Jasmine - Dream - Odette
Several days passed with lots of planning and what-not, getting ready for the big day. Dresses were picked out, the cake was decided on and flowers ordered. Bridesmaids and groomsmen were picked and the honey moon was planned. The couples counseling went well, with lots of talk about spending the rest of their lives together, having children, having grandchildren, raising their children and spoiling their grandchildren, all kinds of mushy love talk, and the only thing that really bothered the couple would be the wedding expenses. But when Rhea was up late worrying about it, Pan would always be there, telling her not to worry, they’d find a way.
On the morning of the big day Rhea could have been found in the back room of the cathedral getting ready. Her mother wasn’t there, as she had long since been dead, but her friends were. Jasmine, Dream and Odette, her bridesmaids, were helping her into her dress and telling her all would go well.
“It’ll be fine,” Jasmine reassured her, running a brush through Rhea’s silky, soft hair.
“Yes, Pan is perfect for you,” Odette added with a giant smile.
“You’re lucky to have a man like him,” Dream chimed in.
Rhea smiled at her friends. “You guys are great,” she said with a dazzling smile of her own. Weeks of teeth-whitening treatments had made them a perfect white. After all the hair was done and dresses and jewelry on, the girls left to meet the guys who were going to take them down the aisle.
This left Rhea alone with her own thoughts. Such as, What if I trip? What if Pan isn’t there? A whole string of ‘what ifs’ ran through her head as she waited for her cue to come out. She smoothed her dress out and practiced her smile. The dress was the traditional white, with ruffles along the skirt of the dress, which was loose, while the top was a little more form fitting, but not so tight it didn’t look good. It had a fancy design on it, one with glitter and intricate swirls. Her soft blonde hair was put up in a delicate bun with pins that had cubic zirconium (fake diamonds) on them. Some of the hair hang loose, but that was the way it was suppose to be. The necklace around her neck was delicate as well. It was made of, again, the cubic zirconium, but it was in a pattern that modeled the way vines linked together. She wore very little makeup, but her face glowed with happiness.
