The voice was coming from down there. Those rocks made for a pretty good hiding place, if you weren't afraid of mice or snakes. That's why Kia didn't think much of it at first, but if he was asking for help...

Well, either he'd gotten stuck, which would not surprise Kia in the least, or he'd done what she almost did herself and walked right off the ledge. She shuddered at the thought of what could be waiting down there for her.

After all, she'd heard about the kinds of things that could happen to Monday, but never saw anything like that herself. She couldn't just...leave him like that, though, if he was hurt.

With a small sigh, she called "I'm coming!" before carefully picking her way along the edge. The slope down onto the beach couldn't be far. Sure enough, she'd only gone a little ways before reaching a sandy slope down into the gloom. She could hear the waves crashing nearby, sounding rather ominous in the mist, which didn't make Kia feel any better.

Stumbling her way down, Kia flailed around to keep herself firmly in the middle of the slope. Last thing she wanted to do was slip or take a tumble down the side. She was pretty sure the keepers wouldn't let rocks be so close to the path - that would be a serious safety hazard. Still though, she didn't like the thought of tumbling somewhere she couldn't see.

When she felt the levelled out, softer sand of the beach, she turned back to the right. Monday wouldn't be too far away.

After a few steps back, the rock pile came into view. It was only about twice her height at its peak, which she supposed wasn't terribly high as she was just a child herself. "Monday! I'm here, where are you?"

"Over here," came the lame reply. He honestly could stand to sound a little more panicked or something, Kia thought. But then, she'd heard he was often injured, so it made sense that he'd become desensitized to such situations. This was more of an inconvenience than a problem for him.

Picking her way to where she thought the voice seemed to be coming from - darn this mist! - she thankfully noticed a foot. She didn't want to spend an hour just looking for the guy. Though, she supposed that would have originally been the point of the game anyway.

She was not prepared, however, for what she saw when she rounded the corner. Avoiding any kind of actual description, suffice to say Monday's body was crumpled and pinned in the rocks in such a way that it was no surprise he couldn't move. In fact, if it were anyone else, they would most certainly be dead. In the back of her mind, Kia noted that there would definitely be railings along the ledge after this.

Feeling a little sick, Kia did her best to only look at Monday's eyes, which had thankfully already healed. She could tell his face had been injured too, by the very slight bruising and crusted blood all across his face. She hesitated. "Uh, how exactly...am I supposed to help?" she asked.

Monday sighed. It was a wonder he even could, and Kia was impressed he'd even been able to call out to her so casually before. Were his lungs even intact? She supposed they must be. He might heal fast but he wasn't magic. "Just...pull me out of here, I need to straighten myself up," he replied, sounding far more frustrated than scared or hurt.

With a grimace, Kia clambered up next to him. After setting a hand on a blood patch by accident, she quickly avoided any dark spots on the rocks, which was obviously much more difficult the closer she got. She hoped she wouldn't have any blood on her dress, she wasn't sure she could explain that to Mama Maria.

Eventually, she did get to him, and grimaced at what she'd have to do. "What if I hurt you?" she asked with a wrinkled nose. Monday scoffed, coughing a little at the movement. "I don't think you have to worry about that right now," he muttered sardonically. Kia raised her eyebrows. Monday was not a mean person, or dark at all actually. He must have been here a while. This would put anyone in a bad mood.

"Alright, then," she muttered as she bent down. Methodically, she tried tugging parts of his body loose. Some did, some didn't, but it certainly didn't help that every time she did anything, Monday would grunt in pain. Apparently he might not get killed by this kind of thing, but he certainly could still feel it.

Feeling a little sick again, Kia did her best to block out the noise he made before it could make her throw up. This was, honestly, the most disgusting and nauseating thing she'd ever seen or had to do.

She noticed, after a few minutes, that some of the broken bones and stuff that she'd pulled out were already stitching themselves back together. Monday wasn't nearly so mangled as when she'd started. Kia was at a standstill now, though, as she'd gotten all the limbs and stuff out, but couldn't move his torso. She just couldn't get enough leverage without climbing down into there herself.

Monday seemed to sense her dilemma. "You can just roll me out, off the rocks. I'll heal," he told her. She was about to object when he added, "a lot better than leaving me stuck in here, don't you think?"

Well, fair enough.

As she was instructed, Kia clambered carefully around to the other side and braced herself to push him. Slowly and with some difficulty, Kia managed to dislodge him. She managed not to shove him too hard, so he only fell down onto another rock. That was good, she supposed.

Picking her way back around, and trying not to wind up in the hole Monday'd left behind, she jumped down next to him. Leaning over him, she frowned. "You gonna be ok?"

Monday blinked up at her and nodded slightly as he shifted an arm with a few cracking sounds that Kia tried hard not to think too much about. Only a moment later, the arm was whole and intact and shifting all sorts of other body bits back to where they ought to be.

She had to turn around after a minute and put her hands over her ears. It was just sickening to watch and not much better to hear. Necessity had gotten her through the first bit, since she couldn't just leave him like that, but there was nothing she could do now but wait.

A hand finally tugged on hers after what seemed like an hour. It wasn't nearly that long, actually, but it certainly felt like it. Kia lowered her hands from her ears and turned to look at Monday. He was still bruised and swollen in several places, not to mention how bloody he was, but at least he was intact. The rest would probably be all healed up within the hour.

"Thanks, Kia," he chirped, eyes as bright as his smile. Now that was more like the usual Monday. "Don't mention it," she muttered. She honestly hoped he wouldn't, she'd rather forget this whole ordeal ever happened. He blinked, suddenly looking a little sleepy. "I think I better go find my mom. Or dad. Healing like that makes me sleepy," he said. With that, he turned and clambered down the rock pile, waving at Kia from the bottom. Last she heard before he vanished into the mist was a laughing, "Dad's gonna kill me."

Kia crawled down off the rock pile and frowned at her hands. They had dark brown stuff on them that felt sticky. No doubt blood. Carefully, she made her way toward where the sound of the ocean was coming from. At least, where she hoped the sound was coming from. It echoed too much. She would have to be super careful not to fall in, this would be a bad day for that to happen.

Kiru

She hadn't made it terribly far before a figure suddenly appeared out of the mist. It spotted her just about the same time as she spotted it, and she heard a groan. "Oh man! I thought I could find a better hiding spot before you came along!" Kiru's voice came to her before she could properly make out his figure.

The boy drew closer, and she could just make out his smile before it suddenly dropped off his face at the sight of her.

She honestly had never heard such a high-pitched scream. Her hands reflexively came up over her ears as she flinched. The next second, she glared at him. His naturally pale face had somehow gone even more pale as he gaped at her.

"What was that!?" she exclaimed. He blinked. "Are you...are you okay!?" he asked, sounding a little panicked. "Of course I'm okay!" she snapped. Kiru seemed confused and skeptical. "Why are you asking, anyway?" Kia thought to ask.
