Cay sat on the rocky edge of the cliff watching the waters lap up the sides of the stone. Foam licked up the sides of the rock looking as if it was trying to reach up and eat his toes. Cay shuffled backwards back on the rock. He didn't feel like getting wet this morning. He rested his head on his paws and watched the colors of the sun rise creep slowly across the sky all of them beginning to fade into sky blue. He liked coming out here in the mornings when no one else was around. It made him feel like he was the only living thing in the world.

[Kitsumi]

Ooc: Gah! So sorry I totally forgot about this. *slaps forehead* I'll try to make up for it by being on and replying as often as I can!

Hollowheart saw no reason for him to be around anymore. Even his own family didn't want anything to do with him! It was because he was different; he had heard them discussing it when they thought he was fast asleep and unable to hear them. But he had heard every whispered word. About how he was bigger, clumsier, and harder to take care of. So now, what was he supposed to do? Where was he supposed to go? His family didn't want him, obviously. And he had no friends either. He looked at the water foaming beneath him, and sighed. He wished he could just jump in, and let the tide carry him away. But he wasn't a very good swimmer, so that wouldn't be a very good idea.

[Sitara]

OOC: It's not a problem. This is the first day that I've been able to be on in a week, so no worries.

IC: Cay's ears perked as he heard foot steps coming towards him. He carefully walked backwards from the edge of the cliff until he had enough space to turn around and walk normally towards the larger figure coming up towards him. He seemed very large and impressive, and those bat wings were something else. He always had a fascination with the more... macabre things in life.  The closer he came to him the more intrigued he was. he had never seen, well, anything like him before.

[Kitsumi]

Hollowheart's ears swiveled at the sound of someing approaching. He turned, and saw another kuhna, this one of normal proportions, however, heading towards him. Suddenly feeling more desperate for companionship than ever before, Hollow decided to attempt speaking.
"Greetings," he said in his low, almost seductive voice. "It is beautiful today, is it not?" He gestured with his tail to the area around him. He tried to bunch himself up, appearing smaller, less intimidating. He didn't want to scare this person off.

[Sitara]

Cay looked up at the lakundra's impressive size. He was slightly taken aback at his stature even though he saw that he was a larger creature when he first came towards him. He hoped that eventually he would grow to this size. "Yes it is quite lovely out." What an unusual creature and yet he seemed so unsure of himself. How odd with a stature like that wouldn't he stand tall and proud. Perhaps he needed some time to grow into his skin, as the saying goes. Cay flicked his tail to the side and cocked his head to the other. "So what brings you out to the sea today?"

[Kitsumi]

There was a slight pause as Hollowheart debated on his answer. The truth certainly wouldn't do. If he were to say, 'Oh, my parents are sick of me, so I came here debating throwing myself over the edge' well, he was likely to scare this other kuhna off. So instead, he said simply, "I wanted to see the view. I've always loved this place."
Suddenly realizing that he was being rude by now allowing the other kuhna to know his name, he gave an awkward attempt at a bow, which almost succeeded in throwing him off balance. His face reddening in embarrassment, he said, "My name is Hollowheart, or Hollow, if you prefer."

[Sitara]

He chose to overlook Hollow's clumsy moment and answer in return. "Hollow huh. An interesting name, my name is Cay." He gave a short bow. "I must say I have never met anyone like you before." He scanned Hollow up and down with interest. "I know this is a tad forward, but can you sit and chat for a while? I'd love to learn more about your heritage." If he could find out his linage maybe he would know what type of mate to seek out so his children could have those amazing wings.

[Kitsumi]

"Cay. That's a nice name." Hollow repeated the name, tasting it on his tongue. "Cay..."
When Cay mentioned never meeting anyone like him before, Hollow hung his head for a moment. Of course he hadn't met anyone like him. He was a freak! But then he was startled by the realization - Cay meant it as a compliment! Hollow could tell by the way Cay's eyes traveled up and down him.
"Well, I'm quite flattered." Hollow replied honestly. "Most people think that I am actually a nuisance, a 'freak of nature' if you will. I don't talk to very many people often. I would love to chat." Hollow smiled as he seated himself on the ground, gesturing for Cay to sit across from him.
"As for my lineage, I'm sure you are familiar with the different breeds of kuhna, yes?" Without waiting for an answer, he pressed on. "Well, I am a Jailer Lakundra. My father is Morte, a headless kuhna, and my mother is Shadow, who has sulkuhna genes. And you? I deeply admire the turquoise in your pelt. Who were your parents, if I might be so bold as to ask?"

[Sitara]

"A freak of nature?!" Cay was astounded that anyone would find him a nuisance. "Pish posh, you are fine as you are." He sat down next to Hollow. "I wish that I could be your size. It's impressive." He sighed at looked out towards the sea as Hollow asked about his history. His parents... he hadn't thought of them in a very long time. He wished he knew more about them, more about his family. "My parents were both Elder Kuhnas. None of my siblings ended up looking like me and we don't look like either of our parents. I think they had some odd genetics, I'm still looking into it."

Embarrassed, Hollow was shocked to realize that he was blushing! "Well, thank you. I have to admit, my size can be somewhat of a burden at times. I tend to be a bit more clumzy than your average kuhna. But I suppose I see how it could be a good thing as well." He paused as Cay told him of his lineage. "Yes, I do believe that there is something special about their genetics. I'm usually not interested in things like that though." He added the last bit honestly. "But for once, it seems a bit interesting to me."

[Sitara]

"Yes, I don't know much about the science behind what makes me... well, me either. But I wish I knew more of my background than I do now." He had never known his parents or the rest of his family. Somehow they had gotten separated when he was younger and he had grown up in an orphanage. All he had was a very old photo of his family posing together just after everyone's fur came in. He hoped that someday that he would find everyone again, but he knew that it was a very slim chance. "So what things interest you? The main things I enjoy are books, the sea, and the occult."

[Kitsumi]

What interested him? Hollow had to think about that for a moment. To be completely honest, he spent so much time alone, just wandering, that he had never really had the chance to explore his interests. "Well, I suppose beautiful scenery kind of draws me to it." he admitted finally. "I'd like to get into photography someday. Other than that...I honestly don't know. I tend to wander around alot. I don't spend a lot of time doing stuff I enjoy. I don't even know what I enjoy doing!"

[Sitara]

"Well we must remedy this." He hops up excited about what he was going to propose. "I propose an adventure of sorts around town. The adventure of discovering Hollow." The title had a nice ring to it. Oh the things that Cay would think of on the fly. "We'll go down to the fish markets and shops in town here and discover what it is that makes you... you." With a flick of his tail he turned down the cliffway towards the town. "I won't take no for an answer. We have adventuring afoot."

[Kitsumi]

Chuckling slightly at Cay's enthusiasm, Hollow smiled from ear to ear. "Well, I could never say no to that. It actually sounds quite interesting to me." He followed the smaller kuhna, pausing slightly. "I'm just a slight bit worried about what the people there will think about me. Especially if I end up tearing up the town with my clumsiness!" He smirked. "It's been known to happen, you know."

[Sitara]

"If anything happens we'll just run for it and hide until the smoke clears." Cay continued walking down the street. "But I'm sure that you won't cause a problem and we'll stay away from fine china shops just to be safe." Cay gave Hollow a grin and continued down the street when he smelled one of his favorite dishes at a near by fish stand. "I think that before we start this adventure of ours we should have some breakfast, my treat." He jumped up onto the counter and flagged down the merchant slicing fish behind the counter. "Hello there. I would like a large portion of roasted squid please, and what would you like Hollow?"
