"Acrooo! Come baack!"

Was the only sound that could be heard on the Dead Coast as Isis, a Prismatic Tali, ran after his hyperactive friend. His rainbow coloures rippled in the sunlight as he ran, enjoying the feeling of the sand on the soft pads of his paws as he ran after her, eyes bright as he took in the surroundings. He looked ahead again to see that Acro's four, bright bobbing tails weren't there anymore. He skidded slower, searching for them, and saw that she had run into the sea. He smiled and ran after her.

"Acro! You remember why we're here?"

He called after her as the first small wave aproached the Prismatic Fenling ahead of him. She appeared not to have heard, but Isis knew her too well as to suspect that she was now racking her brains, trying to come up with an answer. After a few short moments, she shrugged to herself and turned around.

"Nope - aah!"

Acro cried out as the little wave washed over her. It barely came up to her ankles, but still the jumped and dashed back to Isis. Her eyes were bright as she jumped on him, and the two of them rolled over, their rainbow colours flashing as the water sprayed off of the Fenling. Soon they were both wet and covered in sand.

Isis jumped up and shook himself, covering Acro in yet more wet sand. She stood, not bothering to clean herself as Acro's face disappeared in a frenzy of licks.

"Well thanks, do the same for you sometime."

Acro drawled and sat down again, now that their little chase was over she was bored, as she often was. Acro was very easy to bore, but the glint came back in her eye as Isis looked up, worried. He had just gotten himself clean, and he knew that when Acro said something like that it would usually be followed by...

"No time like the present."

Isis had hardly taken his first step away when Acro started shaking, first showering all of the dirt on her onto her friend, then kicking up sand at him for good measure. Acro yelped and fled, stopping when he was out of her range. He turned and stuck his tounge out with a smile. Despite all of this, they were very close friends, and would do just about anything for each other.

Acro trotted over to Isis and gave him a friendly nudge, then suddenly jumped up, her four tails wagging, as they often did when she was excited.

"Hey, look, trees!"

She shouted, and made to run into the trees by the beach. Before she could go, Isis had placed a paw on one of her tails, stopping her from moving anywhere.

"Don't you remember?"

Seeing as Acro just looked at him in confusion, then sat on Isis's tail in defiance, she didn't remember a thing.

"Palmies!"

"Oh yeah! Hey look, Palmies!"

Acro shouted, pointing with a paw at the trees. Their leaves swayed innocently in the breeze, as Acro jumped up, finally freeing one of her tails from Isis's grip. She looked over to the trees, but didn't notice anything different about any of them. She now remembered Kiyala telling them that since they liked a challenge, they could go to this Coast and try to find a Palmie. Now, she remembered something else. That they were very shy. Well, these trees didn't look that shy. It seemed to her that they could just pluck any tree out of the ground. If only it was that simple.

"Don't you remember what Kiyala said? They're not all Palmies. There'll only be a few, and we've gotta find one."

Isis said, a determination in his voice. He knew that Acro didn't have a very long attention span, and could get bored easilly. Plans were already unfolding in his mind, for unlike his good friend, he could stick at something for hours, not pausing. If he could keep Acro occupied with a job, while he concentrated on the hard stuff, then they would be able to get the job done easilly. He remembered that they were very shy, and that they liked sea water. Also that they were quite small, and very good at concealing themself...

"Well how do we find it?"

Acro asked, cutting through his thoughts. She was standing up impatiently, eager to get going on finding this Palmie. Isis knew that it wouldn't last, but still, he should enjoy her enthusiasm while it lasted.

"Sea water. Wait, wait!"

Isis shouted as Acro dashed off towards the sea once more. He had known that Acro would want to get going as soon as possible, but also knew that once she got to the sea she would realise that she had nothing to carry it with. So, although he was tempted to just let her go off and find out her mistake, as it might just teach her a lesson on running of and rushing into things... no. He was in this project too, and he wanted to get a Palmie, so the faster they got it the better, no matter what lessons were and weren't learned.

"You need something to carry it in!"

Isis shouted after her, as she refused to turn back. He saw with satisfaction as she skidded to a halt, then turned around gracefully. She trotted back to him, passing him with her head held high as if she had done nothing wrong. She flashed a smile at Acro as she passed, then sped up, not really knowing where she was going, just knowing that she would have to get some kind of container, and wherever it was, it wasn't by the sea.

