As an active volcano, few creatures venture near Nori for fear of being too close during an eruption. On most days there is a continuous slow flow of molten rock seeping through the mouth of the volcano, so travelers are advised to dress appropriately. (+2 to Endurance)

((okay, so the nasty  part of how she gets all those scars is coming up do you want to time skip? Because James is going to be regenerating for a while, his poor body probably won't full work properly for a few days honestly. He'll be able to walk in the morning at best.))

James' body wasn't giving much body heat as it was still working on repairing and replacing so much of its dead tissues and blood. After the first hour of being alive again, his body released newly processed fluids, and feces, all of which were runny and very very dark. It was almost too bad the girl hadn't removed his pants. The heat of the beach was radiating from being so close to a lava stream and that was a life saving gift for his recuperation. His brain's tissue damage was a thing of mystery, somehow it was healing the fastest out of everything, by the second hour he was dreaming in chaotic themes. By the third hour he became aware of someone talking, but it was just his memories, out for a stretch to make sure they were all still in shape. His body still wouldn't move, when he tried to adjust at all, it was excruciating and tingly.

(Oh okay yah sure thing.)

The smell of blood and urine filled her nose, she couldn't open her eyes but she new it was morning now. The cool morning breeze was about and she could just sense the sun had risen. She couldn't move, she couldn't feel her body, and she didn't know what had happened.
Memory's of yesterday filled her head, but so did the aches and pain of what ever happened last night when the fisherman had grabbed her. She was in complete silence, where was she? How was she? Would she survive this one?
Her hand that laid across her back dangled with the feeling of needles as she slowly moved it to slide up to her face. She had placed her hand on what she thought was her lip, but it felt very puffy and at first touch she winced.

James Leer could have and would have slept all day on that beach if it wasn't for his sudden ability to breath fully. He sat up with a painful gasp. Finally his brain was getting the oxygen it needed, but his muscles were all so, so very stiff. Just the action of sitting up seemed to have torn some of them. he coughed and hacked and vomited. His pants were stained dark brown and the smell of rot and death was in his mouth and all over where he was laying. Now that he was to the side on his knees from vomiting, he could see the imprint of his body and the print of stained sand from defecating all night.

He was beyond dehydrated, beyond hungry, not even these horrible smells or how terrible his head and body was throbbing could matter as much as finding food and drink. For a moment he panicked and thought to go to the village, thankfully though his wits came flighty, they came and he remembered his compositor. He always kept wonderful meals in it for emergencies and this was one of them.
First water he thought as he retrieved a massive vase that grounded itself taller than where he sat on his knees. He honestly stole it to sell the hand painted vase but it was indeed full of water. It took everything in him along with the support of the heavy water basin to stand, the stress sent cramps in his legs and he cried and cried as he forced himself up. He wanted to lean straight in but he didn't trust himself to have the strength to pull himself out if he were to start drowning so instead he produced a small wood cup he once snagged just to mess with a peculiarly obsessive bar maid. He couldn't drink the water fast enough and his stomach couldn't reject it fast enough
hacking and vomiting the fluid, James had to take some slow haggard breaths before he tried to carefully drink again. The water was chilled, still the same as the day he stole it from the Hindi women in that cool dense rain forest some months ago.

His bowls made some impressively loud noises and James thought to make a joke about never being so hung over, the water shot out his butt moments later. This was going to take a while.

He had been waiting for the girls call for some time now, waiting for some other form of meat to eat. He grew inpatient and swam to the coast, popping his head out of the water and looking towards the beach gazing at it he cold only see the man who was there last night, should he have eaten him? The girl hadn't stopped him, however she hadn't offered him either. Maybe she favored this one?
He started to walk on the beach after swimming over to it, and the smells protruding from the man were vial.
But no beast really minded smells such as these. Walking towards the road where the wagon would have stood filled with other offerings he stood blankly. No girl, No food, and only to meet the gaze of the man on the beach with all these offal smells coming from him.. Wasn't he a dead man? He sure smelled like a dead man, his face turned almost as if questioning him. He walked over to the man to investigate.

