Does the Sun Make You Crazy? {P; Atoli and I PG-13}

Postby auntslappy282 » 06/29/2011 12:28 AM

After another long and tiring journey, we finally made it to our next destination. It was hot and miserable here, but none the less, it was still cool because it was by the ocean. I stretched. I was really rather hungry. Once again, we finished off all of the food we had taken on the journey, which was fine by me. I looked around a little happy to finally be here. "So where does your grandma live? And whose gonna meet us?" My stomach growled rather loudly.

"I guess the first thing we need to do is get something to eat. I'm rather hungry to day the least," I said with a laugh. I looked around. There was a nice little area around the beach with plenty of food. I looked around. Nothing really sounded good, so I'd let Karin decide. "Where do ya wanna go to eat?" I asked.

Just like when we first arrived at Aldrect, I was absolutely thrilled. I mean, how could you not be in a place like this?! It was absolutely beautiful here, not to mention that it was the first time I had actually seen the ocean in person. I looked over at Neku when he had started talking and shrugged. "I actually have no idea, haha. Well mama said grandma said to wait by the rocks on the beach. Although... I actually have no clue who's coming." I sighed and scratched my head, rather confused. It was just like grandma to try to confuse us. And her attempts were working, too.

"Well, we'll wait by the rocks after we get something to eat," I said, laughing a bit when Neku's stomach growled. Come to think of it, I was a bit hungry as well. I would need more blood in a day or two, too. I was actually getting better about that, although I surely didn't feel any less guilty. "Hrm... where to eat, where to eat. How about... that one?" I pointed to a nice looking Italian restaurant not too far from us with a smile. Hopefully it wouldn't cost all that much. Then again, I had a feeling everything here was going to cost a lot.

Dreaming at daybreak, creeping at dawn.

Still I'll scream into the sky, hoping that somebody will find me.
I want to run, but there's no way out--
No bright future in sight.
But I still fly up like a butterfly, hoping that you'll find me.

I nodded in reply to her comment. So I guess wait at some mysterious rocks and wait eh? Fun? No. I sighed slightly. I looked at the restaurant she was pointing at. I hesitated slightly, then nodded. "Well considering the fact we'll probably get our other meals paid for us, or theirs a good chance for it, and I'll be looking for a job here, so we should be fine yeah," I said. I started heading inside the restaurant.

It wasn't as fancy as I feared, which was always good. "Table for two?" The man at the front asked. I nodded in reply. He smiled and took us to a table. I sat down and looked through the menu. I did like Italian food, I just didn't get it a lot because of the fact that it was usually expensive, and I never wanted to spend the money on just myself. A female waiter walked over. "Hello! I'm Missy and I will be your waiter. What can I get you to drink?" She asked. "I'll have an iced tea," I said with a smile. I was getting an odd feeling like someone was watching us.

((Hehe. Bet you can guess who~ XD))

I grinned at Neku when he had agreed to the restaurant. I mean, I didn't want him to spend a lot of money, but like he said, we would probably get everything paid for for us while we were here. I couldn't imagine my grandma not paying for us, considering our family was better off than most. We weren't rich or anything, but we still had more than enough money to support everyone. That, and we didn't buy all that much.

I couldn't help but smile a little when we walked into the restaurant. I could smell all the food cooking and trust me, it smelled really good. It was just making me even more hungry! I looked over at the waiter when she asked for our drink orders and smiled. "Um... I'll have just have a Sprite please." Once she left, I glanced down at the menu and let out a sigh of relief. The food wasn't an outrageous amount, but it wasn't the cheapest I had seen, either.

I looked over the menu. The only thing that really caught my eye was the Fettuccine Alfredo. I thought getting it with shrimp would be good, and it only cost another 55 cents. I looked over the menu again, and then the waiter came back with our drinks. I thanked her. "Are you guys ready to order yet?" She asked. "Not yet, give us another few minutes." She smiled and left. The feeling that someone was watching us kept growing more and more as time passed.

I ate my Alfredo quietly when a man and a girl walked into the restaurant. I would have normally ignored it as just another couple coming to eat at the beach, but something dragged me back to them. The boy... Was he a demon? Something seemed really really off about him... And the girl... She was defiantly a vampire. I could smell the slightly scent of blood on her. You could never get that off if you drank frequently. I tried to not watch their every move. I shifted slightly in my seat and continued to eat my pasta. I took a sip of my coke and continued with my business, though I kept an eye on them.

((Fwee~ Okay, so click on her image if you want to see her human form, and also, I'm gonna have her perspective along with Neku's for a while, because it'll be fun that way. :3 When they all settle down and become friends or something, I'll just stick with Neku's.))

I looked down at my menu, flipping through the several pages that were in there. After a couple minutes of browsing, I had finally lowered it down to spaghetti or Parmesan chicken. The chicken came with a little spaghetti on the side, but if I got the spaghetti it would be nothing but, well, spaghetti. I looked up at the waiter when she came over, but I was glad Neku said he needed more time. I did too.

I sighed and after a few minutes, just decided to go with the Parmesan chicken. I mean, a little variety was always good, right? And we would have noodles a lot more than we had chicken back at home, spaghetti especially. I took a couple more sips of my coke and looked over the menu one more time. Yeah, I knew what I was getting now.

I looked around the restaurant quickly just to see if anyone was watching us. I saw a girl, a blonde one, sitting alone, and she was a few tables away from us. I shifted oddly in my seat. The waiter came back, and asked, "You guys ready for me to take your order?" I nodded. "I'll have the Fettuccine Alfredo with Shrimp please,"  She smiled and then turned towards Karin to take her order. I took a slightly nervous sip of my iced tea.

