Firework

Firework sat under a tree, still wondering why he was here. Kiari won't tell me. Hey, where did she go.
He looked around. "Oh well," he muttered and stood up. "She did say something about 'leaving me to my surprise.'"

Dream walked along one of the many paths of Terrace Park with her I-pod playing softly in her ear. She didn't care what song it was, just so long as it was calming. She had been sent out to meet someone, but she didn't know who they were. She thought his name was Firework, but she wasn't sure. That was the reason for the calming music. She was always nervous around males. She was supposed to meet him near one of the giant ancient oak trees by the small pond. She soon saw another kuhna sitting beneath one of the trees. She stepped gingerly off the path and walked over to the kuhna. "Hello," she said nervously. "I'm supposed to meet someone here... I think his name is Firework. Have you seen him?"

Firework stood up. "I'm him," he said and shook some leaves off his head. "You're Dream," he asked.

Dream smiled shyly. "You're right," she said. "I am Dream." She quickly turned the I-pod off and put it into her small body pouch along her side. "Pleased to meet you," she said in her soft voice. She studdied Firework with her eyes. He gave her the impression of a strong, and possibly reckless male.

Firework smiled and glanced around. "Well, what do you wanna do," he asked and kicked a rock next to his paw.

Dream looked around as well. "We could go for a swim," she suggested. She glanced toward the pond and saw the water sparkling. Then she turned back to Firework. She then closed her eyes and counted to ten. She could feel her heart beat increasing rapidly. Why did she always get to nervous and afraid arounf those of the opposite gender? When she opened her eyes and was composed. "Wanna race?" she asked Firework with a playful grin on her face. Before he had a chance to answer she took off running toward the pond.

Firework smiled and ran after her, soon next to her. He met her pace perfectly. It was just a strange little habit he had.

You know those annoying little habits people have like putting their shoes on last when getting ready for work of school, or setting the table a certain way, those types of things. Firework just meets the person he's racing pace perfectly, then get ahead.

Dream worked hard to keep up with Firework. She hadn't realized they were so close to the water when, SPLASH! She felt the water rush up to meet her. The water splashed all over the place. She dove under the water and felt it rush against her face. What a refreshing feeling! She soon came to the surface for a breath of air. How she loved the water!

Firework was under the water still. He lept up and dove back down in one motion, like a dolphin jumping out of the water. After a few seconds of being underwater, Firework's head popped up. A piece of hair had fallen into his eyes.

Dream watched as Firework dove through the water. He seemed like he loved the water too. She, too, then swam under water. When she popped up from the water she found herself unnnaturally close Firework. She saw the hair fall into his face and had the urge to move it. Without realizes her movement she pushed the hair to the side. After all was said and done she felt herself blushing. "Sorry," she murmured.

Firework cocked his head. "Oh, it's nothing," he said, although he could feel his heart strangly beating faster. What, I'm not nervous! he thought. He clenched his teeth together to keep them from chattering although he wasn't cold.

Dream smiled at him. What now? she thought. She struggled to come up with something to fill the awkward silence. She thought of something. Maybe he like to play tag? She tapped his shoulder and swam as fast as she could toward land. "You're it!" she called from her vantage point closer to the shore with a grin across her lips. Sure, she was a good swimmer, but tag was better to play running on all four on the solid ground. Her heart was racing and she could feel the blood pumping through her viens as she swam until she reached dry land. Her feet didn't miss a beat as she ran out of the water.

Firework swam out of the water as fast as he could and ran after her. He was slower than before because of the swimming. That's one thing I don't like about being in water: you have to keep moving. He ran faster, the wind drying his dripping fur.

Dream turned to see Firework running toward her with his dripping fur. She realized hers was wet too, but it dried rather fast. She continued her run around the trees and across the grass. She could feel herself tiring.

Firework jumped over a stick, but ran into a tree. He fell down into a sitting position, his head throbbing. Why didn't I avoid the tree, but avoid the puny twig.
