Taking a moment to check on them all Ryka caught her breath, keeping Ling snuggled close to her as she felt the dizziness recede. "Good, then we'll follow you and hope there is a light switch somewhere." She was half joking with her words to Silas. There was likely no such switch, or if there was then no power. When someone's hand took hold of her free hand, Ryka nearly jumped. Glancing back at Freylan, she settled Ling up on her shoulder in order to free up her hand. The little Larvie squeaked in protest, but stayed.  At the same time she took hold of Freylan's hand, careful not to startle her too much as she did so. "I really hope he knows where he's going." Her eyes then found the outline of the kuhna ('42-A), "Even a less dark hallway would do for me." She chuckled softly about it, any light would make her feel better right now. "Yeah, but I guess a lot of the rooms he found were locked. Why would someone lock a bunch of doors in a place like this?" That was one of the more puzzling things Ryka had heard so far, and it worried her enough. "Your right, we need to get out of this place." 'If we can.' Once more that was the fear.

"If you want to you can take hold of Sig's collar, he'll follow me anywhere." She hoped the woman (Rune) wasn't frightened of him, as many often were. Sig stayed close to Rune as his master spoke, taking it as an order. The old Baskerville only glancing up at her with determined eyes but warm eyes, before moving a little ahead of her to allow her to take hold of his collar. "Don't get anybody lost, Sig." His master's concern wasn't truely about getting the others lost, as it was about him not being with her. He only snorted in reply, starting to follow after Ryka as they headed for the door and beyond it.

Bottles smashed, I raised my hand
How can you all even stand?
And why is there joy in this poison? Oh
Faking smiles and confidence
Driving miles to capture this excitement
I can't take anymore

You're never gonna get it
I'm a hazard to myself
I'll break it to you easy
This is hell, this is hell
You're looking and whispering
You think I'm someone else
This is hell, yes
I am in hell

Freylan listened to Ryka's words carefully, not quite understanding them. She was more caught up in the fact that they were all trapped in a dark manor with a bunch of complete strangers. Fear and confusion building up in her chest, Freylan swallowed, her throat feeling dry. Right... they were supposed to hold hands. Freylan squinted about in the dim light, a little wary of the strange people and creatures in the room. Tentatively, she reached out a hand for someone else to hold.

He felt that, if the room wasn't quite as dark as it was, he'd have a hard time not exploring. But it was indeed dark, way too dark. The short man was keen on reaching a better lit room. Just being able to make out objects' outlines would be a massive improvement. It was starting to feel like they were all being swallowed up. He shook his head and adjusted his glasses. No, working himself into a panic would not do, especially not right now. "I'm just hoping for a brighter room," he admitted to Ryka. "At least, for now that's all I'll hope for." Being in a brighter room meant being able to (at least vaguely) tell who one's company is, possibly what kind of building they were in, and if one could judge by the interior and décor, how large it was overall.

His witchlight bobbled lazily, overlooking the top of his head, as he reached out in search of someone's hand to hold. He kept his fingers curled so he wouldn't accidentally jab anyone. Not exactly the nicest thing to do even if by mistake. His knuckles brushed against Freylan's free hand, and carefully he grasped it. He immediately decided he was not overly fond of touching people. He shook the nitpicky thoughts aside as they moved onward through the doorway.
when that light goes out this eve,
some will run, and some will grieve.

Arthur was a bit hesitant to hold anyone's hand. Partly because it would mean letting go of Luckfoot, but, as well, his gloves were something of an imperfect disguise. They hid his claws reasonably well, but the claws could certainly be felt through them; it wasn't normally a problem, since he wasn't terribly inclined to touch people to begin with, but now...

Of course, if he didn't take someone's hand, he would be hopelessly lost in the dark. He slipped the Stargoyle back into his pocket, retracted the claws as best he could--not very well, but at least there was a chance no one would notice--and reached out.

What are you looking at?

Rune gave a nod of understanding, which was only vaguely visible in the dark, before she moved to follow their directions. For a spirit, something meant to be wholly carefree, she was oddly good and following orders, though she might attribute half of that to fear and the other half to curiosity. The elder was always giving orders, and never once had she failed to second-guess them.

Seeing as how she was the only one close enough Ryka for her words to apply, Rune assumed she was the one intended to hold the dog's collar. Fine by her; animals made more ready companions for her than humans did on average. The sprite woman took hold of the Baskerville's collar with one hand and flailed behind herself with the other until she caught hold of someone else. She was pretty sure it was the man who had the little dragon creature before, and, though he seemed a little apprehensive about the whole "hand holding" thing, she tightened her grip around his hand, ignoring the claws for the most part. That wasn't too weird. Humans could have claws, right.

"Good dog," she whispered before glancing around to the rest of the group. "I think we're all good now. As long as everyone has a hold of someone, right?"

Silas led the group with some halting pauses when he felt tugs on his hand through the door and into a hallway that felt unnaturally cold. His eyes flicked back and forth in the darkness, barely illuminated by the light of those behind him who were able to keep theirs up. "Okay... I came out of that room in there. The door at the end of the hallway..." he murmured, tugging the group along.

Suddenly there was a flicker of light in the hallway, though it wasn't exactly light so much as not dark. It held a sickly glow to it that grew, and as it took better form, it could be seen that it was a small flame inside of a dirty, dusty lantern, held by a startlingly familiar pale man who greeted the group with a fixed, thin smile. "I see you're all awake," he said, voice thin and frail, despite his rather looming presence, blocking the group from the door. "That's good. That's very good... I'm glad the goods weren't damaged in, ah, transport..."

But there will come a time
You'll see, with no more tears
And love will not break your heart
But dismiss your fears
Get over your hill and see
What you find there
With grace in your heart
And flowers in your hair

"Tomorrow will be a good day."