I knew the boy was onto me. I mean, if he was a demon, he was smart for a demon. I looked around again and finished off my pasta. I needed to tell Layton this as soon as possible so we could make a move. I waited for the waiter to bring the bill around, and he quickly did so while taking my plate. I took another sip of my drink and then pulled out my wallet, slipping the credit card in it.

I glanced over at Neku and sensed something was off. It wasn't hard to tell with the aura he was giving out. Then again, it may have just been me, but still. "Hey Neku, what's wrong?" I would't be surprised if he didn't give me a straight answer, or heck, even any answer at all, but... I was snapped out of my train of thought by the waiter coming over. "I'll have Parmesan chicken, please and thank you!" I told her happily with a smile.

I glanced around the restaurant, just as Neku had, but there was nothing really out of the ordinary. Or at least, not that I could tell. Well, he was a heck of a lot more observant than I was. Well, whatever, I just wanted to get my food already. I mean, all of the traveling made me tired, which in turn, just ended up making me hungry too.

I rather absent mindedly heard what Karin said but didn't register what she said. I stifled a sigh of relief when I realized the person who was watching us was getting ready to leave soon. I watched silently out of the corned of my eye. If she tried to attack us or something, I would be ready. I searched through my pocket and touched a few of the pens that I had kept since the end of the game. They probably wouldn't work, but still.

The waiter came by and took the bill from my table. I observed the couple out of the corner of my eye, not making it too obvious. I finished off the rest of my coke. I was absolutely certain that the girl was a vampire. But a vampire who can go out in the daylight puzzled me slightly, I had to admit. Maybe the demon was hosting a spell or something. Was that kid actually a demon though? I sighed, a little confused.

"Heeeeeey, Neku~!" I waved my hand in front of his face, frowning a little. He was obviously thinking pretty hard about something or other. I would be terrific if I could just figure out what exactly that was, though. I took a couple more sips of my coke, looking up at him every few seconds, waiting for a reply. I wondered what exactly was bothering him, anyways. Either way, I just wanted the food to hurry up and get here. I was starving.

I was snapped out of my thoughts when Karin waved her hand in front of my face. I looked over at her and glared slightly. She really could be annoying if she wanted to couldn't she? "Yes Karin?" I asked with an eyebrow raised. Thankfully, the food got here rather quickly. I started eating it, still paying attention to the women though.

I practically spewed ice cubes everywhere when the vampire waved in front of the demons face to get his attention. It was just to funny. I couldn't believe that they were actually a couple. Well, I couldn't talk on the part of a vampire and human, but this dude wasn't human. I thanked the waiter when he brought me my card back and the check. I left him a tip and then got up to leave. Layton would have fun hearing about this.

I glared at him a little and rolled my eyes. "Were you paying attention to anything I was saying?" I was kind of annoyed at him, but I smiled and thanked the waiter when she brought the food to our table. I started eating my food happily, taking a sip of my coke every few minutes. After a little while longer, I looked back up at Neku and sighed. "As I was saying though, what's wrong? You looked kind of... out of it. Then again, you do that almost every single time we eat out. I'm guessing you're just going to say its nothing again, though?" I said, trying to keep my annoyance at him hidden.

"No Sorry. It's just... Theres someone watching us. Like intently like she knows something. She just left thankfully though," I said, taking a bite of my pasta. I was going over why she'd look at us like that. Does she know that Karin's a vampire? It could be possible I guess. Maybe... "Do you think she could know your a vampire?" I asked in a low tone.

I quickly left the restaurant and began heading down to the library. I had a fairly long walk to get there, but I was excited none the less. I hurried around the corners, barely paying attention to those who passed me. I was to excited to get slaying again. It had been awhile, and I was bored. I stopped in front of the library doors and took a deep breath.

My eyes widened at what Neku said. Know I'm a vampire? How? "I... I don't know. I know the Maakas used to be a pretty major vampire family back when my grandma was growing up, but that was hundreds of years ago. I know no human would be able to survive that long. Vampires were more well known back then, but its not really much of a story that would be passed on from generation to generation."

I put my arm up and let my head rest on my hand. I had heard stories of vampire hunters when I was smaller, but mama said they were all gone. Even if that girl did somehow know, she couldn't be dangerous or anything, right? But then it hit me. I knew humans didn't have a great sense of smell--me included--but that girl could have been an exception. "Neku, do I smell anything like blood?" I had taken a shower this morning, but I had drank some of Neku's blood yesterday.

I nodded at what she said an looked up slightly when she asked if she smelled like blood. Well, I could really only tell if I was in my Palwokee form, and I wasn't about to change into it. "No, I wouldn't say so. You did take a shower this morning, so you can't smell to much like blood if any. Maybe I'm just being paranoid..." I shrugged slightly. Maybe It was just paranoia. I had no clue. I continued eating my Alfredo with out another word.

I opened the door to the library rather excitedly. I was greeted by the happy face of Prof. Layton. "Hey Layton! I have good news! I've found a vampire for me to kill!" He looked up, an odd expression on his face. "Are you sure? You could just be mistaken," His British accent rather prominent. "Yes I'm sure! I could smell the blood on her! I even got her first name! Karin!" Layton nodded and began looking through the books. My excitement was building even more now.  I was looking forward to hunting again.
