"I wonder what everyone else is doing at the Caverns." Squeak said to himself.  He hadn't gone to far from the camp, but walking around was quite boring to such a young child.  He needed something to do, something to occupy him.  Just then a Wispwing fluttered by him.  Intrigued, he followed it a ways, and at the last minute, tried to jump for it.  But his small legs weren't able to get him up there, and it flew off.  "Drat!" he said unhappily.  Noticing how far he had gotten from the camp, Squeak began to follow his trail back.

Just a few minutes after Squeak had left, Pip began to stir.  It took a few minutes for her to come to and actually remember where she was, since the surroundings weren't what she was used to.  But what scared her was that her brother wasn't in the nest next to her.  "Squeak?" she said.  Being alone frightened her more than anything, and she screamed.  Sure, it wasn't like she was in danger, but she was only a little eight year old in a big park alone.  What was she supposed to do?

[Elektra]

"Pip!" Squeak said loudly.  His sister probably woke up and freaked when she noticed he wasn't there.  He would've done the same thing, so he couldn't say he blamed her.  He just hoped that she hadn't left the tent.  It would be a lot harder to find her if she had.  "I'm coming Pip!"

[Elektra]

She couldn't be sure, but just then, Pip could have sworn she heard Squeak calling out to her from somewhere.  If she was right, that meant he wasn't very close.  How could he have done this to her?  She couldn't stay mad at him for very long though, so instead of worrying, she decided to take matters into her own flippers.  Getting up, she headed in the direction she thought Squeak's call had come from.

"I hope I'm going in the right direction."  Squeak said to himself.  He should have left markers or something to help him find his way back.  But he hadn't really even planned on going so far away in the first place. Maybe everyone was right.  He and Pip really weren't ready to be out on their own yet.  A sudden crack of a twig interrupted his pity party, and he whirled around.  Slowly walking toward it, he readied himself for anything that could be there.

Pip had kept up the pace and wandered away from the tent.  The sun had just started to come up when she lost sight of the tent.  "Well, at least I won't have to search in the dark."  Suddenly, something jumped on top of her.  Opening her eyes, she saw, wait, Squeak?!  "I found you!" she screamed happily.  Realizing who he had just attacked, he got off of her and put out his hand.  "Sorry sis, I thought you were some wild animal or something..." Squeak admitted sheepishly.  "No worries.  I'm just happy we found each other.  How about we go home now?  I'm really tired, and I don't think that officer would believe us if we met up again with a different baby-sitter." Smiling, he agreed, and the two headed back toward the Wilt'no, with a long journey ahead of them.
