[Iahmes, Phyrrus][In human form]

Though he hadn't felt well since his pups' birth, Iahmes was finally recovered enough to at least be outside. In the haze that had been the past fifteen months he knew that his father and Achilles had both seen him, that his mother had tended to him, but he had woken alone with only his one pup a his side. The smallest of the males, though he cared sincerely for him. It had been surprising that Lasombra had been the one by his side, though she had gone off today to run some errands.

It left him to take little Phyrrus to the beach today, the toddler happily walking beside his father before running to the water to splash in it. Iahmes could only smile fondly. He and Achilles had met at the beach - and at least his son could enjoy the same place. He had been left with so many questions... But he had been so sick the entire pregnancy and after that none were answered. Achilles he hadn't seen since the pups were born, and his father soon after that. He wasn't yet strong enough to seek them out, but hopefully he would be soon. Phyrrus was old enough to take the trek with him.

The little pup seemed oblivious as ever to his father's plight. He was a happy lad at least, curious about the salt water, sitting in a little pool of it sun-warmed, poking at the surface where little fish peeked out and then flashed away. He squealed happily, turning as his father sat to join him. "Dada!" He leaned back against his father, splashing his feet into the water lightly.

Ajax-----------Jyn
Both human form

"In a sea, a sea! Nay, in an ocean will my people play.~"

Ajax wasn't comfortable with this at all. The Dead Coast was too in the open and the beach was even worse. Already his mentally unstable sister was earning them odd looks but it wasn't her he was worried about. It was everyone doing the looking. Any one of them could be another puppet for the False Gods just waiting to snatch her away completely.

But she had wanted to come here--insisted on it. Which in and of itself had Ajax on edge. Jyn never insisted to go anywhere from free will alone and because of that she rarely made requests at all. But the Dead Coast kept popping up in her maddened mutterings so he supposed it was his own morbid curiosity that had driven him to lead her here.

"No one is playing in the ocean...now what is it you've been going on and on about?"

Jyn looked at--or rather, through--Ajax and smiled in a rather unnerving way. The voice that followed was one he was familiar with--when she was all sing-song and nonsense it was truly his sister in there talking. But when that same voice became rather cryptic riddles and oracle mumbling, the False Gods were speaking through her. Much like they were now.

"Oceans bring renewal. Our renewal is near...seek the new blood." She said barely above a whisper with the eerie smile still plastered on her face. Ajax only sighed.

"There is no one out further than here but some guy and his kid." He had long given up reasoning with crazed deities. "So unless you suddenly got super powers to change the kid into a Firestarter, there's no new blood out here."

"Seek the new blood!" Jyn insisted, rushing forward to gather her brother's shirt between her fingers and pull them both dangerously close. "Unless..."

"Fine, we'll do it your way....HEY!" He called out, raising his hand and waving towards man and son who were otherwise enjoying a peaceful day. He didn't want to startle them, and they were still a good distance off, so maybe the warning they were coming over would be better received.
"I have been hidden, scorned, adored, worshiped, forsaken, coveted and banished more times than I care to count. But the one thing all those experiences cannot steal from me is the gentle soul I was born with, the kind heart I have molded, and the bright ideals for the future that have lit my way through the darkness of the past."

Even if it wasn't his intention, Iahmes was a little startled. He turned too suddenly to look at who was shouting, immediately pulling Phyrrus closer to him. He didn't recognize the two in front of him, and relaxed just a little as the toddler started to squirm, letting him splash in the water again. "Hello!" He called back out to the odd pair approaching. They looked similar, perhaps siblings... Maybe they were just after a nice day at the beach as well.

Phyrrus squirmed out of his father's hold, head tilting as he watched the two get closer, almost as if he was studying them. He was quite bright, of course having a vampiric lineage on either side helped with that. He developed faster than most his age, though he remained quite small. Moving out of his father's arms he walked a little closer on rather steady little legs, grasping at Ajax's pant leg as he got close enough. "You smell like my daddy."

Ohgod. Iahmes gave an almost pained look at his son. "Phyrrus. That is... Too much information for strangers."

"Not a stranger. He's your brother." The toddler looked so sure of himself with the revelation, smiling happily. He didn't seem to have any vampiric traits about him other than the intelligence, so perhaps he had been spared that particular curse. "Right? Caine is your daddy. That makes you my Uncle."

Well, not the reaction he was hoping for, but at least Ajax had gotten the man's attention. He supposed it was a bad idea to approach a single parent with a crazed sister...but he was moving despite everything that told him he should just stop. When the child began approaching Ajax simply raised an eyebrow and glared down at the boy who brought him to a stop as he clutched a pants leg. He...smelled like his father? Ajax's frown deepened.

"Excuse me?" He said at first, looking from child to father and back. Brothers? "Little boy, this is not my brother. My brother..."

The name that left little Phyrrus' lips stopped Ajax dead in his tracks. His eyes widened and pupils narrowed. He hated that name and the man it belonged to--the man who had sired him and left his mother a near-mindless zombie. He blamed Caine for all his misfortunes...all of Jyn's too...and he found himself snarling at the boy suddenly.

"What...what did you just say?" He said angrily. Jyn moved ahead of him; dropping to her knees to squeeze the young boy in a hug as she laughed.

"The child cometh! Seas shall part and run red in celebration!" Ajax's strong hand reached down to grip his sister's shoulder and try to pull her back.

"I don't care what you're telling her to do in there, but if Caine is involved you can forget it! I'd rather..." He bit his tongue at the last, knowing what they really wanted from him and knowing how desperately wrong it was on so many levels. He shot a look back to Iahmes. "If you are a son of Caine, you are no friend of ours. The man ruined our mother...our lives. I should kill you where you stand but...I won't be as heartless as him. The boy needs a father."