Acro had trotted about on the peir, looking for anything that she could take to Isis to carry water. At first, she had found a small stone bowl, and had tried to take it back to the beach, but had found that it was too heavy for her to carry. Then, she had tried to push it, but even then she could only manage a step or two and then her nose would start to hurt. Finally she had discarded the little bowl and moved on to look for something lighter.

A little while later Acro was standing by a bucket, wondering why there was water in it. She didn't know if it was sea water or normal water, but had decided that it was too heavy with water in it. She prodded it with a paw and jumped as she water splashed out. She nosed it, and to her dismay saw that there were little holes in the bottom. She took a last look around, and, seeing that there was nothing else in sight, decided that it would have to do. The water had stayed in when it was on the ground, so Isis would just have to... slide it along or something. Or just put a paw under it. Acro smiled to herself, and picked up the bucket in her teeth. It was quite light, so she was able to bound back to the beach easilly, a smile on her face.

Meanwhile, Isis wasn't having so much luck. He had first wandered around the edges of the trees, looking for something that resembled a Palmie, then when he realised that it wasn't going to work he had begun to explore inside the mini forest. He walked around aimlessly, sometimes stopping at trees that looked smaller than the rest, sometimes sniffing at them, then stopping. He had no idea how to find a Palmie, but he just knew that they liked sea water. If only Acro could hurry up with that container, then he could really start searching for this Palmie.

Isis sat down and looked around, realising that he didn't know where he was. He had no idea which direction he had come from, but that wouldn't matter anyway because he had made many twists and turns, following false Palmies in his search. He raised his head and howled, hoping that somehow Acro would hear, if she was looking for Isis. But surely, if she was looking for him, she would already have called?

Isis lowered his head and was silent. He'd just have to wait until Acro called him. Until then, he could do nothing.

"Iiiisis! Ohhh Isis! Where are yooou?"

The little Fenling called, sitting down on the sand outside the trees. She had seen the footprints of her friend leading into the trees, but through all of her haste she didn't want to wander about in the trees. She wanted to find a Palmie, but the truth was... they kinda scared her. She didn't know why, they were just so tall, so big, they could see everything, and to her it was more than a little creepy. Acro felt stupid with this fact, so she had decided she would just pretend she had been sensible and waited outside simply because she didn't want to get lost. It was a stupid idea, of course, I mean her, getting lost? It just didn't happen, but of course Isis didn't know that, so for now she would just wait here and call.

"Isis! I'm out here with a bucket, Isis! A bucket!"

She shouted proudly, and looked down to see where the bucket was. She had put it down so that her mouth was free to call him, and now... it was gone! She jumped up with a yelp, looking to see what could have taken it. She turned around with an angry snarl, then suddenly felt something wet on her back paws. Acro jumped in the air in suprise and fear, turning around as she did so to see that the waves were almost upon her. But that was impossible! The waves had been so far away before, so far... and now, the waves had stolen her bucket. She growled, and was pleased to see that the wave that had got her was retreating. Acro smiled to herself, but to her dismay another one was approaching, bigger than the first. She crouched low and growled, and watched as that one slowly got smaller. It's afraid of me! I can make it smaller! She thought with glee. As if reached her, it was tiny! And then, it ran back to the rest of the waves, where another one was preparing to take her on. With a growl, Acro ran at the sea, thinking that she could make the whole sea smaller, then make it retreat.

Acro ran into the first wave, but it merely came up to her ankled, then retreated. She watched as it overtook her back to the see, then gulped as she saw there was a huge wave, almost as big as her preparing. Acro stopped, and growled, confidently thinking it would shrink back. The hitch was that it didn't. It dashed against her, pulling her backwards and under as it raced to the shore. Poor Acro turned a full backwards flip in the water, moving back towards the shore, struggling all the way. She ended up face in the sand, then the wave around her started to pull her back to the sea. Acro yelped in panic, but was swept back to the sea, where another wave was ready to blast her back.

Meanwhile, Isis was running through the trees, dodging the plants that grew inbetween the great trunks, making towards where he had heard Acro. The problem was, she had stopped calling to him. She thinks I'm not here. He thought with annoyance, making towards where he thought he had heard her. He soon burst out of the greenery, and ended up splashing in water that was up to his ankles. But the tide was far out... the tide! It must be getting to high tide! Where's Acro? He thought in panic, then ran forward. The current wasn't strong, and it barely came up to his knees, at most. But Acro was smaller than he was, he thought in panic, and ran forward.