Of course the only thing in all the world that cound possibly bother him on this beach at this moment had to be a dragon; Of course.
James had paid no real notice to the beast when it walked out to the road and even when it approached him, his head was still swimming with his life's memories each taking a turn to have a stretch, his head was filled with noise and his body was drenched in pain and aches. Sitting back down from the large vase, a rather long fall for someone with no control of their muscles in versus to gravity, James let out a groan and fell to his side. It was really more like collapsing, his skin color was still wrong and his sinuses were filled with somehting heavy and rancid and his vission was sensitive and weak. The smell in his sinuses was more like a feeling at this point. His weak arm threw out a platter of roasted chicken, hot and aromatic, he reached out and pulled at its plump flesh. His sense of taste wasn't very strong right now and that was a real pitty for this dish, but it was soft to chew. His hand kept falling back into the sand and he kept putting sandy chicken in his mouth, it really didn't make a difference. How could anyone feel this horrible? Why did he want to live? He really couldn't figure out what he was thinking when he made that deal. Lex Talionis what was that again?

At the point of reaching the smelly man, and then getting grabbed in by the sweet smells of roasted chicken he perked his head up hearing the sound of the wagon wheel's brushing against the dirt ahead of him.
Who would have known just how excited he would get hearing those sounds. She must be running late. He would have to punish her for making him wait for sure, but that would wait until he knew she was all right, and after he feasted on whatever offerings she had for him.

His tail switched balancing him as he stood attentively down the road for the wagon, as a dark figure shown pulling the familiar wagon, Pachi growled ferociously, this was not the girl he was expecting in fact this was not a girl at all, but a skinny boned long man. The mans sweat rushed down his skin as he saw the fearsome Water Deity. He was shaking as he brought the wagon the rest of the way, not even noticing the man on the beach next to their Deity, for pachi wasted no time with this man and rushed him with an open mouth swallowing him down in one gulp. Anger had taken over and concern for his girl. Knocking the basket wagon over spilling all the chopped lamb meat on the sandy road and heading in the direction of the village surly to devour them all if he could not see his girl.

The wave of sand that suddenly seasoned him from Pachi Lipepi running off after being so close made James aware of his surroundings for the first time that day. It took some effort to lift his head and part of him argued that nothing was worth the effort right now, but he did it. Right as he managed a view, it was a blurry scene of somehting bright red, floating infront of the green jungle, suddenly scarfing what he assumed was a human.
James blinked wide eyed, did he... n-no way. He ate her. I was wrong about everything he thought in horror and disbelief, well crap. He just bolted for the village.

The only human on this island he had any compassion for was dead officially so warning the stupid villagers wasn't worth his energy. Maybe he could loot the island after the dragon was gone, yeah, a nap sounded way better right now. There was a shadow over his face being cast by the massive stone vase and his eyes began to close in the comfort. "JAGNA!" the  great eye dialated in his closed vision and he fully stood up with a jolt, something was missing in his expression- consciousness maybe? But James Leer could be seen half naked, shoe-less, reeking of death and feces, running like his legs were possessed, head lulling around, back slumped and arms limp up the beach, he passed the wagon, and ran straight in the direction of the Nori Village on Hyrisland. He looked simply impossible.

Standing alone was the beautiful water basin and grand platter of chicken on the quiet beach.

Searching the rest of her face but only feeling liquid and crusty yucky stuff in her left eye.. Not even wanting to go near her right. She laid there; wherever 'there' was and imagined Pachi Lipepi, wait wasn't it time to feed him? She was going to get beaten for sure; not feeding him would definitely lead to dangerous things towards the village, trying with all her might to lift herself up, but then her arm quickly buckled landing on her side the pain seemed to be somewhat bearable, but maybe it was just her stamina and will that made it bearable, She tried a second time to lift herself, and succeeding half way up, pain shot right through her. She didn't even know where the pain was coming from, Perhaps from every part of her body?

Pachi Lipepi smelled the air searching for her familiar scent, yet her scent had been disappearing. Where was she? "AAAHH!!" One of the females from the village screamed as she turned into their Water Deity "La-PACHI LIPEPI!!" Her scream put a chill through him, her death cry tingled his quills, oh how he missed chasing these villagers to their deaths. One after another, their last words always the same, and so were their deaths, leaving no survivors from his path and only bits and pieces of their carcasses. Her scent had been getting stronger now, he would soon face her once more. That is what he felt when instead it was not a girl, but another man, one that smelled of fish and looked more meatier and filling then the others...

