I let go for a second and then went back over to Karin to help her stay afloat. She was actually doing fairly well considering this is the first time she has swam in a long time. I wrapped one of my arms around her waist and then used my other arm to paddle. "Follow along with my arm, and I wont let you drown okay?" I said with a smile.

I used my legs to keep us moving forward. I tried my hardest not to make her feel uncomfortable because, well, she needed to focus on her swimming. I kept us moving forward then turned slowly. I didn't want to go too deep yet. She wasn't ready for that yet either.

I looked over at him when he started talking and nodded slightly. "Hehe, thanks," I replied with a small smile. It was still kind of embarrassing that I didn't know how to swim. But then again, like Neku said, he didn't learn how to swim until a year ago, so it was okay, right? I did exactly as he said, smiling a little. I just wanted to be able to swim already.

I kept holding Karin and swimming along in the ocean. It was nice, I had to admit. I kept slowly releasing my grip as we went. I wanted to know how well she was getting. I finally let go of Karin just to see how well she would do on her own. I was still swimming next to her though, so I could help her is she needed help. I just hoped she would get the hang of it so she could surf with Maki.

I kept swimming, a small smile on my face. I had to admit though, I didn't even notice when Neku let go at first. It still took me a minute or two afterwards to notice, but when I did, my smile widened and I turned back to Neku. "Hehe, I did it! I did it!" I yelled out happily, swimming closer to him. I couldn't believe I had learned so fast, but hey, I had no complaints about it.

I laughed when Karin was so happy about being able to swim. My laugh quickly turned to a smile. "Great job! You're just one step closer to surfing!" I said with a laugh. I smiled again and just swam over to Karin and gave her a hug. I was rather proud of her I had to admit. I smiled again and then let go. "Great job! Really!"

I grinned at him, just happy that I could finally swim. And it was all thanks to him, too. It seemed like he was helping me out a lot lately. I mean, none of this, like, at all would have been possible without him. I smiled a little when he hugged me, and of course, I hugged him back. "Couldn't have done it without you, Neku! So... thanks!" I told him happily, still smiling. I just couldn't wait to learn how to surf now.

I smiled at her, and then let her go. "So the first thing too surfing is have a good state of balance. If your not balanced right, you end up falling over and hurting yourself. I'll probably surf with you if i can rent one from somewhere around here, which, I'm sure I could. So how does that sound?" I said with a smile. It was nice to just spend sometime with Karin on the beach, I had to admit.

"This is so disgusting!" I said with a grunt. I couldn't believe they were being all lovey dovey on the beach. It sickened me. The other vampire left to go get a something back home. Just me and Layton laid in the grass waiting for something to happen and for Aurora and Spike to join us. I sighed."I just wanna to kill something. Thats all," I said with a sigh. Layton chuckled slightly.

I couldn't help but laugh a little when he mentioned balance. "Seems we have something else we'll need to work on then, haha! Balance isn't exactly my middle name," I said, smiling a little. We got swimming down, so the next thing was surfing! I was sure I could learn that too, with enough patience and effort, of course. I had a weird feeling it was going to take a while for me to learn that. As in, a lot longer.

"Yo, Karin, Neku~!" I looked over at well, who else but Maki, but ended up almost getting hit in the face with a surfboard. "W-woah, watch it!" She simply laughed a little and climbed up to sit on her surfboard. "So~ How'd everything go? I'm taking it you can swim now, Karin?" I nodded at her question, smiling a little. "Alright, so who wants to surf? Or rather, learn how to surf. Come to think of it, do you know how to surf, Neku?"

I waved slightly at Maki as she came over. I nodded at her next question. "Yeah I learned how to surf. I was actually about to go find a rental one so I can ride with you guys. Know of anywhere?" I asked, walking out of the water slowly. I shook of my hair slightly and then looked around the beach. I saw a shack, but I wasn't sure weather or not it had surf boards.

I jumped up excitedly when I saw the other vampire come. I would look forward to killing them. I jumped onto my feet only to hear a laugh from Professor Layton. "Stay put till Aurora and Spike join us. Theres really no rush. Let them have there fun and be secure that no one is watching them," He said, his English accent showing. I sighed. "Fine." I sat down with a huff and then kept watching from the beach.

At Neku's reply, I smiled a little. Of course he would know how to surf. "Well hey, this way, I'll have two people teaching me, right?" I said happily, grinning a bit. Just another amazing day to add to my list for sure. Learning how to swim, hopefully surf too, and of course, whatever else might happen. "Hrm... a rental surfboard place... I have no idea, actually. I've never had to rent one, to be honest." Of course she had no clue. "So~ Who's up for some surfboard hunting?" I asked the two of them with a laugh. Maki nodded happily, and we both followed Neku out of the water.

