Kirakishou, "Kira", Sundancer/DesertRunner Lucain-----Cyril, Organic Battleheart

Ah, they were finally out here in Nori.  The two forms that emerged from over a rocky outcropping looked rather mismatched; one was a deep green Battleheart--an Organic one--and the other was a purple, gold, and blue female Lucain who surveyed the area carefully.  Her eyes were piercing, indeed--though they weren't as piercing as her father's, they were still piercing.

"Well, we're here, Cyril.  The entrance to the cavern has to be around here somewhere..." The female Lucain said to her Battleheart companion.  "I'm almost certain I remember Yeesha saying something about the entrance into the City being somewhere around here, in this desert..."

The Battleheart looked around, his eyes scanning the horizon.  "Indeed... Listen, Kira, I only agreed to this because your mother is genuinely worried about you.  About your safety.  Those that have dared to travel into D'ni before have never come out.  I don't want to be responsible for you disappearing into the City and never being seen again.  Please... at least let us wait and see if others do not appear." He pleaded.  The female Lucain sighed.  "Very well, Cyril.  We shall wait."

[Jazz]

Jazz padded along a rocky outcropping, his paws dancing to the beat of his music. A pair of large headphones was hung around his neck, the upbeat, throbbing pulse of techno music blaring fro the speakers. He closed his eyes, letting the music wash over him, and continued padding along gracefully, his body and paws swaying to the beat. "Man, this place is hot," he commented as the song ended and flipped to a more light-hearted, rap song.

He squinted his eyes, but all he could see were the squiggly lines on the horizon, and indication that the harsh rays of the sun was warming things up for the rest of the day. The tri-toned male continued on happily, a smile plastered on his face, before he paused and glanced over to his right. "Well, what do we have here?" he asked himself, grinning at the sight of a strange female Lucian he had never seen.

Beside her, stood a large, Organic Battleheart, quite a few heads taller than she. His music blaring, the male Lucain nearly danced on over, stopping short as he came closer. "Yo!"he called out. "What's crackin'?" He grinned roguishly, the music flipping to a faster, bass filled rap song as he stared at the two. "What ch'all lookin' at down there?"

Kira's ears perked as she heard a voice.  At first, she was a little concerned, for this person spoke like a gangster, but then she remembered back to seeing a certain movie--she could not precisely recall, but she was certain it was Transformers--and she recalled that some of the characters was a polite gangster.  Her head turned to see the Lucain male approaching them.

"We're looking for a cavern of sorts at the base of the volcano." She said, pointing to the specified landmark.  "I've heard stories from friends of mine that an advanced--and unique--civilization rests somewhere beneath the surface of our world.  My friend, Cyril, and I, are trying to find it."

"Whether or not some of us are going willingly is another matter..." The Battleheart commented quietly.  The Lucain rolled her eyes before she said, "My name is Kirakishou, but people call me Kira.  You would be...?"

Vavristay

Vris turned the volume of her music up louder, drowning out any other sound in the area, not that there was much. She sung along with the song, her voice wasn't terrible, and the sound was mildly pleasant. Huge blue and silver headphones covered her ears and the music could be heard through them. From far away it would look like she was dancing, but it really just how she walked, an odd looping, hopping gait.

She was immersed in her music, eyes closed, the classical tune blaring in her ears.
Thump! The palowockee landed face first on the ground, her headphones clattering onto the rocky surface. "Ow," she mumbled half-heartedly, picking herself up. She glared at the small stone that had tripped her, kicking it away indignantly.

Vris flipped her headphones back on, while muttering about "stupid stones" under her breath. She stopped mid-step, noticing for the first time two lucain and a battleheart standing seemingly in the middle of nowhere. Huh. She strolled over, trying to look casual.  "Hello there!"  Her voice was almost a shout, and she turned the volume down so she could hear her own voice. "What are you guys doing out here?"

Jazz grinned, reaching up a paw and flicking off his music, which had switched to a fast pace techno song. He was kind of getting tired of it anyways. "Wow,"he whistled. "When someone ask what ya're doin' I guess you tell 'em exactly what ya're doin'."He tilted his head back, looking quite at ease in the hot place, and glanced over her shoulder at the bottom of the hill. "Looks pretty dangerous to me,"he said, shrugging. "Oh, intro!"

He flicked his ears, and grinned cheekily. "The name's Jazz. The one and only. Nice ta meet ya, Kira." The sound of someone stumbling and muttering caught his attention, and he turned an amused eye upon a Palowockee as it clambered up from where it had fallen on the ground. "Smooth,"he breathed, chuckling. Then the sound of the classical music reached him, and he grimaced. "Agh, seriously! Who listens ta that?"he demanded, trying, unsuccessfully, to block out the noise. What were they doing here?

"Tryin' ta figure out why anyone would listen ta that God-awful music..." he grumbled under his breath. He straightened and looked cool and casual as she came nearer. "Yo," he said casually, as though he'd never uttered another word before. "Name's Jazz. You havin' fun with the rocks, 'lil lady? That was real smooth back there."He chuckled, his eyes glittering with mirth.

Kira chuckled as she said, "Jazz, hmm?  Interesting name.  And nice music you had going there." She said, offering a wink.  Her ears perked when she heard the stumble.  "Oh!  A new person...!" She commented slightly out of shock.

