse. Some people could be very convinced in their mistaken idea. Or they might have merely imagined the incident, resulting in a false alarm. In reality, the number of Pokemon who came forward with information that Kingdra's guild could actually use wouldn't possibly be one hundred percent.

Out of the ten or so Pokemon who had stepped forward from the crowd a moment ago, how many of them had actually seen the mist? How many of them would remember the true details of the encounter, even if they had really had an encounter to remember details about? Nico could only hazard a guess at these things. He had no way of knowing. But it seemed like even Kingdra's guild was having trouble finding enough information.

It wasn't a heartening thought.

The only thing that eased it along was the fact that... well, it had only been a couple of days since the notice went out. As far as Nico could tell, it hadn't been all that long since the mist had started appearing either.

Maybe he ought to cut Kingdra's guild some slack in light of that. However big and powerful they were, they were still manned by Pokemon. And investigating a new phenomenon like this, where you barely had any leads, was definitely going to take time.

"The photo we released," said Loudred, "is currently the only image we have on record. We understand that the visibility of the image isn't ideal. We are making every attempt to secure more visual evidence, but we've had trouble finding the mist ourselves. We appreciate your patience at this time."

Ah... the photo. The photo that had been so disparaged by so many, apparently. It wasn't just the Pokemon Nico and Joli had shown it to, apparently. And from the sound of it, some of them had directly complained to the guild.

Nico had to wonder how those conversations had gone, and what had been said to them to placate it... No, it was probably similar to what the Loudred was saying now, wasn't it?

If you asked him, it was lucky they'd managed to snap a photo at all. He was still a little curious, in the passing sense, as to how someone had even managed to snap a photo of it in the first place. But that wasn't so relevant to the issue at hand.
