Hope nodded. "He then." She cocked her head slightly as Miri spoke. "I don't think they heard us, and even if they did, we would see them because they would fly out of the trees." Then she realized what they had said about Garudor. "They would be big enough to eat you right now, but I don't think they would. They normally prey on smaller creatures who aren't as protected by the bigger ones. You two are normally with someone bigger are you not? Besides, most garudor that you may see have masters...so they won't hurt you.

The Sugardrop kit peered anxiously around. "I don't see any,"she sighed, referring to Mr. Wilson's; "and I thought there were supposed to be millions and millions of them, not just—not none."

 "Maybe they just slept in,"Ziff pointed out. "It is awfully early, you know, and can you blame them if they did? There wouldn't be anything to, you know, really do‚Äîother than fly, and I guess if you did that every day of your life, and couldn't really walk, you'd get bored of it."

 "I wouldn't,"Miri declared, before hearing Hope's words about Garudors.  "Oh. I get it."Miri nodded. "Your our‚Äîour pro-tec-tor. Right?"She sounded out the word slowly, again. "Pro-tec-tor‚Äîagainst pre-da-tors. Like Mom was when we were littler‚ÄîRema's supposed to be,"she added a bit angrily, "but he'd rather sleep. As usual."The Sad Tricky did little else, which aggravated Miri and amused Ziff. "I like you much better than I like Rema."

 "So do I,"Ziff was quick to add, flushing a little; showing emotions didn't come very easily to the kit, who was, truth be told, rather shy. "I think maybe we ought to fly over some buildings,"he suggested. "If we can find a tame Mr. Wilson, maybe we can find a wild one‚Äîlike, you know, a meeting?"

Hope listened to the kits talking, and smiled at them. "Thank you." she said. Then she looked at Ziff. "Buildings? Alright, we might find one there." she smiled again and banked, heading for the buildings looming over the edge. From a distance, she guessed how high they were and she started to fly upwards. She was too busy concentrating to talk to the kits, but she did her best to listen.

There wasn't really much to listen to. Both kits had fallen silent, scanning the landscape. They were still huddled together, but had slowly peeled themselves apart for easier viewing of the land. Miri had even ventured to poke her head and front paws entirely off of Hope's back, but at Ziff's exclamation of anger, she drew back hastily.

"I think I see a promising building," Ziff offered eagerly, meaning a large hut with a few aerial pets sprawled outside. "Over there? Do you see a Mr. Wilson?"

"I don't," Miri said unhappily. "Mom's gonna be so disappointed. But I guess not," she added after a moment of thought. "I mean, like - she didn't know why we came; so she won't be disappointed. Right?"

Hope smiled and leveled off above the buildings. "No, she wouldn't be dissapointed. In fact, if you tell her that you tried to get her a Mr.Wilson, I'm sure she would be very happy that you had tried. At least you aren't just sitting around at home or somewhere else instead." she said. Then she skirted the outside edge of the park, dipping up and down between the buildings. A few times she had to run across the roof when she accidentaly went too close to a building.

"Really? That's great!" Miri brightened. "Maybe if we also got some flowers, that would help." She was jarred suddenly by the motion of running, bumpy after flying; she tightened her grasp instinctively, lurching forward.

"I don't see anything," Ziff shouted over the wind. "I mean, not even a tame Mr. Wilson." He squinted around warily, still huddled against Miri. "It's so cold," he mumbled, shivering slightly. "Are you tired?" he asked Hope. "Is flying tiring?" he added, as if to himself.

Hope lifted off of yet another building and looked back as the kits spoke. In doing so, she almost hit another building. She looked at Ziff worriedly and banked so she was once again flying over the park. She slowed down, circling in the sunlight. "You're cold? Do you want me to land?" she asked. Then she smiled. "You don't have to worry about me. I can fly for a while. Sort of like walking. It all depends on the wind." then she flew back to circle above where the bread was.

Ziff shrugged, flushing a little. "Well, I don't know. I guess I'm okay...if Miri doesn't mind, I'd really rather we landed, but...." He faltered, throwing a swift glance at his sister, who regarded him expressionlessly.

"We can land, if you want to," she finally said. "I'm a bit cold, too." She relaxed her grip, squinting. "I can see the bread, I think," she said. "Is it that brownish stuff?" Ziff squinted, too. Miri glanced at him; he was shivering. "I think we'd better land," she mewled.

Hope smiled. Then she looked back at them. "Hold on!" she called, then she dipped towards the ground. As she had expected, the wind pattern changed and she had to stretch and twist her wings to keep from dropping the kits. Then she turned and landed, running on the ground and finally coming to a stop. She lowered one of her wings to let the kits off and folded the other. "There you go. Are you okay?" at the last part, she was referring to the rough landing. "Landing is something my sister is better at." she said with a smile.

Miri yelped involuntarily, clinging tightly as she lurched into Ziff, who clung just as tightly to her - and then it was over; they were on the ground. "There you go. Are you okay?" Miri heard Hope say over the pounding of her heart.

She nodded. "I'm okay...like a roller coaster." Wistfully, she cocked her head, studying the skies. "They seem so big," she sighed. "And when we're up there, it seems so small."

"I'm fine, too," Ziff said, although he did look a bit green. Approaching the bread, he sniffed at it anxiously. "It looks all there," he said, "so no Mr. Wilson's, huh?"

Hope almost laughed as Miri said that the landing was like a roller coaster. Then she looked worried as she noticed that Ziff was looking a bit green. When he spoke, she looked around at the bread. "Apparently not." she said. Then she smiled at Miri. "The sky may seem small, but it isn't. I thought that too, when I was a pup...before I could fly. My mother would take me and my siblings on her back so we could know what it felt like. But when I started to fly, I realized that the sky really is big."

Miri pondered for a moment, then nodded acceptingly. "I can see that," she said, "Like, this giant water bowl seemed small from far away, but now it's not." She looked pleased by this realization. "Anyway," she went on, suddenly despondent as she leaned against Ziff, who quite nearly fell over, "I thought Mr. Wilsons were everywhere. I asked a Kuhna at the pen I live in and she said they were common. But we've been ages and we haven't even seen one."

 "Patience is a virtue," Ziff offered. "Isn't it?" he added. "I was told it was...Mom yelled it at me when I pestered her for a cookie." He flattened his ears in dismay.

 "Speaking of Mom," said Miri suddenly, glancing at the sun, which had risen to its highest point, "she told me to come home noontime. I'd better get going." She waved. "See ya soon, Hope?" she asked, and then grinned as she ran off.

((I guess this is over now, since it's not been active for a while. So...*pulls Ziff and Rema out*))

Rema lumbered abruptly up the hill. "Ziff, did your sister leave already?" The Sad Tricky looked very put out as Ziff nodded, eyeing him warily. "Well, I've got to take you home now. Say good-bye to your Mr. Wilson dreams and let's go."

 Ziff sighed obediently, and waved at Hope as he followed Rema.

OOC: I'm so sorry! I'm so BLIND! I never see these things >< Well, I guess Hope's comming out now.

Hope smiled and listened to the kits. "Bye!" she called to Miri as the kit ran off, then she looked down at Ziff. Just as she was about to speak, Rema came lumbring up to them. The tricky spoke to the kit, and then the two started to walk away. She stood and took off, flying above them. "I'll see you and your sister again sometime Ziff!" she called down to him, then she flew into the maze of buildings towards home.
