Almost large enough to be considered a theme park while remaining free to the public, Terrace Park is rumored to have been the site of the Grand Hollowheart's defeat, leading to the Hollowhearts first accepting a pact with humans. (+2 Fame, +2 Endurance)

Return to Terrace Park

Rainy days [starts on the 20th]

Postby josieweirdo » 10/17/2007 2:53 AM

OOC Information
For the moment this will be used to let Hydeous out of Terrace Park and for Sheiro to join him. People can't join. Why?
Because I'll be in Sweden from the 17th till the 19th and will only be able to get online with the cellphone; I'll do that sparingly and can't answer to any roleplays. And I'd rather not have people waiting forever for me to reply.

After that, I'm kicking the roleplay of with a Magma Creeper walking in the rain alone. But for now, this is one of out some rainy days and it's for Sheiro and Hydeous to leave with.

It didn't rain. It poured. That wasn't a scientific fact, but it was how most would describe the weather had they been dragged out in it again and been asked. Terrace Park, with its dozen of visitors, booths and varieties of amusements had become more silent, almost void of people. 2 hours ago the sun had become clouded, the ones who heard a thing or two had warned others. And about an hour earlier the finely paved stones had taken an on a darker hue and moisture was collecting in the grass and earth. Even later than that, the earth gave away as it had changed to a liquid substance and Hydeous had heard a Gyrraptor curse as it lifted its boots up and saw they had also undergone a colour-change.
It poured, alright.

Even though water was just ice in a less solid form and Hydeous one who liked his magic, then he was also a Calamikuhna. A Kuhna. And going by the stereotypes he disliked getting wet, even more so he disliked having to dry afterwards and be unable to move around properly due to both looking and feeling like a great ball of fluff with ears. Because of this he was planning to head back, to his home, as soon as possible had it not been for a very curious thing. As he walked on all fours, the keystones in his pocket made small 'cling'-noises when he moved and they collided with each other. He had picked them up on the street, in the grass, from a large pile which a Hollowheart had also walked up to before him. Somebody had indeed left a large pile of the world's currency lying about. Instead of going home right away he would find Josie and Sheiro, at least to keep company with them. One would be out enjoying the rain and the other would have been persuaded to come, but was hopefully beginning to like his new home and thus wanted to get out.

Who was anybody kidding? Sheiro was still as shy as ever.

((Yes, then I'd forgot I wouldn't have too much time and so my longer idea of a roleplay/mini-story including other characters for this 'leaving Terrace Park'-roleplay was skipped))

Traces of ice in the mud? A guy, one which nobody would ever set their eyes on after this, cast a suspicious glance at the frozen water in front of him. He had bent down to touch it and it was frozen and cold alright. But how? Everybody knew that ice melted easier in the rain and just where had the ice come from anyway...? He knew that this ice was not dangerous and gave it a second poke. Rain was now starting to form at the edges of it, but it would take time before it definitely disappeared. Melted away. His eyes searched around again, but they saw nothing or no one of importance who could have caused this...

Several metres away from the puzzled man, a human and a much peculiar Malice Wyrm walked in the direction of the few shops, some streets away. The latter had caused the appearance of the ice and not even a single glance was needed to explain why or how. Instead of a regular Malice Wyrm, one of dark black and colours of red depicting the fire, the snake was black and hues of blue. Colours of ice. The traces of ice left were marking where Sheiro had slithered last, for he was nervous enough not to concentrate on leaving tracks like that.
The two beings did not converse much and the human seemed to be thinking up subjects the most. If one could get closer, read into the minds of the two, then they'd know that the human did not usually have any ideas. She was going to have now. It had indeed been her idea to bring him out here, in order to train.

"Well then..."the voice of the human was not hesitant at all, despite what an audience would think when seeing the two. The large snake was not exactly at ease with the situation and the idea of being outside, but he could be persuaded. It definitely took time, but it was possible and his 'owner' was showing an interest which with a lot of time could even be turned into an advantageous friendship for both. The word 'advantageous' was not what either had in mind however.

Sheiro had been traded away from his previous owner, just like others who had once belonged to Morey, and he preferred solitude but the promise of being taught in magic was too great to pass up on. Josie herself knew some about magic, traits which the various beings had and she had always loved magic. Hydeous and Sheiro were both having an affinity for it as well; the first did truly love his magic and the other felt curious as to what he could learn to perform.
It wasn't the word 'advantageous' in the money/connection-making prospect at least.

Josie would have continued from her 'well, then...', but Sheiro did not seem to be quite so interested in conversation anymore. His pupil-less eyes were moving around hurriedly, as if searching for someone, and while she observed him she saw they stopped to rest on a pair of Obsidian Slydra's.  Also hurrying trough the rain, just as they were themselves, no doubt. The human looked to him and waited for any sign he'd like to talk again. Perhaps he was still finding things interesting to view and perhaps he was just avoiding making any sort of conversation. She never really got to work that one out, not on that day at least.

