Should capture be our earnest fault?

He also remembered that he had to run.

As he ran, more came back to him, though it all stopped after he had entered the demon's realm.  A side affect, perhaps, though he didn't know if it was from the pain or the curse itself.

A "curse."  He snorted.  Who would count this as a curse.

Breathe up through lust

How could this be a curse?  As long as he wasn't caught...  He'd never die.  The lackies of that creature would hunt him down, that's for sure, but without the mask the demon was powerless.  His minions nothing more than shades attempting to catch him.

And I'll find your cure

And though the wraiths did give chase, and though they had stamina that far outmatched mortals, the boy matched their movements, eventually able to guess their movements and leave an area within days or hours of them coming.  The current day mist reminded him of them, though he knew this mist was different.  They weren't due until the next few days.

In there I'll kill, kill

He slipped away from them, time and time again.  Though he had some narrow escapes, his tenacity and intelligence outmatched the simple henchmen of the demon.

In there I'll kill, kill, kill

With your last breath of air, as the Earth comes trembling down

That was...  What, a century ago?  Two?  He didn't really care enough to count.  He just knew he was alive, and he hadn't aged a day.  He often felt grateful that he had reached puberty before he took his adventure, else he'd of had a little boy voice for the rest of time.

Would you give her this last night

Sometimes he wondered about what he'd do at the end of world.  Perhaps he wouldn't have room to run through space, and he'd be captured.  But without the mortal world the Demon would have no use for soul workers.  He'd be punished of course.

Better not get caught then.  Maybe he'd steal a space ship once those became a thing.  Would they be able to follow him then?  They could walk under water, and did not need to breathe, and tracked him under oceans.  But...  Could they fly...?

And give up your life

With your last breath of air as the Earth comes trembling down

He lost track of time as he thought about space.  His mind was still mortal, after all.  It was hard to keep it focused after so many years of life.  And when one didn't need to sleep...  It was important to have the ability to not notice the passage of time.

Would you give her this last night

Though, it was not a good idea to zone out when one was living on a time limit.

He only noticed when the mist in the difference turned a different color only in one eye.

Shit.

Luckily he traveled light.  Nothing but him and a rusty knife, occasionally a blanket or shiny things he liked the looks of.  No time for those though.  He reluctantly left behind a shining septim he had stowed under his bed.  Not enough time, not even to think.

No one runs faster than you can

He left in hurry, ignoring the shopkeepers goodbye.

No one runs faster than you

Right, okay.  He could do this.  Were they getting faster?  Maybe the weird mist that no one understood was quickening them?  No, no.  He had to of just lost track of time.  He could feel the rumble of hatred and anger in the air as the entities approached.  Well, he supposed he was getting bored of the countryside anyway.

No one runs faster than you eat

It seemed that his mist and The Mist were coming from different directions.  Time to choose the lesser of the two evils.

He smirked a little bit as he made his way into the mysterious black mist, fleeing from the worse fog that chased him to take away his immortality.  He couldn't help but relax in the familiarity of the chase, the running, and the rush.  It was comforting, the only thing that remained the same in all the years of living.  How old was he now anyway?  Well, it wouldn't matter if he kept thinking rather than losing the stuff.

(To the end with you... to the end with you)

Back to the old grind.