Were James himself at this time, he would have been screaming, his legs were still so atrophied that these actions were causing splattered black and purple internal bleeding in his muscles. The lean, dark skinned man shot from the brush that lined the outskirts of the village and seemed to already know exactly where the dragon and fisherman were. Almost faster than a predetermined choice of action could be taken, James drop kicked Lachi Lipepi in the side of the neck at the base of his jaw, hard enough to throw the massive reptile. James himself laded on his feet like a trained fighter and suddenly his face looked mercilessly angry.
He was speaking in the island tongue now, perfectly with no trace of his original accent, in fact his words were of an older dialect, "You dare to leave this mortal be? You dare to allow this rag to drink with you and spit on your god?" his voice was a low growl, he was looking at the fisherman, but who was he talking about? The fisherman didn't drink with this dragon, the dragon didn't drink with the fisherman or spit on Cinchalla Macha, who was this foreigner talking about? How was he speaking so fluently?

Mentally, james was aware of what was going on to a degree, the words he let fly through his mouth made little sense to him other than the images that came with their noise. Specifically images of lava and fury but also gold and precious treasures... and soemthig\ng else, something he'd never seen before and couldn't comprehend, but it was powerful. He was a numb passenger in his own body, no connection, no control. He didn't even realize until an out of body image of him looking at those earrings he picked up from the offerings whizzed by his mind's eye that what ever was talking was talking about him.

Foot steps. She could hear the daily bustling around; villagers doing their normal routine, why had they not smacked her into gear to go and feed their water Deity? Why was she still unable to stand?
Why did they ignore her so well, with all the disgusting smells that were around her shouldn't they have kicked her away?

He had almost succeeded in killing the fisherman, but ultimately failed when feeling an unexpected jolt to his muscular scaled neck. Advancing backwards to collect his balance and return an attack to his attacker. He recoiled it looking into the eyes of;  Cinchalla Macha, the Volcano God. Only once before in his life had he come face to face with that bastard, and boy did he want to sink his teeth into him. Though he resisted; this gods wrath was too powerful for a single Water Deity to conquer. And wasn't he getting distracted now? wasn't he on a mission to find the girl? Low growls grew from his chest, almost as though to communicate with the god, or maybe just growling to indicate his lust for blood, the fisherman had now equally dark spotted pants and reeked like the possessed man.  Cinchalla Macha had started chanting the villagers old tongue to express his anger, but he didn't care, he didn't want to bother in this mess any more, he wanted the girl! But why? Rose the question. Had he succumb to her human touch and mindful eyes, her big heart which had only concern for him? Or was he just returning all the mysterious gifts she had given him through out her small frail life? Was this his Bond? he had no time for further thoughts, he had only stopped to smell the man before eating him due to her scent that lingered on his body. So where was she, ignoring Cinchalla Macha, he turned to face the main village and swung his tail to knock the fisherman down, to either kill him or severely injure with no concern if Cinchalla Macha had dodged his swing or allowed his poor vessel to get hit.

Jame's neck threw his head in the direction of Pachi Lipepi, naturally he dodged the crude creature's strong, swift bladed tail, but he wasn't about to let the idiot lizard Pachi Lipepi leave his presence so rudely.
"You do not leave your king in this way, servant." he spat as he ran ahead of Pachi Lipepi and straight for where little Taka was laying in a bloody heap, puddles of fluids were all around her in the center of the square. It was like watching a made-up story, James couldn't believe what he was seeing.

Though he was existing inside some sort of a cocoon of himself, now that he wasn't in pain and feeling so weak, he actually cared. It was when Cinchalla Macha did the unthinkable and mercilessly lifted her small, torn and beaten body by the hair with James' very own hands that James Leer could no longer play the observer in the shadows. How? How could anyone be so viscous. This sweet little girl was clearly already so near death if not dead already and these bastards were soulless bigots who rejected the very thing that made anyone worthy of being called a human being.