Pulling together his jacket closer, a Calamikuhna was walking in their direction. A sound of jingling keystones could every now and then be heard, but the Kuhna kept sure that it wasn't too obvious by the look of his pockets that he had money.
"Hi..."the human spotted the being first and waved to him. Sheiro turned his head in the direction and then gave a slight nod, more out of politeness than everything.

Oh, don't you...flashed trough the human's mind when Sheiro reacted with such politeness to Hydeous' arrival. Earlier they had been greeting each other as such, but she had hoped their training together had...She was hoping for things to go way faster, she realised. Being traded, just like that, might put some off. He was a loner and now he had new surroundings to fit into as well. She had to give him more time, of course.

Hydeous' ears were in the direction of the sound, before his two eyes of varying colour could follow. Eyeing the ones who had obviously spoken the greeting, one waving and the other giving a slight nod, he waved back in his own greeting and started trotting faster down the path of grass. The human did the same thing, Sheiro was more reluctant, but eventually they met just about on the middle, right next to a stand stating it was a 'Mysterious Stand'. Mysterious it was indeed, with no owner hanging around nor was anything to decorate the stand. Nothing but a table. Smiling, the Calamikuhna placed a paw on the wooden-table and used it to lean casually on.

Sheiro could perfectly well hear the jingle of keystones, but would wait for a point in the conversation where he'd been able to ask about it. That came sooner than he thought. There was not much to discuss when you had almost just seen each other and hesitating once again, he finally got himself convinced to join in the conversation; if only with one question.

((Running out of ideas? Yep, unfortunately ^^; ))

The conversation had felt a little awkward at first, with the two only speaking and one listener who still was not too much for either listening or being around. But this was definitely a good turn-about and Hydeous smiled, making sure it wasn't too widely, when Sheiro asked his question. The Calamikuhna told of his experience in the park and held up a few keystones as evidence. They glittered in what little sun there was to see, and after they had been shown, he quickly stored them back in his pocket. Not only were his fur, his pants and his jacket getting wet, so was the keystones.
While Josie discussed and theorized the happening, with Sheiro listening somewhat, the Calamikuhna mentally scowled at the rain and shook his two tails. Only for second was there less water was stuck in the fur, then that changed quite quickly again.

The two others noticed the Kuhna's distress, he had never been too good at hiding such things, and only one of them, the human of course, proposed that they move inside. There were several transportable booths and stands, set up around on the park area, and in the worst case they had such a place to go. Hiding under half a colourful sail, one of linen, would not do much good but little it would. The Calamikuhna had a better place in mind; home, but he didn't say so at first. Josie had suggested a place, Sheiro was starting to examine the sign with the text 'Mysterious Stand' and he, after pretending to have some thought, declined it.

The wyrm, inspecting the stand from all sides, didn't feel too happy with having one person in the group leave already, especially not Hydeous. Josie he could do without, but not the Kuhna as it were. He did not yet care too much for either, but he'd be stuck with a person he'd been hanging around with all day. Better let the two discuss and entertain each other, than he'd have to join in a conversation and was expected to stay social.

Sheiro was much better at hiding any kind of feeling, but he felt compelled to keep Hydeous around a little longer. If only to convince them all to walk back together and let him stay to himself a little. He did feel an interest in the magic and he could, if necessary, talk to people but he'd not like to rely on them too much. He was indeed a loner, as Morey had put it, and he preferred to let things stay that way. Becoming social and interact with others, it just didn't seem too inviting in the long run. Slowly, hopeful and hiding it, the wyrm of ice spoke out.

As all the time, in any conversation, there wouldn't be much to do expect listen. Yes, the mud, the rain which drenched them all and the loneliness of things were getting a little on their nerves. If not that, then they both, thinking about it, agreed after a while that heading home to the house and the exhibit would be for the best. There was not much argument as the three headed back, passing the man who had been interested in the ice-trails Sheiro left, and reaching one of the gates which let them out of the park-area and onto a paved street. With no umbrellas and only regular clothing for walking outside, they ended up hurrying, running, trough the rain in the direction of their home.

Home was a long way, but they speeded up; made the distance shorter. Thunder rolled as three beings, drenched and shaking with cold, could finally enter the house and throw themselves at the first, the best spots near the fireplace.

((This marks Sheiro and Hydeous leaving Terrace Park. I'm now going to sign them up, along with Snazzy for the war. But as said, another un-related roleplay will open up in this thread soon enough. That being on the 20th or later))
