It had been a long time since Charis had ventured forth into Whisper Forest. The last time she had come there, she had encountered a dragon--another one that spoke the old language that flowed so freely from her tongue--but before their conversation could get much further than discussing her gemstone and why it was glowing, a strange hound had appeared and chased her off.

Now, Charis was finding her way back, tracing lines that she only remembered from a faint, distant memory, hoping that the hound and Phrixus hadn't moved since she'd been there. She'd waited a long time to try to come back; with the ferocity in which the hound had chased her off, that seemed to be the best thing to do. It had been about two months before Charis even dared set foot in Whisper again.
Soon, she had arrived at the mouth of a cave. She remained just out of sight for a moment before she craned her head around, peering in ever so slightly.