Maki went and dropped her surfboard off by our towels, and grabbed me and Neku's. "You two need to dry off, right? Here." She threw the both of them at us, and I quickly dried off before throwing it back to her. Seemed that she went ahead and dried off while I wasn't looking or something.

I smiled at Karin's suggestion of going surfboard searching. I smiled and then got out of the water and followed suit. Dried off and flung the towel back at Maki. I stretched slightly and grabbed my shirt and threw it on, still slightly insecure of my skiny bones. I put everything back into my pockets and turned my music back on. I stretched and pointed at the shack I was looking at earlier. "Lets start there. It couldn't hurt to look," I said.

I watched anxiously as they got out of the water and dried off. I wanted to follow them, but I knew Layton wanted me to lie low. That would probably be the best idea for now. Well until Aurora and Spike come I mean. I stretched and yawned, waiting for a time to strike.

I looked over at Neku and over to the shack he pointed at, nodding slightly. I wasn't about to put my clothes on back over my bathing suit, with how wet I was still. But I still didn't quite like walking around in just a bikini. Either way, I just wanted to learn how to surf already. I mean, I had gotten swimming down really quickly, so surfing could be the same way, right?

We started heading towards the shack, me in the lead. I would be expecting a place to get surfboards, at well, a beach. I looked around as we went, just minding my own business, not really paying attention. Once we got there however, I noticed the life guard from before talking to the man behind the counter. I saw a few surf boards, and some that said rent next to them. I stayed towards the wall, not wanting to see this man or have eye contact.

I heard a shift as I was looking at the rental surf boards. I heard a voice say something and I looked up, only to see the life guard from earlier. He had a smile on his face, and then just laughed slightly. I smiled slightly and then went back to looking at the surf boards. "Ah, so you know how to surf eh? Make sure I don't need to get you out of the water okay? That would be embarrassin' for all parties involved," He said with a laugh and a slight pat on my back. "I'll make sure not to. Don't make me go fetching for you either." He scoffed slightly and then turned to face the girls. He obviously saw something he liked because he started walking over to the girls. I turned around and watched him.

He stopped at Maki, and then smiled, leaning slightly against a rack of surf boards. "So, hows the weather treatin' you beautiful?" He asked her, a smile slick on his face, moving further and further across his mouth. I face palmed and grabbed a surf board, and headed towards the counter to go ahead and check out. The cashier smiled and then said, "So you guys friends with Spike?" He said, grabbing the surf board. "Nah, just acquaintances really," I said, handing the man the money I owed him.

I grinned a little at seeing the surf boards in the shack. Hey, we could surf now! Well, assuming that I learned how to surf today, that was. I wondered how much it costed to rent one of these things anyways. I shook off the though, just barely noticing when one of the lifeguards came in. Both me and Maki glared at him slightly at what he had said to Neku.

Once he started walking away, I turned around to watch him, only to see him walk over to Maki. I sighed and rolled my eyes at what he had said. Honestly? I was just glad he didn't decide to flirt with me. Maki didn't seem to appreciate his attempts though, as expected. "Come back to me when you get better pick up lines, okay? I honestly don't see what all the girls see in a guy like you," she said, leaning forward a bit and flicking his forehead. I couldn't help but laugh a little. "And can't you see I'm tan?"

I overheard Spike attempt to act cool, and had to laugh at him. It was just pathetic. I smiled and grabbed my surf board. I noticed he didn't bother trying to reply when Maki flicked him for said what she said at first, he just waited till afterwards to through a better pick up line at her. "Oh I couldn't tell, I was lost in your beautiful eyes," He said, his smile slowly decreasing off of his face. He could tell she wasn't interested, and to be frank, it was kind of pathetic.

I walked over, holding my surf board, and swung it, knocking Spike quickly to the floor. He landed face first on the ground, but quickly recovered, grabbing me by the collar. I smiled at him. "What are ya gonna do? Lick me?" I said with a slight laugh. Spike's grip tightened and then he gave a ghastly smile to me. "Just you wait. I'll get you kicked off the beach in a heart beat." I smiled even wider. "Good luck. You did start it remember?" His grasp tightened.

"Spike? Spike!" A girl with rather questionable fashion for the beach ran in and took Spike's hands off of me. However, I knew exactly who this was. Realization flashed in my eyes. They were the slayers friends. She smiled weakly and then said, "Oh please forgive him. He just likes getting in fights. He's really dumb that way," She said with a smile. Spike glared at her. "Aurora, Bad timing much?" He said with a glare. She whispered something into his ear and then smiled, and started heading out of the shack, Spike reluctantly following afterwards. I knew something was about that boy. So he was the slayers friend after all. And they were here, this conformed my doubts before.
