As an active volcano, few creatures venture near Nori for fear of being too close during an eruption. On most days there is a continuous slow flow of molten rock seeping through the mouth of the volcano, so travelers are advised to dress appropriately. (+2 to Endurance)

Return to Nori Volcano

Jazz looked up curiously at Cyril. "The blessin's of the Gods?"he said, blinking slightly. "Whatcha talkin' 'bout there, big guy?"He turned to Kira, a look of confusion on his face. Call him stupid, but he never heard of any Gods. And he certainly didn't pray to 'em, either. He wasn't very superstitious (But he loved that song!) nor did he really believe in anything. And there was a reason for that, but that is a story for another time.

"Well, we gonna ask for their blessin' o' we just gonna stand here and chill? I got no problem with the 'chill' part. That blessin' thang ain't my bag, tho.' Call me crazy o' stupid, but I ain't never belived in no 'Gods,' "he asked and stated rather bluntly, looking at each of his traveling companions.

I love adventurous tales like that. That uplifting feeling that comes from seeing unknown lands and the knowledge that you came across—nothing can replace it! It opens a path from which self-confidence, experience, and important friendships—from the sharing of life or death situations—are born! But hearing it just isn’t the same. I want to create my own magnificent story!

A great adventure!

"Believe what you will," Cyril stated.  "Kira's never cared for them either.  She says that to trust something to supernatural beings is to give up one's freedom to control their own fate.  I, however... have some senses to know that one's fate is left to the deities.  Yepha, Zu'hai, Sa'ouna, Ithina, those people." He said.

Kira rolled her eyes.  "Like I said, I'd rather not.  I'd rather just go.  But... seeing as you're so adamant about this," she snarled the word "adamant" like it was a curse, "I guess we can go... but know that I am most unwilling!" She finished.

Maybe I'm foolish, maybe I'm blind
Thinking I can see through this to see what's behind
Got no way to prove it, so maybe I'm lying
Take a look in the mirror, what do you see
Can you see it clearer, or are you deceived in what you believe?
Don't ask my opinion, don't ask me to lie
Then beg for forgiveness for making you cry
'cause I'm no prophet or Messiah
You should go looking somewhere higher

I'm only human, I make mistakes
I'm only human, I do what I can
I'm only human, that's all it takes to put the blame on me

Don't put the blame on me

"Uh...Gods?" Vris echoed. "So those are like the deities or something?" The Palowockee had never glimpsed a God before, and thus didn't believe much in them. She was more of an 'I'll believe it when I see it' kind of pet. "How do you get their blessing? Just...ask? 'Cause how would they hear us all the way over here?" she continued, on a roll now. "And if they did happen to hear us, how would they find us? And if they happened to find us, how would they decide if they're going to give the actual blessing or not?"

She hoped they could get inside soon; she was roasting in the hot temperature. Although she was strangely reluctant now, probably from Cyril's talk of 'Yeesha, Aitrus, and Ti'ana' gone missing. Which meant they were most likely dead.

"I find it crucial that we travel to the Shrine in Basantha." Cyril said.  "There, we can properly receive the blessings the Deities might be able to give us and... avoid any unpleasant occurrances.  But, if you'd rather be stolen up by the merciless D'ni god, Yavo, be my guest." He said.  It was here Kira's eyes widened.

"Yavo... I remember reading of him.  He can be merciless, yes.  But I doubt he wouldn't let us through because of not having the blessings of Evelon's deities.  Why would he care about them?" She challenged.

Jazz listened to the banter back and forth. Vris seemed to not know exactly what they were talking about. while Cyril and Kira argued back and forth about what to do. He tilted his head, giving his fur a good shake. Shoot, it was hot out here. His blue eyes darted between the two arguers, as they debated on what to do next. Go to a Shrine in Basantha?

Heck, he was all for it, if it meant they could get outta this heat. Stepping forward, and between the Battleheart and female Lucian, he glanced at both of them. "Just throwin' in my own opinion. Why don't we go to thuh Shrine? Sounds like that place would be a good choice ta kick back a bit. An' it's too hot here. Muh fur's gettin' all fluffy."

He shook his head, as if to emphasize his point, and his fur 'poofed.' He gave them a sour look. "And what could it hurt ta ask them 'Gods' or some such for a bit o' help? At this rate, we may need it."He grinned jokingly, and winked at Kira, smiling his charming smile. "What do ya say, Kira-girl?"

"I say," Kira said, smiling at Jazz's nickname for her, "that we leave now so that we can get this bot of help while the day's still moderately young.  And I have to agree; desert-dweller or not, I hate this weather." She finished.  She couldn't help but giggle as jazz 'poofed' his fur out.

Cyril looked at the two with a raised eyebrow, and then said, "All right, then.  We should start heading for Basantha now, before it gets much hotter and we start keeling over from heatstroke." He began to trod off, his big claws scraping at the rocks underfoot and churning up sand.

Correct to Jazz's assumption, Vris didn't know what exactly was going on. Part of it might be that Virs' hearing wasn't the best, considering she usually turned her music up so loud she could hardly hear herself think. She did know enough though; to figure out they were heading to Basantha. "Sounds interesting," she commented, ears pricking up. "Since it's located in the Fe'gan Mountains, with all that ice and snow at the top, it'll definitely be cooler." Maybe too cold, in fact, but anything was better than this heat at the moment.

The palowockee turned her music back on, keeping the volume down to a barely hearable level, -she still wanted to hear the others if they happened to say something important- and with a shrug started to pad after Cyril.