Suddenly, something caught his front leg. He must have stepped in something, and tried to slow down. But with one leg stuck and the waves running beneith him, it was kinda hard, and he ended up tumbling over, the thing he had stepped on still on his leg. Then, Isis collided with something furry and wet. He yelped and fell on it, as a particularly big wave crashed behind him and pushed him, the furry thing and the thing stuck on his leg, right back to shore.

Acro and Isis lay in a wet heap, the lost bucket on Isis's leg. He panted, then stood up with trouble, and at last shook it off.

"Hey, you found my bucket! I thought the waves had stolen it. They came right up close because they saw my bucket, I'm sure!"

Acro claimed, jumping up and nudging the bucket gleefully with her nose. She would have hated to have lost it, after going all that way to find it.

"No it didn't. The tide's coming in."

Isis said simply, sitting up and shaking himself. This time Acro didn't mind, as she was already too wet to care.

"Oh. I went looking for it. How did you get it?"

She asked, pulling it to her and almost sitting on it protectively.

"I kinda stepped on it. In it. Oh, well done for getting something to carry the water with anyway."

"Carry the... oh yeah. Palmie's, right?"

Isis sighed and looked at Acro in dispair.

"Yes, Acro. A Palmie."

He said with a roll of his eyes, and nodded towards the sea. The tide was still coming in, so it wouldn't be hard to fill the bucket up. Although it had just been in the sea, somehow the bucket was empty. Isis frowned and looked down into the bucket, noticing at last that there were a few tiny holes in it in which sand was pressing up into. So that was why there was no water in it. The bucket just had to be leaking, didn't it.

"Hey, it's not my fault! There was only one bucket, and it just had to have holes."

Acro said, noticing Isis's inspection of the bucket. He sighed and sat down in the sand, realising that this quest for a Palmie might take a lot longer than he had first expected it to be. First, getting lost in the forest of potential Palmies. Then, loosing the bucket. And now, finding the bucket again but in doing so realising that the bucket it a really bad bucket for water carrying.

"Off you go then."

Isis said, settling himself more comfortably in the sand and nodding to the sea. If Acro had chosen a bucket with holes in for carrying water, she would just have to demonstrate how someone actually did carry water in a holey bucket. Acro's mouth opened, then she realised she couldn't actually refuse his challenge without confirming that the bucket was useless. And there was no way that she was doing that. With a defiant sniff she picked up the bucket in her jaws, held her head high with her nose in the air, and started trotting down to the sea to fill the bucket up.

Isis stretched lazilly. Now let's watch the show. He thought to himself, and smiled as Acro leapt into the air with a yelp as the first, small wave touched her paws. She dropped the bucket, then went charging after it as it was swept out to sea, now not noticing the water swelling about her legs. The bucket rose on a wave that was about to break, and as Acro leapt for it the wave crashed down, slamming the bucket onto Acro's nose. She tumbled over in the spray, then stood up again and shook herself. She took a few steps back to avoid the water, then lowered her head and tugged at the bucket. It popped off of her nose and she picked it up again, exactly where she had started. This time, she raced into the sea, holding the bucket low. But she was holding it upright and the water wasn't high enough to flow into it. A wave loomed ahead, and she stopped, bracing herself and digging her claws into the sand. The wave washed over her, almost reaching her head, and although she was pushed back a little, leaving lines in the sand where her claws had been, the bucket actually had some water in it.

Acro jumped with excitment, and the bucket tipped as she almost let go of it. She steadied herself as some of the water washed over the side, then started racing back towards Isis. She'd forgotten, however, that the bucket had holes in it, and they were spraying out water. Her eyes widened in suprise and she put a paw under it, awkwardly hobbling forward. When she almost fell over and yet more water escaped, she tried a different approach. She put the bucket on the floor, and started pushing it along. But the water somehow still escaped, leaving a trail in the sand. Desperately, Acro turned the bucket over, trapping the water between the bucket and the sand. With one paw over the holes that were now on the top, she started pushing it back towards Isis. When she reached him, she smiled smuggly and tipped the bucket back up to reveal...

"Acro, there's no water inside."

Isis snorted and watched as Acro gasped and looked back at her path. There were the tracks where she had dragged the bucket, but further on there... was a wet patch. Where she had tipped the bucket over the water had been absorbed into the sand. Acro sat down with a wail, and Isis smiled, taking the bucket himself.

"Let me try."

And with that, he went racing down the beach towards the water.
