As an active volcano, few creatures venture near Nori for fear of being too close during an eruption. On most days there is a continuous slow flow of molten rock seeping through the mouth of the volcano, so travelers are advised to dress appropriately. (+2 to Endurance)

Xanthox slept soundly in his cave at the base of Mt. Nori. He was fairly content with the temperature even if his companion was not. It was, after all, not his choice that the Bleeder suddenly appeared, dripping its toxic blood down his chest. It had just, well, appeared. It wasn’t his fault that he hurt after IT happened.
Within the many years Xanthox and Xanthor had spent together, they learned much about each other and now the two seemed like they got along wonderfully.

Xanthor was awoken, yet again might she add, by Xanthox’s noisy snoring. Soundly was right! You would think a woman would get used to this after 300 years, but you would be wrong. Xanthor is too much of a light sleeper, and had already been forced to change her sleeping habits several times throughout the years.
Firstly, where she slept. The shoulder-thing wasn’t cutting it after about 100 years, she didn’t much enjoy crouching either, being it caused massive cramps in her back. So, she transferred to nesting in a corner of the cave. When that didn’t work, due to a painful tugging feeling on her skin from the distance, she decided to simply curl up between Xanthox’s shoulder blades on his back.
Right now, however, her problem wasn’t the position or even the heat so much as the creature’s snoring. It seemed that the whole Volcano should shake with the noise, but Xanthor knew that was ridiculous. The noise couldn’t be heard at the end of the long winding tunnel Xanthox had dug as his home so many years ago. It was a long winding cavern, sloping downward slightly, and very steeply at some points, allowing his nest to be nice and heated a mile beneath the earth’s surface.
At first Xanthor despised the heat and wanted nothing but to return to Xanthox’s heart where she belonged. But then she discovered the wonders of the “backyard springs” as Xanthox liked to call them. They were but a little farther back in his massive nesting area at the end of his tunnel behind a boulder Xanthox had rolled in place. “To keep in the steam,” he explained when Xanthor had asked him about it. They consisted of two fairly large pools of bubbling water, filling the room with steam. Four small pools of the same liquid, and three large, two small, areas of bubbling tar. The latter was only enjoyed by Xanthox, for he was the one with all the protective scales. All of these pools surrounded an active geyser, oh, how amazing when it erupted.

Privacy, friendship, immortality, amazing living arrangements, no publicity but a fickle legend told to the generations about “a Battleheart named Xanthox, doomed to life eternal”, what was there to be displeased with in this life? Something was missing, for the reason Xanthor was still with Xanthox was not because she chose to stay, but because Xanthox was still grieving IT.

"I was so upset. Today I was sleeping on you like always, and all of the sudden our cave shook! It was crazy! I wanted to run outside and attack anyone who might have been here, but of course, that would lead to immense pain from being so far from you. So, I had to wait until you woke up. When you finally did, we hurried to the front of the cave, and there he was, a Dreamsnare Battleheart. Though your same size, it was still strange. I haven't seen another creature besides you in so long I almost forgot they exsisted! I wonder how it is I could identify him...Ah! I remember. I put two-and-two together. I figured that since I am a Dreamsnare creature, and you are a Battleheart, than this creature that looked like you but had my markings MUST be a Dreamsnare Battleheart! Ah! How clever am I?" Xanthor reported to her host as they stared at the Battleheart, a Draculi, and two human beings.
Xanthox was perplexed. He sniffed the air and growled before retreating back into his cave.
"But, but Xanthox! What are you doing? Won't you punish them?"
Xanthox huffed. "I don't feel like it. Maybe...tomorrow. Now come along, I'm tired and I don't want to have to drag you back to the cave and cause us both harm."
Xanthor nodded and hopped on Xanthox's tail, climbing to his shoulder, and rode back to the den reluctantly.
It's too boring around here to just pass this chance up...what is he thinking? Is he...scared?

Blade the Chaos Serraptor approached the opening to a cave. "Finally, Shelter." he thought.  He walked slowly into the cave.

Jessica was at the opening of the cave with Xanthos, John, and Boots. It had indeed been a long flight, and now they were here, for a Hollow Battleheart's egg. Jessica felt guilty stealing from a creature but she had to. Xanthos needed his voice, hopefully this Battleheart needed a mate.
Xanthos was edgy, slamming his body on the side of the cave, ever since his flight, he hadn't been feeling too well, and now he was in the midst of what his owner thought was a female.
"Xanthos, quit it! You'll do fine." she hissed at him.
Xanthos walked towards her and leaned his head on her shoulder. I don't feel well, my stomach is in knots, and I'm not smelling a female, all I'm smelling is Serraptor.
Just then, as Jessica looked up, she saw a chaos Serraptor walk right past them and into the cave.
I wonder what he's doing here? she thought.
Xanthos stared at the creature. Aye, I wonder as well.

"Boots, is that..." John said looking at the Serraptor.  Boots charged at him "Blaaaadddde" and jumpped on his back.  John smiled. "Jess, this is Blade. I called him to help us out a bit if thats okay."

Xanthos roared charging towards the serraptor.
This is my quest! He pushed his nose against Blade so they could communicate. You need to leave. This is MY quest to get MY voice back! I don't want my FOOD helping!
"Sorry about that Blade, he's a little upset you see because, he, well, Serraptor is normally his food, and this is HIS quest, and I doubt he wants his food helping him." Jessica explained, trying to force Xanthos away from the Serraptor.

Xanthox froze.
"What is it Thox?"
He sniffed the air and slowly turned around.
"Thox?" Xanthor was confused. Xanthox's eyes were full of wanting. "What do you smell?"
"I smell....FOOD..." his voice was a deep, gutteral growl, and as he started to walk almost silently back to the entrance of the cave, Xanthor started to worry.

Xanthos was licking his lips and staring at the Serraptor. His nose was pressed to Blade's.
Run tiny dino. Run your legs off.
Xanthos roared again and backed up a few yards before he charged.

Xanthos began to run with amazing speed after Blade. He was laughing, as if he enjoyed the chase.
"Xanthos! What is wrong with you? Stop it! Leave him alone! I know your hungry but this is just wrong!"

Xanthox was growling at the front of the cave and started to practice lunging.
"Xanthox...?"
Suddenly he plunged into the light following the serraptor and roaring, Xanthor clinging to his neck.
"XANTHOX!!! STOP!!!I'M ABOUT TO FLY OFF!!!" Xanthor wailed.

Xanthos laughed and put one claw on John's shoulder. If you were as hungry as I am, and presented with your favorite food, you would eat.
Xanthos ran around John and continued to chase his meal when a Battleheart bigger than him, not by much I inform you, headbutted his side knocking him over and roared. It was the screeching high pitched roar you would hear from a prehistoric dinosaur, not a Hollow Battleheart.
Xanthos got up and roared back running towards the Hollow.
Jessica stood in total awe.
