Never again, Gizmo snarled at the helicopter behind him as he flew through the gale, dodging large waves. The chopper was hit yet again with a piece of metal, and was still standing.

"Damn!" he snarled, and swooped out of the way of a wave. He turned his head for a split second, only a second, before he turned back to be hit by a 40 ft wave. He squeezed his eyes shut as the water engulfed him.

Air bubbles spewed everywhere as he was thrashed about in the stormy water. Another wave crashed down on his head as he was tossed in the air. Gizmo looked up out of the water. The chopper was obliterated.
He smiled. They deserved a horrible death.

At least they'll be sentenced to hell as well as I will be, he thought. His eyes fluttered, and he sunk lower in the wild ocean. His mind faded as he closed his wings around himself. Finally... he smiled gently. Death will come to me after so long... His smile faded as his systems closed themselves off, and his world faded to black.

HahLee shrieked and ran as large waves pounded the shore. The wind tossed her aside like a rag doll as she ran for her life. She grunted as she hit the cliff side.

"Eh...." she sighed and crawled alongside the rocky surface. She finally reached a large rock to hide behind. It had a tiny crack in it, and she gracefully slipped inside. "Thank Trimuvirate," she sighed and huddled down in the warm sand.

HahLee laid there for a long time before A ray of sunshine peaked into her hole. She looked up with a smile. She scrambled out of her hiding spot and soaked in the sunshine. She shook out her fur and turned to return to the tide pool she was at.

She froze as she saw a big hunking piece of colorful metals. She gulped and slowly approached the huge thing. It was a clockwork Hollowheart!!! HahLee gasped. She sneezed from shock and accidentally turned into human form from the jolt. She covered her mouth and stilled in fear.

Gizmo's systems flicked on and his eyes popped open when HahLee sneezed. He looked over at the other being. "Hu.... man..." he snarled quietly. He opened his wings and slowly creaked onto his feet.

"What do you... want?" he huffed as his systems worked up to normal power. He lashed his tail and glared at the human. He flapped his wings slightly and caused a breeze. Gizmo narrowed his glowing eyes.

I thought all of the scientists were dead... he thought as he stepped forward slightly. He saw fear in the human's eyes. Perfect...

"Nononononnononononono!!" HahLee exclaimed as she scrambled up to avoid the Hollowheart's tail. "This must be a mistake!" HahLee hiccupped from fear and flicked back to her Langerine form.

"See?" she squeaked in desperation. She ran over to a rock and stood on it. "I just wanted to see if you were okay!!" She put her paws over her head and whimpered, preparing for the worst.

Holy Riousima, she cried in her head. Help me!!!

Gizmo tilted his head in confusion. "You're not one of the scientists..." he muttered. He limped over to HahLee and sniffed her, just to make sure. He stood up and looked down at the smaller than normal Langerine.

"Good," he smiled, embarrassed. "I'm Gizmo. Nice to meet you." He stuck out his hand, his claws glinting in the sunlight.

HahLee jumped as the claw came to her. "Eh-" she gasped, putting her tail in front of her. She then sighed and put down her tail.

"HahLee," she managed her name as she stuck out her tiny paw. Gizmo laughed quietly and stuck out a single claw and touched it to her paw. She smiled. He seems really nice, she thought in surprise as she noticed the sun glinting off his metallic armor.

Gizmo gently lowered his claw. "What were you doing out in the storm, anyway, HahLee?" he asked with a look down. "Seems mighty dangerous for the likes of you," he smiled.

Gizmo looked over at the stormclouds floating out to sea. There was a faint glow of fire in the ocean. He smiled and sighed, relieved.

HahLee smiled as she began to explain. "I left my home to look for something to bring back to my family to munch on later, when the storm began. It was crazy!! I got blown around really hard, and I thought I was gonna die!" She shivered at recalling the memory.

Gizmo stifled a laugh. What an erratic story teller this one is. He flicked a crab off his wrist. The wave swallowed it up and washed over his claw, but no feeling came from this pleasing gesture. No. . . life. . . the thought shook his soul. If I had a soul. These thoughts were coming form somewhere other than his mind. He had refused to listen to such thoughts voice back at the lab, always focusing on escaping. This voice seemed different though. He then realized he had created an awkward silence by thinking for so long.
