FOG no densetsu [Hunt]

It was that time again. It was time for the one and only; the most revered persona of the Lands of Evelon; the most beloved example of a strong, masculine icon; for Johnson Smith to rise again, and to come to everyone's rescue.

What was he protecting them from this time? What could possibly be standing in the way of Johnson Smith? What could be so dangerous that the poor civilians had no one to turn to, but the most legendary hero of all times?

Some fog apparently.

Frankly, well, Johnson Smith was a little insulted. Yes, yes, of course, he understood that fame and perfection came with consequences. People didn't think so! They thought he lived his life in ease, and in peace, where no one bothered him, and where everyone did everything for him.

But that just wasn't true! He still had to do hard tasks every day. He had to get dressed, he had to eat: sometimes, he even had to cook! Sometimes he even had to clean up after himself!

No respect!

Well, despite his busy schedule of living like a normal Kuhna, Johnson Smith always made an effort to come and save his people. Because otherwise, who would? Who would defend people from the challenges and dangers of life? Of course, even Johnson Smith couldn't save them from everything... like taxes. Even his magnificence couldn't save people from that.

Anyway: all that narration aside, Johnson Smith was riding on Betty, on his way towards the forest causing trouble. With an exaggerated sigh, he asked, "Nani?" but not while allowing the audience to see the extent of the forest. Not yet.

Dramatically, the horizon revealed the forest Johnson Smith was driving towards. It looked like a regular forest, but it was shrouded in a thick fog. It felt absolutely magical! It felt threatening, like a bloodthirsty animal waiting to pounce. It felt like the biggest threat Johnson Smith had ever had to face in his entire Kuhna life! Even Betty seemed to rumble in fear at the sight of the forest!

... But no, not really, honestly. It looked pretty dumb.

As for Betty, ah, it sounded more like an engine issue. An easy mistake.

Johnson Smith had no choice but to stop by the edge of the forest. Right now, well, it was the least of his problems! Betty needed his attention!

"Betty-chan!" he cried out as he dropped down from her back, and as he looked her over. "What is wrong, Betty-chan?" he asked, going to the front of the motorcycle, as a friend would do to stare into the wondrous eyes of another person or Kuhna - except, well, right now it was to stare back into her headlights.

But Betty didn't really give him an answer. More like more engine noises: but to someone like Johnson Smith, who was masterfully and professionally versed in hundreds of thousands of languages - even languages that didn't exist! - he could understand those mechanical sounds perfectly.

"Are you scared, Betty-chan?" he asked, caressing the polished metal of the motorcycle's body. Even she needed affection and reassurance, sometimes. Johnson Smith knew that not everyone had the courage and nerves of steel like Johnson Smith. That, too, was a curse! Woe was Johnson Smith, truly.

Some more noises: Betty spoke with a certain level of, what was the word - she sounded like she was bored. Ah, was that the problem? There was no engine issue: simply the fact she wanted excitement in her life. Rolling around the empty fields doing little was no life.

"Oh, Betty-chan, naruhoudo," Johnson Smith said, chuckling just a little bit, as would a pretty boy from a shounen story. "I know how you feel," he assured her, "but we're heroes! We have to do even these little tasks: for our people!"

Betty gave a sigh - or whatever sound could be done by a motorcycle to represent a sigh, something entirely possible in the realm of this setting - because she knew that Johnson Smith was absolutely right. They were pillars of strength, of justice, of perfection. Who else would protect the people, if they didn't? And the two of them were a team: where Johnson Smith went, Betty followed.

"I feel the same way, Betty-chan," Johnson Smith said with a shake of his head. "But you know now, don't you? We have to save the people from this forest!"

And so, with this settled, the two of them turned to the forest. Yes, it certainly looked bland: basic brown trunks, leaves of varying shades of greens. The only thing that was different was the fog: now, that fog, it did look a little bizarre. Johnson Smith had seen fog before, of course - Johnson Smith had seen everything, after all - but this kind of fog?

"I think I understand, Betty-chan," Johnson Smith said as he looked over the fog. Yes: perhaps he truly was the only hero who could deal with this.

Of course, he had no idea what was waiting for him inside that forest and through that fog. But Johnson Smith was a legend: and legends didn't wait around. Legends dashed right into danger! And it was that courage that made Johnson Smith a legend like no other.

"Alright!" he cried triumphantly as he got right back onto Betty. "Betty-chan, gambayo! We have an entire world to save from this malicious, evil fog!"

With a mighty roar of her engine and a rise much like a horse, Betty rumbled onward, Johnson Smith on her back.
