The plot thickens. Shaetani had been sorting the mail when she noticed a piece that had come to her instead of her cousin. She hadn't intended on opening his mail but when some liquid was spilled on the counter she'd opened it to make sure it was okay and to try and dry it. What she found only confirmed some of her worst fears, and with a care package all made up she sent out two of her stronger pets to go investigate. Alterac and Briar Rose had been traveling for a few days now, and finally they arrived at the edge of the whisper forest. Staring into the mists, Aterac sighed. "Its like looking at the sea after a storm all over again... I've never seen mists this thick on land before." Briar Rose looked at Alterac for a moment before sighing. "The torches should last a while, and once they die there should be enough deadwood around for me to start another one... Lets get on with this." Turning to the mist with a sigh, the two started to travel into the forest.

Meanwhile, not too far off, Amety was both bored and irritated. No one wanted to listen to his psychotic ramblings, and he had already told several of them 'I told you so's' when they went and fell into the traps. His contact was late, and he had decided if he had to waste away in these miserable woods he might as well at least try to enjoy himself. He had just made himself a lovely meal and was sitting on a low tree branch when he thought he saw some movement off in the distance.

Atalanta; Custom Lucain

It was really misty. Atalanta squinted her golden eyes, trying to make out where she was. She had been traveling for a few days now, she didn't know where she was going, only that she had had to get out of the house. There were too many kuhnas running around for her liking. She had never liked the little runts. They smelled, like, well, she couldn't really compare the scent to anything she knew.
Speaking of scents, what was that smell? She paused mid-step and sniffed the air. Her delicate nose picked up the scent of a fire. Had this place caught on fire? Atalanta certainly hoped not. She followed the scent a bit. When she was close to the scent, she saw two torches, or what looked like torches. She squinted even further. The lucain wished she had better sight. Sure, she had incredible scent, but not sight. She soon caught the scent of a male lucain and a female kuhna. She crinkled her nose at the last scent. How strange for the two to be traveling together.
Atalanta hid behind a tree when they got closer. She peaked around the tree to see the lucain and kuhna still walking together. She didn't want to show herself, just in case they were violent. She hoped they weren't violent and that they didn't notice her before she decided to show herself.

No matter how much he might want to, Amety couldn't completely ignore his reason for being here so after quickly eating up his dinner he silently flew closer to the distant shapes. Finally he was close enough to make out their forms, as well as the figure of someone lurking behind a tree nearby. Landing on a low branch, he let out a loud shriek of a call. "Nevermore, Nevermore shall you go knocking, pecking at his door! Wild Wild quite willful and strong, You've turned the way wrong!" Of there was more. Amety could go on and on once he thought had a good poem going, but it was also his code, the code for his contacts to reply to, and he wondered if any of the three were actually who he was supposed to meet.

Alterac had keen hearing as well, and there was the faint sound of movement sort of behind them and to the right. His steps slowed and he glanced at his companions, his gaze thoughtful. Reaching out a paw to tap Briars shoulder, his voice was hushed. "I think we were supposed to turn right back there by that one tree." The tap to the should was to let her know he thought they were being watched, and that his words would be in code. Briar came to a stop as he tapped her, yet before she could respond Amety arrived spouting his drival. Glaring up at the bird, her voice was firm. "Will Will the right way be shown? Nest, Nests for within my home." Carefully, she stalked over towards the tree that the bird was sitting in, and as she did so Alterac faded into the mists and started moving back and around, his steps as silent as he could make them as he moved to sneak up on the tree where he had thought he'd heard the follower.

(Note to self: Nevermore Will Wilds Nest)

Atalanta; Custom Lucain

Atalanta noticed that the other lucain and kuhna started acting a little strange. Perhaps it was her vision, causing the shapes and voices to look and sound different once they reached her mind, or maybe they had heard her. Well, that wouldn't be good, or she thought that wouldn't be good, being caught sneaking up on someone.
She was really surprised when that voice rang out. She didn't understand anything it said, well, she caught the words, just not the meaning. As she watched the kuhna, she noticed that someone was missing. The lucain! Where was he?
Atalanta took a step back, still watching the scene. She went to turn around and find a place further away to hide, but she collided with the male. She was startled and lost her balance, causing her to fall backwards onto her bottom. She cried out when she hit the hard ground. She sat there, looking quite pitiful, completely embarrassed and lost for words. Her eyes watched the others feet, waiting for them to walk away. She was usually a very graceful, not clumsy person. She wasn't use to this situation. Stupid mist, she thought.

(Sorry for the wait)

Alterac startled the female, but he hadn't meant to knock her down. As she fell he shifted into his human form and smiled, his voice calm. "I hope you're just lost and not spying on us. Would you like some help getting up?" He didn't think she was a spy, but it was so hard to tell when even those who looked innocent were pressed into service, when he knew Taridan would use any creature at his disposal.

The feline responded in Code, but something seemed off. Amety stared hard at her, thinking, obviously trying to decide if he should trust her or not. Briar Rose just stared back, unflinching, as the vile creature started to speak again. His poem wasn't nearly as good this time, but it got the message across. "Lies lies deep in the woods beyond, Traitors Traitors hang from rope so strong, while within within their guts the maggots squirm, trust trust can never be too firm." Briar rose knew some of the code, knew what words she needed to respond to but the obvious mistrust of this damned bird was quite irritating and her tails flared up into even brighter balls of red-hot fire.

((It's alright :)))

Atalanta sighed. She really wished he had just walked away. She shook her head, picking herself up off the ground. The lucain had just royally embarrassed herself, she didn't need help getting up. "I'm fine, thanks," she said a little snottily. She felt like such an idiot, falling like that.

