There it was! Spotting the egg, Pup shifted the stick in her mouth to serve more like a lance, before charging at her egg. Unfortunately, she forgot to watch for the current. The egg was barely speared on the driftwood before the current swept the Kuni (and almost the stick) towards shore. Wait, a current heading TOWARDS shore? That was a new one.

Naomi darted after the Kuni. She was way too slow. Her compartments began to refill with steelpollen. It was great stuff. She turned around, swimming in cicles and fanning her wings to create a mini-whirlpool. She sighed. She doubted unscrewing her hands again would help.

Her wings began to dry, and the fearful cold that surged through her body was replaced with the stiff crackling of salt. That and her muscles together contributed to that seizing feeling. Fighting against the waves didn't help, either.

Yumiko panted as her muscles tightened with strain. "I should have kept that stupid piece of driftwood," she sighed, flicking her tails through the water stiffly. It wouldn't be long until she could touch the bottom, however. Just a few more yards, perhaps more. "I've almost forgotten what land feels like!" she laughed jokingly.

Finally there! The Paragon dove his head under the water, and just as expected saw the egg he'd been looking for. Snapping up quickly, he pulled his head up and looked for yet another egg to pursue. He wasn't sure which one to try to go after now but decided to just pick. Egg #21.

A sea of floating eggs was bouncing around her body now. But, not having announced any of them, she couldn't grab them. She felt the temptation, though!

She was close to that first egg, and the shore, though. She'd be there soon.

The black Lucain glanced back at the eggs between her wingblades to make sure they were still there. Reassured, she continued to paddle at a steady pace. "I think I'm almost there," Yumiko panted, folding her ears back as wind buffeted her face. The cool breeze felt good on her heat-conducting fur.

ooc: In my last post I forgot to put that I'd captured egg 28, but I'd done all the posts and I put up a new egg number. After that Rebel_the_Proud posted saying their paragon had captured the egg. Who does the egg go to?

The kuni squeaked and shot off, but still being dizzy he ended up running right into Dimas! The kuni made a sound equivalent to a sigh, giving in. Was the game really over? But, but he wanted to play some more! Hey, hey you, furry thing. Wanna’ keep playing?

Yumiko grinned as she saw familiar flashes of bright color in the water; she was at the place where the coral reef was. "I must be getting really close to egg 14," she mused, smiling as a bright blue fish swam around her. Careful not to tread on the fragile coral, she continued to swim forward with determination in her eyes.

Pup adjusted her grip on the stick, trying to keep a firm hold on it as she drifted away. She didn't pay much attention to the ocean scenery she was passing, as she tried to figure out how to escape. She sprang sideways out of the current. It ended up more like hitting a wall of water as she was tugged back into it.

With a few graceful flicks, Zeta glided over to the clearer, shallower area. It was nice in a way, to be back in the open part. She didn't have to worry about bumping into anything or destroying valuable habitats here. Her paw still stung slightly from the nip, but she'd deal.

It was easier to spot the eggs here too. Watching it bob gently on the waves for a while, Zeta attached it to the other bobbing eggs. She watched amused as they bobbed in time, looking like some snaking sea creature. Then she remembered that this was in fact an event, and she should probably focus on her next goal.

Hadn't egg #6 been around here? She might as well grab it while she was close

Sukuza hit the water with her wings. She remembered that the egg she chose was taken so she decided to go for another one. She swam at a steady pace it get the egg she could see barely at a distance.

"Lo sentimos a pescado, sorry Fishy," he patted the kuni gently on the head. He was in a contest, and even though the game was fun and he was sorry it was over he still had to compete in the contest. Maybe he would see the little kuni again. He wanted to come back, he liked the coast, it was pretty. he had to find another egg to go after and decided on an easy one. Number 26 seemed like a good one so he decided on that egg.

Dimas said goodbye to the kuni again and started off toward the coral once again. It was quite a distance so he'd have to hurry if he wanted to get there before any of the others. There probably weren't that many eggs left to get.

Disappointment showed on the Kuni's face, but she had to try again. This time, instead of going sideways, she dashed down, swimming with all her might. The current caught her tail for a moment, refusing to let it go, but finally she popped out of it. Pup wriggled her body, blinking, before swimming off. The water had gotten very shallow; there must be more eggs coming up.
