Whoops, it seems her sudden outburst had scared him and made him tumble down. But the idea she had in mind... it was so exciting, she could barely keep thinking straight. She had to test the possibility she'd found out; she had to find out if it meant anything. And Ruben clearly didn't know about them or their "culture" or what-have-you; clearly, he was a sort of outsider, and only someone like him could help her. "Er... Sorry, I guess," she apologized when he asked just what the heck was wrong. She didn't really feel sorry, but... you had to be respectful? Or something.
Her eyes shone when Ruben agreed so wholeheartedly to help her; but then it turned upside-down when he mentioned the dragons again. She didn't hide her irritation and sighed loudly. "Look, let's just drop that for now, okay? If you do help me, you can talk about it later, okay?" Ugh, he would bug her again, yeah, but at least he would keep quiet for now. She needed him to focus for what she had in mind.
