Welcome to the Dead Coast, home to the world's largest bucket of salt! Located nearest the Re'nee Sea, this small port-city is home for all opportunists who would gather the sea's salt deposits left on the shores and sell them for profit. (+2 to Endurance)

The light and the dark [self-rp]

The sea breeze carried the scents of the salt water towards the two creatures walking side by side. The smaller of the two was a white mare with horns running down her neck, one breaking through her pale blue forelock. The small tufts of fur that appeared at the base of her spine and the beginning of her tail quivered with every step she took, her long, serpent-like tail hanging low, dragging in the sand behind her. Her companion, whom was slightly larger than her, had a coat as black as night, eyes redder than a pure ruby, and what seemed to be skulls dancing in his mane and tail. It was an odd sight, to see such different creatures being next to each other, both representing the opposite of the other. The mare paused, sniffing at the breeze, before she looked to her companion.

"You're not thinking of what I think you're thinking," the darker equine muttered, the mare sending him a look of surprise. She shook her head quickly, but the sight of freedom was making her heart ache. She hated being owned and wanted the freedom to run in the open spaces of the world, to not worry about where she was going to be sleeping at night or what time to return home. The freedom to just be her, without any worries. No one could understand that, which was why she had to have an escort, one that could stop her from her escape to the wild. Today, it was Akumu, probably one of the strongest equine-like creatures that resided in the stables. He wasn't the fastest, no, Momiji held that title, but he could definitely out run her. Akarui watched as Akumu resumed walking and she snorted in annoyance. She waited till he was a good twenty feet in front of her before she resumed her own walk.

This beach was calming. Any thoughts of distress or escape vanished from her mind and she had the want to just relax. The breeze blew again, colder than the last one. Winter had settled in, and even here, one could feel the chill, though snow was probably not an option as this area was so close to the sea. Then again, who knew? Akumu looked back to see if Akarui was following, and was a little less tense as he saw her following. He wasn't the most talkative person, but he was having the same thoughts she was having. The need to relax.

The Garden was so crazy nowadays, with the new creatures from the recent months pouring in. So far, everyone had been surprised by the undead things walking around, but Akumu was probably the first to have gotten so used to them. Luckily, the property was so spaced out, he rarely saw anyone new, as they were too busy exploring their new home. Akumu stopped, the sand under his hooves harder here. He looked down and noticed the build up of salt. Well, this was the place for collecting salt and selling it. Akarui seemed interested in the salt at his feet, as she approached faster to see why he stopped. She bent her head down and sniffed, only to pull her head up quickly. "You're hooves smell horrible," she muttered.

Akumu lifted up his right foreleg and glanced down at his hoof. A build up of muck had taken over and he just glanced at his partner. "Oh well...thankfully the ocean is right there, hm?" he replied, trotting over to the sea. Once his hooves touched the water, he launched himself into the waves, Akarui watching him with slight amusement. He was very introverted, so seeing him in a state where he was showing emotion was rare. He jumped through the waves, tossing his head to the sky, standing up on his hind legs and kicking out with his forelegs. It was a funny sight, at how such a person could behave randomly. Akarui felt the urge to join him, to let go, but she waited for him to be done with his moment of bliss.

Akumu splashed through the water, not caring that it was freezing. The cold never really bothered him for some reason, he almost welcomed it sometimes. He noticed Akarui standing there, looking a bit lost and confused. He had a feeling she wanted to join him, but he wasn't going to rush her. She'd come in on her own time. The stallion jumped back onto shore, shaking his pelt out, his breathing a tad hard, but exhaustion was another thing to him. He composed himself again, like that whole scene that he had just displayed had never happened. Akarui would surely best forget this. He knew she wouldn't mention it to anyone anyways, seeing as she never talked too much at home. Especially with the human around; she tended to stay really quiet whenever that girl came around. He didn't know why, but something that had to do with her "capture" as she called it. He kind of liked the human, almost to the point of actually cooperating with her sometimes, but she left him alone and tended to force herself upon Akarui instead.

He watched as the girl struggled to bond with the Penticorn but to no avail, and it was a sad sight to watch sometimes, but the girl was very persistent. Which could be why Akarui was always annoyed with her. Humans never learn, do they? He pawed at the salty sand, which caught the mare's attention. Akarui stared at Akumu, tilting her head. What did he want now. "I want to know why you and Leaftail don't get along," he said and Akarui stared at him. Her stare was full of curiosity, as well as slight annoyance. "I am not going to answer that," she replied, before she started off again, at a brisk trot. Akumu rolled his eyes and followed her, catching up quicker than she expected. Was he not going to let this go? No, he wasn't. The look on his face indicated he was going to ask more and she stopped again, staring at him. "Keep your mouth shut," she muttered, half-rearing up on her hind legs, ready to kick out if she had to. He was seriously annoying her.

Akumu backed away from the mare, his ears laying flat against his skull, snorting as he decided to venture back into the waves. He raced in, the cold water hitting him hard. It seemed to wash away his anger, and he was joined by Akarui a few seconds later. The white mare ran along the shore line, the cold keeping her out of the water, but soon she found her courage and raced in. Akumu watched as she went in deeper, till the water came up to her chest, the water more calm as the distance from shore increased. She stood there, staring out at the horizon, and he wondered what was going through her mind. Another wave broke against him, drenching his black coat in a layer of salt. He shook his head and neck, salt flying into the air, and jumped over the next wave, as hard as it was, and came up beside her.

Akarui glanced at Akumu, snorting at him. Just because they were out here together didn't mean they had to be talking to one another. She started to move away, but Akumu reached down and grabbed some of her mane in his teeth, pulling her hair in the opposite direction. She let out a loud neigh and stared at her companion, hate filling her eyes. "Tell me!" he said, mouth full of her blue mane. "No!" She said, pulling in the opposite direction, but the light pain made her stop in no time. An amused grin spread across Akumu's face, and Akarui slapped her tail against the water, spraying the stallion with salt water. He still had her hair in his mouth, not going to let go for awhile. At least, till she caved and talked, or till she pulled the hair out of his mouth or out of her.