This devil playing god in his body was not welcome, he was the king of these monsters, all of which did not deserve the breath of life. Even this stupid dragon had more sense than these cretins. Trying to get control of his body was like purposely cutting off your own limbs, tapping into the pain his body was in was unbearable and this stupid volcano man wasn't having it. While James wasn't having much luck, his body was beginning to shake from being abusively used by Cinchalla Macha.

There it was, the feeling she was waiting for, it hurt somewhat more then it usually did. Probably the beating last night was far worse than her usual beatings. Tears formed, but she could only feel one side actually going down her cheek, there was no way for her to see what was going on, her right eye had been severely punched and forming big puff bags purple and bloody. Her face was clearly view able now that the man had grabbed her hair. A faint "Aye" came from her throat though it could have been perceived as a dying breath. Some of her ribs had been fractured and her arm was definitely broken.

Though she couldn't see what was around her or what was going on with her face, the villagers, Pepi and the man/Volcano god; could see a bloody mess the product of the villagers wrath; feces dumping off her, urine puddles from being peed on, and the clothes she had scavenged from the man who was now holding her up. Missing.. No.. Torn off and scattered on the ground. She was naked, though her body was still of small youth and had no development you could tell the abuse she took for being the village Taka. And if you thought that was all she had suffered from last night you are unfortunately wrong. A gooey white thing gooped down from her right eye socket, the side of her face that was clearly beaten more cruelly. After a few seconds of dangling from her hair she could no longer stay conscious and once again fell to a deep sleep, dreaming of riding on the back of Pepi away from this village.

He wanted to protect her that was his only instinct 'how' didn't apply to him. This fake god was dangerously close to being destroyed in all aspects if he tried anything. All ready he could see how the villagers had treated her, he hadn't thought how or why she always smelled of blood, assumed this was her sacrifice on getting the offerings she always bestowed upon him. They all needed to be wiped out. His growls were low rumbles quaking the villagers mud huts into rubble. He lunged to cut the mans arm clear off; one slice was all he needed, the girl would be set free and from there he could finish the arrogant volcano god without harming her and take the girl far away from this place.

(Okay edited; Replied fully now, lol )

The Volcano spirit did not seem to feel the damage in the limbs he was ruthlessly using. He had not been in a mortal body in longer than he could remember. It was more like a faint hunch that he ever even was in another body. No, he didn't know what it was to be human, to have limits, he only knew how to spit lava and shake the ocean to express anger and upset to sniveling humans; To be feared and celebrated by these tiny things. The night before, he witnessed this vessel's light leave as many before him have, but then he saw something he'd never seen before, the light returned. It made him curious, was this body now an open door? And sure enough, upon attempting to peer inside of this foreigner, he was accepted. It wasn't until James Leer's will had given up hold of his consciousness that Cinchalla Macha was able to shove his light to the side and take over.

But now he stood, detached from this vessel's pain sensors, unaware that he had torn every muscle, nearly every ligament, that at any moment he would no longer be able to use any part of this body. The ignoramus beast swung at him, in attempt to retrieve its precious servant girl. Chinchalla would simply have to teach the fool the hard way. With this body's last ounce of ability, the volcano god stepped back and pulled the girl before him like a shield, securing her with his other hand. James Leer's heel tendons tore with the force of Pachi Lipepi's attack which struck the girl, and his body fell limp, the spirit of Cinchalla Macha, in his hatred and frustration of failing to make the strike to the girl deep enough to be a death blow, flew from the useless body up to his volcano chambers and threw a great tantrum that erupted the volcano and began to even shake he island hard enough that soon he would break it into pieces. The Island was doomed and James Leer was once again comatose with a relentless grip on poor Taka's arm and hair.

His intent was to destroy the man's arm not to harm the girl. His energy, weight, and force was already in the attack there was nothing he could do to take it back. His claws sliced her flesh, like a knife to raw butter, in an instant blood streamed down her cheek his talon dip from her blood. Her cheek was thinly sliced in three parts her skin drooping down from the three perfect incisions. He was furious, his head went up and he howled with regret,  and anger.  His cry sent chills throughout the village, remaining animals and birds went crazy to escape, those villagers unbeknownst to what was taking place; They had taken their Water Deity's blood lust cries as a sure sign to escape the island before they too would perish.