Cyril looked the two over.  "I doubt we'll get better company than this, Kira... a politish gangster and a Palowockee that trips over her own feet... Well, it shall have to do." The Ballteheart said; obviously less than pleased with the company.  Kira, however... she had no protests.  "So... what would ya say to joining us on our little exploration expedition?" She asked.

Vris decided to turn her music off, making it easier to hear what the others were saying. She blushed at Jazz's comment; she had hoped nobody had seen her little stunt with the rock. "Rocks? What rocks? I don't know what-" she spluttered. The palowockee shut up as she realized she was babbling. She tried ineffectively to think of a witty comeback, but none came. "Why, yes I was," she replied, trying to hide her emarrassment. "Don't you know how fun it is to hurl them at the heads of bothersome lucain?"Well, that retort hadn't been horrible, seeing as she usually couldn't think of anything.

Vris turned her attention to the other two, settling on ignoring the part where the battleheart mentioned she had tripped over her own feet. The embarrassment returned, along with a miffed look from Vris. "Expedition?"she asked curiously. "And I didn't catch you name,"added, her question mostly directed towards the battleheart, as she had heard the two lucain's names. "I'm Vavristay, or Vris."

"Yes, an expedition." Kira said, smiling.  "We're looking for an ancient city deep within the earth.  I at first thought that no persons could live that far beneath the earth, but... lately, we've had reason to believe it's true."

"More like a suspicion about a few of the pets we reside with than actual reasons." Cyril corrected.  "I am called Cyril, and my charge here is Kirakishou." The Battleheart said, meriting a growl from the Lucain female.

Jazz didn't know whether to be offended that he'd been called a 'politish gangster' or pleased. He shrugged, his headphones falling lower to hang around the bottom of his neck. He looked a little taken aback at being invited to join the expedition. After all, he'd barely met them a few minutes ago. But not one to pass up an adventure, the 'politish gangster' nodded slowly.

"Sure, sounds like fun,"he said, grinning. He sighed and glanced at the Palowockee, clearly not as pleased at her accompanying them. "Ya sure ya want a clumsy Palo comin' with us?"he asked, flicking his ears. Then, as though forgetting all about Vris, he turned towards the place they were about to head into. "Well, shall we get goin'?"

Kira chuckled as she said, "I doubt there will be many things for her to trip over... but I've heard that there are bottomless pits down there--literally." She said.  "But enough talk about what lies beneath the earth when we cannot get down under the earth!  We must first find the entrance to the tunnels." She said, dashing off to the base of the volcano.

Cyril sighed.  "She never learns..." He said, shaking his great head.

"That sure sounds interesting," Vris commented, "I'd love to come." She was a bit surprised at being asked to join, but there was no way she could resist an expedition involving an ancient city. Her eyes took on an excited look as she thought of the possibilities.

The palowockee let out an annoyed snort when Jazz referred to her as 'a clumsy palo.' One little stumble and she was branded as clumsy. Her attempt at appearing 'cool' and laid-back when she had first approached them had been foiled by a rock.

Vris followed Kira to the base of the volcano, jogging leisurely behind the lucain.

"Bottomless pits?"Jazz repeated, looking bewildered. "If there's bottomless pits, why's she runnin' off like that? Won't she just fall in one?"he asked himself, following after her at a more sedate pace. He glanced at the giant Battleheart, before shrugging, and turning back to face the base of the Volcano. "Sure is hot,"he muttered, shaking his fur as though to cool himself off. "How long we gonna be down there, 'lil lady?"he asked, looking amused at her antics. As they reached the bottom of the volcano, he glanced back and forth. "So...Where now?"

((Sorry for not posting. I have a exit program for HS coming up, and I just got really sick a few days ago.))

"Hopefully not." Kira called out over her shoulder.  "I've heard about people falling into those pits.  One of them was one of the people we were supposed to find, known only as the Builder." She said.  Cyril nodded as he said, "Just hurry, Kira... I might be the rock of you four, but I am sweltering hot here." He said.

"Aha!" Kira said, smiling as she reached a little area where the rock in the volcano was fractured.  Well, from a distance, it looked little.  it was far from little when you approached it.  "I think this is it... yes... I'm certain this is it." She said.

Vris's ear twitched uncomfortably at all the talk of being hot. Just talking about it made her feel warmer, and her dark fur certainly didn't help. She didn't think she's ever agree to go on vacation to Nori Volcano again.

"Woah..." she said in wonder as the small crack at the base of the volcano grew to a much larger size as she approached it. "I hope it's cooler in there," she muttered. Anything in there had to be better than where they were now... right? Well, except for the bottemless pits of course. Then again, for all Vris knew the volcano could be filled with other dangers.

"It should be cooler in there... I mean, come on; it's a cavern... if I remember..." Kira said, getting ready to set foot into the cavern when Cyril leapt in front of her, a snarl on his fierce maw.  "Kira..." He growled warningly.  The femme Lucain eyed him before he stood upright, conveniently blocking the way into the cavern.

"Call me superstitious," Cyril said.  "But we should at least ask the Gods for their blessing before we venture into the unknown.  Kira... have you ever considered that's why Yeesha, Aitrus, and Ti'ana all went missing?  They did not have the blessing they needed?"

Kira sighed.  "It occurred to me... we should go.  I'm certain that our trainers and families don't need us... you know.  Dying." She said at last.
