Flame

Blaze

A female candle shinzo flew through through the warm air, heated by the volcano. She had just come from a...meeting...with other Shinzos like her. One of her friends suffered anemisea and could not remember anyone. Soon she remembered two of the others, but...
She shook her head and looked at the horizon. Then she blinked. She did not notice that the sun had risen. Jaden's not gonna be happy. She sighed and realized how heavy her wings felt. She had been flying for quite a while. Scanning the volcano side, she saw no ridges big enough for her. She flew upwards and found a ledge just as her wings began to give way. Collapsing, she closed her eyes as her energy started to rebuild.

Farther up, and around the other side of the volcano, a male candle shinzo was catching flying rocks. "Man am I hungry!" he said as he landed next to his pile of rocks. Taking one, he bit into it, slowly letting the warm, sweet taste melt into his mouth. He closed his eyes and sighed. Then he put down the rock, looking sad. "It reminds me of home..." he looked at the sky, starting to become a pale blue as the sun rose. His mind flashed back to that horrible day...the day his parents died. And his sister...what happened to her? She was so young...too young to remember that day clearly. He hoped that whatever happened to her, she was alright.

FireSun circled around in the sky, chomping on passing lava rocks. Oh, how she loved Nori Volcano. The sweet, tasty snacks; the wonderful, scenic view; and of course the celebrations that they threw! Sniffing, she realized a familiar scent lingering in the humid air. Scanning the ground, she noticed Flame! "Flame!" She yelled, grabbing the Shizno in for a hug.

Flame looked up in surprise as she heard a familiar voice. Before she could get up, another Shinzo grabbed her and gave her a hug. She recognized the scent intantly. "FireSun!" she said, startled. Then she smiled, and hugged her friend. "Are you okay? I was so worried about you last time!" she asked SireFun.

Blaze sighed as he ate the last rock. "Now I guess I have to get more." he said, and took off. He flew to a small stream of rocks flying through the air. Twisting through them expertly, he knocked them down, one by one, to the ledge.

FireSun smiled back. "I was taken to the emergency room, and they were able to give me some medication!" Squeezing her old friend, she tilted her head. "I didn't expect to see ya here, what are you up to?" She asked in a mishevious manner.

Flame smiled. "I was just flying around and got tired, so I went to sleep. I woke up just as you came." she giggled then and cocked her head slighly to match FireSun's. "I'm glad you're alright!" she said.

Blaze grabbed a a small rock and pushed it in his mouth. Swallowing, he licked his lips and sighed happily. "It's a good day today." he said, then swooped down and landed next to his pile. He looked around, then reached for a heavy stone nearby. "There it is." he said, and picked it up, revealing a large bag with an emblem on it that shown it was fireproof. Picking it up, he returned the rock and started to scoop up the stones in his pile, putting them in by the pawful. When done, he slung the bag over his head onto his shoulder. Then he took flight, starting to fly around the mountain.

Blaze was circling the volcano, heading for his home when he spotted two other candle shinzos. They seemed happy to see each other, he figured, perhaps they had just reunited. He shrugged and was going to keep flying, but then he saw the second shinzo. She looked familiar, but he couldn't quite place it. Curious, he banked and headed towards the two. "Hello!" he called, lighting on a ledge just big enough for him that was level with the others. "I saw you as I was heading home, and I thought I should say hi." he said, with a smile. Instinctively, his head cocked sideways as he smiled at them.

Flame looked up as she heard another voice. She did not recognize the voice nor the shinzo that it belonged to, but both tugged at her memory. She knew him. But who was he? When did she know him? How did they know each other? Did he recognize her? Her mind reeled with questions, but as the shinzo landed and greeted himself, she was able to come up to one conclusion. He didn't recognize her. So perhaps it was a long time ago. When he cocked his head, she jumped slightly, as it was the same as hers. She never knew why she cocked her head like that, so it felt odd to see another shinzo doing it the same way.
