Iyler

A kuhna lay on his back, paws stretched out on either side, soking up the sunlight. The occasional snore would issue from his multicolored muzzle as he dozed. The perverbial "cat-nap" was his specialty. To one side, a basked lay open, sliced of bread and other things birds like to eat peeking over the rim in the hopes of luring one of those elusive avians away from its flock.

A sudden breeze blew past him, starteling him awake. "Huh?" he muttered, proping himself up. He rubbed his furry head for a second, the grabbed a loaf of bread. He began munching it, thinking of his friends back home, espcially Adlantia. He wondered why he hadn't offered to bring her along.

Ah! Now he remembered. He was looking for a Mr. Wilson as a present for his owner, Azura. Christmas was coming, and he was completely broke. She would have most likely scared it away.
Iyler had taken the food from the kitchen unnoticed, found this basket, and snuck off. Now, afer having been her for what seemed like hours, his hopes of catching that perfect gift were dwindling. Maybe, if he had someone to talk with, his spirits would rise long enough for one of those feathered creatures to flutter near.

(Why won't anyone join? *sob*)

Iyler gave a short sigh, then turned his attention to the other occupants of the park. Because he was sitting on a small hill, he could see fairly far off into the distance. Usually, he wouldn't have care who was nearby, but it wouldn't hurt to look around a bit. Who knows? Maybe one would come nearer and talk with him.

Amarris

A Hydrokuhna sat alone, gazing into space. She was bored, her friend Prism hadn't come with her to the park today. Being a biolune pet, he didn't like the sunlight.  As she looked around, she noticed a kuhna sitting by himself. He seemed a bit lonely and sad. The Hydrokuhna's wings fluttered excitedly, now she had someone to talk to! She stood up, picked up her basket, and jogged over to the kuhna. "Hello!" she said brightly, "What's your name?"

"Hey," he siad. "I'm Iyler. You?" He studies her for a moment. He had almost mistaken her for his friend. She looked so much like Adlantia, they could have been twins. But, no. He noted slight differences between his friend and this newcomer: the shade of her eyes, ther way the bubbles floated around her. They weren't the same, but close. Very close.

"I'm Amarris," she said, "I don't mean to pry or anything, but what are you doing here?" Iyler seemed nice enough to her, he definitely wasn't like NightShades, who stared out in space muttering under her breath. Or like Trouble who always had an evil, mischievous look in his eyes. She had never talked to another kuhna before because Prism had never wanted to come to the park in the daytime.

"Amarris, huh?" Iyler smirked slightly. "If you really want to know, I'm looking for a present for my... friend, Azura. Chistmas is almost here, ya know." He turned his attention back to the sky, searching for one of those little birds.

[zomilli]

"Really?" said Amarris absently, "That's interesting, I'm looking for a present for one of my friends too." She sat down on the ground, wrapped both tails around her paws and gazed into the sky distractedly. The clouds moved slowly through the sky and she watched them lazily.

A few moments passed, the only sound being that of the wind, before Iyler spoke again. "I've got friends all over. Cearon and Skullbane are looking for a Hunter in the shrine, the Gyrraptor brothers are in the Slums, looking for a Snicky, and Adlantia is shopping. Christmas is going to be great this year, even with the war." He gave a sigh at the thought of battle. "Azura supports the Purines, but there are a lot of Imperial pets back home."

Amarris watched the clouds silently for a few more seconds before responding. "Zomilli wanted to join the Purines, but she missed registration," Amarris said smiling slightly. "I guess we still kinda support them though. I did tell her she should get a Purines banner to show that we do support them, but she's too lazy."

"The potion shop sometimes gets some badges. You can use 'em to join if you want." He gave a slight laugh. "The Kuhna who works there supports the Imperials. He always sneers at people who want to be Purines. And he scrunched up his face, like this." Iyler mimiced the other Kuhna, the stripes on his muzzle blending together. He had to cross his eyes to make sure he had it right, only to make it even more comical than it already was.

Seeing Iyler's face, Amarris couldn't help but laugh. "I'll tell Zomilli, but she probably won't buy one, she wouldn't want to part with her precious keystones." Amarris rolled her eyes. "I would go just to see that kuhna's face though," she said, still smiling as she remembered Iyler's impersonation.

"Yeah," Iyler said with a laugh. "I've only seen him when we walk by. Somtimes he's got this you-can-get-it-yourself look. He really doesn't like Purines." he glanced around. Still no sight of the Mr. Wilsons. "One of my best friends is a Purine Fenling. His name's Skullbane. Hyper little guy. That's not to say Imperials can't spazz."

Amarris nodded her head in agreement. "One of my friends is a Imperial Sahound, her name's Neigeux. She's really hyper and outgoing most of the time." Amarris's ears pricked forward as she heard the quiet, but unmistakable sound of wingbeats. Her bright green eyes glanced up, hoping to see a Mr. Wilson, but it was only a Polly flying off into the distance. Her ears drooped a little in disappointment. Oh well...
