As Zizi came running back, Vera took out another treat. The Kirund dropped the ball at her feet and Vera threw the treat into the air and watched Zizi leap after it, catching it in her mouth. "Good girl, Zee." Vera praised the puppy while she munched on the treat.

"Now. Go get it!" Vera threw the tennis ball up high and past the tree line. The Kirund followed it with her eyes and, as the ball fell back to the ground, leaped up high and caught it in her mouth. Zizi landed on her front paws with her back paws close behind. It was a great show of strength and grace.

"Good girl, Zee." Vera threw a treat and Zizi had to drop the ball to catch it. The Kirund quickly brought the tennis ball back to her master, dropping it at Vera's feet. Vera took out another treat. "Zee, beg." she gave the command and Zizi responded, sitting up on her hind legs and holding her paws close to her chest. "Good girl." Vera cooed. "Now hold." she placed the treat on Zizi's nose and waited.

Zizi waited and watched Vera as she waited for the signal. Her tail wagged excitedly behind her, brushing against the grass. Vera smiled and kept her hand out, telling Zizi to hold still. When she was ready she put her hand down, giving Zizi the signal that let her go. Zizi got the treat from her nose and munched on it happily.

A gentle breeze in the trees and the warmth of a summer day made the forest peaceful. Vera finished the orange, putting the peel back in the bag. Vera liked the cold, but sometimes a little warmth wasn't so bad. Zizi didn't seem to mind any difference in temperatures.

Vera sat down on the soft grass and Zizi went to lay in her lap. "Zee, you're too big for that." Vera complained, but scratched the Kirund anyways. Tongue lolly and tail wagging, Zizi was the picture of bliss. She couldn't have been happier. Well, maybe if she had her cuniflare plush she could have been.

"Maybe it's time you had a bath, Zee." Vera said as she played with the Kirund's mane. Her words issued an immediate whine from Zizi. Baths were not something she enjoyed. Her tongue shot out and she actually had to arch her back a little to reach Vera's face, but succeeded in planting a sloppy kiss there.

Vera giggled and wiped slobber from her face. The huge, grinning Kirund in her lap was just too comical not to laugh at. "Okay, no bath then." Vera giggled again. Zizi reached up for another slobbery kiss to show her appreciation, but Vera moved out of reach.

"I don't need a bath either, Zee." Vera laughed. She pushed Zizi off her lap and the Kirund rolled away, ending up in a playful crouch. Vera knew what she wanted. Picking up the tennis ball again, she through it into the forest. Zizi went right after it.

The tennis ball came back to Vera shredded and covered in slobber. Although it wasn't a joy to throw, Vera threw it anyway to give Zizi her entertainment. If Zizi got bored Vera would never hear the end of it. When Zizi wanted something she usually got it.

Although Zizi wasn't the prettiest dog out there she had certainly won Vera's heart. Beauty in the eyes of the beholder. Zizi was the cutest thing out there to her master, if not to anyone else.

Vera gave her dog a good rub down when she returned the ball. Zizi was always a good dog, whether she was acting has Vera's personal body guard or just a lovable puppy. The Kirund rarely did a bad thing. She could be a little scary sometimes and didn't like strangers, but she wouldn't hurt a fly if Vera didn't want her to.