He moaned with remorse cradling the bodies before him nudging at her frail form for any signs of life,  he went out of his way to find her, not to kill her... Now he was the true beast he grew to be... Wait her chest filled with air and then fell as she breathed out. She was still alive! There was still hope!  Upon further examination of the terrible marks he gave her, he had barely missed her eye and only the tips of his talons had marked her She would have scars, but if somehow he could get her somewhere else to get healed properly. She would recover!

Trying to move her seemed impossible the officially dead man kept a firm grasp on her, something Pepi would have to take care of later for now he would make due. Opening his large mouth (like an eel) around the bodies as to carry them he lifted his tongue to cushion the girl from his teeth,  and carried them out to the docks. There was only one boat he had his eyes on especially noted the rest of the boats that laid at this dock previously had all been taken by the villagers to escape with; the boat was small but easier to move and the one less likely to draw attention, he was glad the villagers had left this one. He laid the two on the deck of the boat and slithered into the water tugging the boat for a couple seconds until finally the rope that tied it to the docks came loose Pepi was glad to be rid of that island. He only wanted happy days and smiles from his companion. He was underneath the boat, or should I say the boat was riding him,  as the sails were not down and the water was calm, the only reason this small boat was sailing at top speed was due to the rather large water beast that laid below pushing it with all his might.

(All right I edited most of the mistakes :P My phone had so many typos lol)

(sorry if I'm taking from your spot light... though your character is in Comatose with mine currently  :sigh: But can we say a couple hours later of a fair pace un-altered, fog came around the small fishermen boat yadyad? That's when your other character comes in?)

James was dead. Again. There were no flashes or scenes this time, he would not begin to decompose, he would not dream, we would just be dead... for a while.
The human body is a peculiar thing, phantom twitching despite broken ligaments, the fact his arm was ripped out of his socket but didn't lose it entirely as he was being dragged with Taka by the dragon deity.

Were James conscious, he would have felt horrible for poor Taka and her open wounds that were being exposed to his rancid pants and the grey-black clots that were slowly oozing out from his sinuses. About an hour of traveling in the boat and James was faintly breathing again, his bowls pushed more fluid and feces out, far less than before as there was very little in them; he was going to want a new boat now.

It was a clear, bright day on the sea, the black sky of Hydrisland and the Nori Volcano of Cinchalla Macha was miles away, too far for the screams and chaos of the panicked islanders to be heard. The blue sky that stretched far ahead was vibrant and cloudless. the waves were muttled in grooves that slid into one another, the sea was calm. The most impossible things seem to happen plum-gun in the middle of a sunny day and today was certainly a sunny day.

From the line where sky blends to sea a magnificently crafted and decorated Schooner appeared, inexplicably close to their tiny boat. The sails were gold and red, its wood was a rich deep black, and a long equally lovely small boat was being lowered to them from it's great height. Suddenly so many sounds, voices, clattering, creaking, movement, busyness, the smell of spices and herbs, all were exploding from the open sea. The ropes gave great slack that fell into the water and four men rowed to the little sail boat, seemingly aware of its lurking dragon as a small ball of ink and smoke was thrown  down to him. It fizzed and released a drug that would enter through the beast's eyes. The drug would make him calm and drowsy. Heavy ropes were quickly and expertly lassoed around him to make him secured.
The two unconscious people were retrieved and James Leer's tiny white sailboat was left to wander alone.

As fast as the dragon and retrieval vessel could be hauled back on the ship, it was gone again; Some where between the fold of sky and sea.
"The Black Dawn,
what a ludicrous title."
"Have you ever seen a black sunrise,
Mr. Speaks?"
"Precisely my point Mr...
What was it again?"

"Tiberius"
"Ah yes, well,
how does one suppose the light-giving sun should rise black?"
"Why would one suppose it refers to the sun?
Does the dawn not refer to the moment a new day is revealed?

"Indeed it does! Imagine it! A dawn of darkness! Asinine!"

"You've never seen the sky after a pirate raid, mate."
