Almost large enough to be considered a theme park while remaining free to the public, Terrace Park is rumored to have been the site of the Grand Hollowheart's defeat, leading to the Hollowhearts first accepting a pact with humans. (+2 Fame, +2 Endurance)

Return to Terrace Park

"I think the flowers of the plant are blue or purple," Kregare offered, unhelpfully. His eyes searched the area around him, looking for a blue or purple flower. He found none.
"I think so," he replied to her second question, "although there should others here...it's so...quiet." Almost eerily quiet. Kregare couldn't hear the background sounds of the forest; the chattering of birds, or a small animal running through the undergrowth. Only the wind seemed to acompany them.

Perhaps burdock flowers are not in a forest? Astrum suggested, amazed he hadn't thought of that yet.
She was already heading out of the forest. Spotting the end, she halted, and leaned on a tree. She wasn't about to go into the light.
Perhaps there's something happening today? she suggested. Or maybe some predator is out there?

"Oh... good point," Kregare said, feeling dumb. He closed his eyes for a moment, concentrating. "They grow in clumps...I think." Oh yeah, real helpful, Kregare, clumped flowers. That narrows it down. Kregare shook his head, trying to ignore the scolding voice in his head.
He trailed after Astrum, stopping beside her. He sincerely hoped it wasn't a predator, but how would others know and not Astrum or him? Odd.  Or maybe... "Maybe they were chased off be something?" Kregare suggested.

Clumped flowers? There's a lot of those, Astrum pointed out sharply. Sure, like the fact that they grow in clumps was going to narrow it down much.
She indicated for him to go on. She was definately not going in the meadow. No way. Not until it was dark, at least.
Maybe we're in a restricted area of the park? she suggested.
It was possible. In fact, it had been one of her ideas before Kregare came. Still scanning the area for a Mr. Wilson, she hoped the Leebra would help her look after he found burdock leaves. After all, he actually knew what a Mr. Wilson looked like.

Kregare flattened his ears when Astrum snapped at him, but he didn't say anything, swishing his tail from side to side.
"I've never heard of a restricted area before, but we may very well be in it," he said. He poked his head into the lighted area, turning his head back and forth. "What if I help you look for a Mr. Wilson? Maybe I'll spot that borage stuff while we're at it."

If this is a restricted area, do you really think a Mr. Wilson's going to be here? Astrum snapped.
She was in a bad mood. The sunlight, even though she wasn't in it, was 'burning' her eyes. Which meant she was mad.
Calming down, for the time being, anyway, she added, Thanks anyway.
Squinting from the bright sunlight, she turned tail and ran a little ways into the forest.
Sighing with relief, she settled down. This was much better.

"Well, why not?" Kregare argued, trying to keep his anger under control. "If this is a restricted area, which it may not be, that's not going to keep a Mr. Wilson out! They're not going to know a restricted area if they see one! As far as I know, Mr. Wilson's are not the brightest, I'm fairly sure they can't read a "keep out" sign," he seethed. He blinked, surprised by his own outburst. He knew there had been no need for him to get so angry, but Astrum was so infuriating.
"Not that I'm an expert on Mr. Wilsons, or anything," he added weakly, the closest he usually came to apologizing.
He lay down in the grass, curling his tail around him. His ears swiveled back and fourth continuously, listening to the sounds of the forest.

Have you heard any signs of living besides us? Astrum retaliated, still close enough to hear him and argue with him. Because I haven't, even though I've been here for hours already!
She almost never got angry. Almost, that is, not never. This was one of the rare times when her temper got the best of her. Usually her anger was triggered by something like sunlight, talking too much, or someone spotting her during the worst possible moment. Right now the problem was she had been talking for too long, and the sunlight she had almost been in a few minutes previously.

"Just because you don't hear something doesn't mean it might not be there," Kregare said, his tone calmer and more reasonable. "For example, I didn't know you were watching me for a time. You were still there, even though I didn't hear you." He was proud of himself for not sounding angry this time, keeping himself under control. The Leebra hadn't lashed out at somebody for a while and he didn't plan to do so again. "Although you may very well be right. We can't know anything for sure."

Just because you think something is close doesn't mean it is, Astrum countered.
She was really in a competitive mood right now. That was very unusual. Very unusual. Perhaps it was the fact that he didn't avoid her, like normal strangers. She had an... aura that kept people away. Maybe it didn't work this time because she had been looking for him. Not him randomly bumping into her.

"I'm not saying that there's a Mr. Wilson here right now," Kregare retorted, before realizing that was pretty much what he was saying. "Well, okay, I am, but what I'm trying to imply is that there may or may not be. We shouldn't assume," he finished. That sentence hadn't made a whole lot of sense to Kregare, but he hoped he had gotten his point across. "Um...are you following me?"
He become conscious that her thought-speech wasn't bothering him as much, though he still shifted uncomfortably whenever she spoke. He supposed he was just getting use to it.

Of course. Do you take me for an imbecile? Astrum replied, glaring at the unseen Kregare.
Through her anger, she barely remembered why she was out her. A Mr. Wilson. A stupid bird thing. The whole reason she got sunlight into her system, and the whole reason she had to climb a tree. And get angry.
One of those... things better turn up soon. she thought.
She was getting very impatient. A first.
Stepping closer to the sun, she searched the trees for some sign of life. Nothing.
A flash a movement caught her eye. But it was just the wind blowing through the trees.
What is this place? There's no life. At all! she added. Except for Kregare and me. Unfortunately about the Kregare part.
At this point, she wished that he could hear her, yet it still could sound like she was talking, no, thinking to herself. Unfortunately, her voice was very... quiet, and unused.

Kregare's wanted to say something along the lines of: "Uh, yeah" but he refrained from actually doing so. It wouldn't do to make the lucain even angrier. Instead, he let out an exasperated sigh. "No," he answered calmly. "You-" he paused, catching out of the corner of his eye a blue flower.
It had a long thick stem, covered in bristly hairs. The petals of the flower were triangular, making the flower look star-shaped. Many other stems and leaves which branched off from the main one. The word 'borage' was brought to mind as Kregare gazed at it. "Finally," he muttered as he trotted out into the sunlight.

Astrum glared. She heard the pause. She knew he was about to say "Yes." She watched him move over to pick the flower. She knew everything that was going on right then... except for one thing.
Crash! Something furry crashed into Astrum. Growling, she took hold of the creature by it's tail.

This is not a Mr. Wilson, by chance? she asked Kregare, then moved close enough for him to see it.
The thing held out a piece of paper with a paw.

Astrum,

This is your very own Kudagitsune! Kodai kindly found it for you. I thought you might've needed a companion. Don't worry, the little Kudagitsune will follow you anywhere.

Seadust

P.S. Give it a good name.

Astrum glared at those 3 words. follow you anywhere. Like she needed a stupid furball hanging on to her! And to give it a name... she'd name it Night. That reminded her... she never had told Kregare her real name...

Kregare turned back to the lucain. "Hey, Night, I was think-" he started, his voice muffled as he had to talk around the borage leaves.
Crash.
"What the heck?!" a small furry creature had barreled into Astrum. It was cute, Kregare supposed, with black points and a purple coat with white speckles. Astrum and the creature looked oddly similar. "Not a Mr. Wilson," he explained, numbly. "No wings."
He peered around Asturm, trying to read the note. Kudagitsune. Long name. How did you pronounce it? "What are you going to name it?" he asked. MidnightHour, Echo, and Stardust, went through his mind as he stared at it. Her? Him? He glanced at Astrum expectantly.