"And, no, I'm not a spy," she said, looking at her feet. "I'm lost," she added, defeated. She hadn't wanted to admit it, especially to this kuhna loving individual, but she was hopelessly lost. She looked up at him pitifully. Her golden eyes secretly pleaded for help, though her words did not, she didn't want to ask for his help. She didn't like to be helped, it made her feel childish.

Well, thank goodness she wasn't a spy. He didn't really fancy a fight with her, and after she stood up he offered her a smile. Keeping his voice soft and low, he glanced over his shoulder at the bird and kuhna. "If you'll wait here, we can show you the way out once our business with that damned creature is done." He had noticed Briar Rose seemed to be getting even more pissed off and with a sigh and a nod of his head, he shifted back to stand next to her and glare at the bird.

Traitors trust lies within. Lashing her tails, Briar Rose sneered up at the bird. "Time time it waits for no one, Hasten hasten while racing against the clock, waiting spies spies must not be missed, or failure failure shall give you deaths kiss." Their mission was of the essence, time a factor in their return, failure not an option. Briar Rose did not break eye contact as she waited, despite Alterac's return to her side.

Amety stared hard at his and his glowing white eyes suddenly darkened and went black. The next words that he spoke were not in riddle form, his voice hollow sounding. "Two weeks from today, before the dawn wakes the farm, A slow acting poison within the well, causing fevers and cells to swell. While they're weak we shall strike, the dark forces forever extinguishing the light." After speaking he rose and flew off into the mists, though he paused at a nearby tree to land and listen.

"He said that a group would be around here somewhere.  But with this god forsaken mist, I can't see a thing!" Silver muttered.  His brother Veikko was following close behind, and acting as a rear defense.  Silver's own sense of smell was rather useless here, as was his sight, but Veikko, being blind, has extraordinary hearing, as well as a keen sense of smell.  Months back, they had gotten a letter addressed to both of them.  It was from someone named Taridan.  It had gone on about how he had a goal of some sort, and that in return for lending their powers to help with his plan, he would teach and train them.  Long ago they had found out about a prophecy from some of the old monks in Nusan.  Three would come together, and settle a long awaited dispute.  Of course it was Silver and Veikko, but what they didn't was who the third was, or what their powers were.  Or, well, not until recently.  Silver couldn't be touched in battle, no matter who the fighter was.  And Despite being blind, Veikko could walk in others dreams, and sense things miles away.  No one had ever told them about the prophecy, and they had never shared it with anyone, so this Taridan must really know something.  Agreeing that they had to find out, the two brothers headed out to Whisper Forest, one of the newly found regions of Evelon.

The only problem was that they couldn't seem to find who or whatever they were looking for....

"Um, okay," she said, not sure what else to say. Atalanta didn't know what to do either. The stranger seemed a little hostile, or maybe just in a hurry, but wanted to help her get out of this place? She shook her head. Guys were so confusing. Nevertheless, she would wait and get directions out of the forest. She would rather get help than get lost some more.

After looking around at her surroundings a bit more she followed the other to where the kuhna was. She wrinkled her nose at the scent. She hated the smell of feline. Well, if this was the lucain's partner, then she supposed she would have to deal with it. As she waited for the kuhna to finish up, she smelled another scent. Was that another lucain? Or two? She shivered, hoping they weren't here to beat them up or something.

Once the bird was done with Briar he turned to lead the Kuhna over to the female Lucain who was meeting them. Alterac looked worried by what he had heard, but with a sigh he decided Tani would know what to do about it.

Seeing the other Lucain, Briar came to a halt, her back arching and a faint hiss escaping. <b>"Whats going on?"</b> Alterac quickly explained to her that they were going to help her out of the forest, then smiled at the girl. <b>"I'm Alterac, and this is my war partner Briar Rose. Light the way, Briar."</b> Still giving Atalanta a suspicious look, the Kuhna stalked several steps in front of them, the flames on her tail flaring to life once more as she started to lead the way out.

Meanwhile, Amety heard the voices of the two male lucain with a fluff of his feathers he swooshed down and landed on a fallen log right next to them. <b>"He who? Groups for you? Speak Speak, tell Ametyvil all, and perhaps all shall be answered to you in return."</b> These parts of the woods were his, and all of these strangers taking a walk about them simply wouldn't do.

This was it.  Only a few feet away, Silver heard one of the calls Taridan had told them about.  What pet was it....  A Malpha!  Yes, a Malpha would call out different riddles, and they were to answer them.  That would be how he could identify the two newcomers.  Getting a nod, Veikko began. "To you, to you we answer a call.  The powerful master, Taridan, won't fall.  Our powers are great, but shrouded in mist.  The answers we seek, we seek with you."  Eying the lizard, Silver admired how powerful he looked.  Transferring the image into Veikko's mind, he nodded.  This was certainly the one they were to meet.  Now, Silver spoke, knowing that they both had to convince it that they were who he sought."So you, so you, tell us what to do, and together, forever, the light will disappear."

Atalanta smiled at the kuhna, at least trying to look friendly, though the action killed her inside. She followed after the kuhna and lucain, following just behind them both. She smiled, trying to look happy despite the dismal place. Her golden eyes betrayed her discomfort and fear of the forest, but she tried her best to hide that by looking at the creepy trees that were crowded by fog. She stepped carefully, not wanted to trip again and not make a fool of herself... again. The fog was leaving residue on her fur, so she shook some of it off. It was such a pain to have the droplets of dew pull her down like they were doing. She hated being wet...