All of Ajax's anger was forgiven as he was hugged by Jyn. Phyrrus giggled happily, clutching at her and curiously touching her cheek. He hadn't met many people, and it was quite obvious he was still innocent. At the very least he seemed to carry none of the downfalls of Caine's lineage, mouth free of fangs and a happy smile on his lips.

"I'm so sorry, he doesn't know to not say such things." Iahmes nearly winced. He could hear the rage in Ajax's voice - and he hoped none of it would be directed towards them. There was no way he could fight off the other male, even if it meant his and his son's death.

"Look, Caine isn't involved in anything. Please don't mention him. He's my father, but... I don't have anything to do with him." He bit his lip slightly, trying to keep himself calm. "He took the rest of my pups. He and Achilles. If you hate him, I can only assume Jury is your mother. He.... Phyrrus is your nephew in more ways than one. Achilles is his sire, and you must be Ajax." He tried to explain, hoping Ajax may at least try to understand. Not all of Caine's sons revered him, didn't he know that?

"Please don't think all of your siblings are the same. He ruined my life just as much as yours. Most of our lives. My own mother lied to me about what she was, and I've ruined lives with a power I never thought I'd have."

Jyn looked to Iahmes as he spoke, her eyes still staring far away rather than at him, and she hugged the small boy closer.

"A brother, an uncle, all one in the same. Get any closer and we'd all share the same name.~" She laughed as she ruffled Phyrrus' hair. Ajax tightened his grip on his sister's shoulder but kept his gaze locked on Iahmes. His story sounded genuine enough and Caine certainly seemed the type to take away someone's children...but Achilles? Last he had spoken to his lost brother he hadn't figured him the type to run off with kids. That must be the vampiric heritage in him coming out.

"I have no problems not mentioned that damned name again." He answered gruffly. He tried to remind himself of the young child present...and to watch how he said things. He rarely had to do so with Jyn because she was so rarely all there to begin with. "We are children of Jury..and if you know my name then I assume there is no introduction needed for Jyn."

At hearing her name the young woman shot out a hand instinctively without really looking; she'd leave it there until it was giving a greeting shake. But she was still staring, and Ajax could only assume the False Gods were attentively waiting for Iahmes to tell them what kinds of powers he had.

"Our mother's lineage isn't free from torment either..." He answered carefully as his voice softened back to a normal gruffness. "...and the boy? Is he afflicted?"

Iahmes looked concerned for all of Jyn's odd language, but Phyrrus wasn't in trouble. He relaxed just a little, moving forward to take Jyn's hand as it was extended to him. He shook gently, a slight smile on his lips. These were his half-siblings, and they were family. He could trust (mostly) his family. Even though Caine and Achilles had run off with his pups they hadn't harmed them, that much he knew for sure.

"No, of course not. Nice to finally meet you Jyn. I uh, I heard about your litter from him." He murmured slightly, not wanting to talk much about Caine, but at least he did tell his children about all the others. "And Achilles. Talked a little of you."

Phyrrus laughed softly as his hair was ruffled, grasping at Jyn's hands. All the other talk seemed to go over his head at least - he probably was listening, but uninterested in the ramblings of the adults. Jyn was paying attention to him, and that was all he wanted right now.

"Unaffected as far as I can tell." The pale man smiled fondly at his son. "Smart, and growing fast. But he hasn't shown anything." Just a normal little boy. Maybe the convoluted blood of a vampire, goddess, and firestarter just canceled one other out. Vampirism showed its head at birth, so there would be none of that in his future.

Ajax was well aware how off-putting his sister's manner of speech could be, and quickly stepping in to deter Iahmes from whatever the man might have possibly been thinking of.

"It's when she starts making sense that you need to worry about her. Otherwise she's harmless." His tone wasn't meant to be one of reassurance, but the words were. And it was true, the only time Jyn spoke somewhat clearly happened to be when the False Gods were speaking through her. He could sympathize with the fact that she was cuddling his son but there was nothing he could do able that which would let his avoid causing a huge scene.

Ajax narrowed his eyes as he wondered what, exactly, his infamous sire had said of he and his siblings. Perhaps disappointed that there had only been two sons and three daughters. Lest he bring about his anger again he wasn't going to pry.

"A child; a father, a mother all in one. A boy in return, what fun, what fun!" This time Ajax raised his hand up to cover her mouth a little.

"I am pleased to hear the boy is without a trace thus far. Perhaps the lineage is finally growing weak." It was a happy thought--that perhaps should he ever have kids they would be unaffected by his past. Jyn...she would never have that chance. The False Gods had her too wrapped around their claws to ever have a hope of normal offspring.

The expression on Iahmes' face softened at Ajax's words. He hadn't meant to insinuate he didn't trust Jyn. It was just hard to relax with anyone around his son. "I know. I don't think either of you would hurt me, Ajax." Glancing to his half-brother's face he gave a slight smile. "I didn't hear much. Only of your names, a little of your mother. My mother was a fairly jealous woman." She didn't really want mentions of anyone else around her, even if she was willing to raise the pups as her own.

"Fun? Swimming is fun! Do you like the water?" Phyrrus giggled as he gently grasped Jyn's hand, trying to lead her towards the little pool of water he and his father had been sitting in front of. "Look, fishies." He pointed to the tiny silverfish in the water.

"It would be nice." Iahmes admitted with a soft sigh. "All I ever wanted for all of us was normal. Freedom from this curse. I wish I knew if my other pups were unaffected by all of this."

Ajax kept his facial expressions locked in place, the resting scowl unsettling to strangers but completely normal to those who knew the male. He wanted to relax, but it was hard when they were talking about some of his most hated topics. Of course Caine wouldn't have said much about them or the woman he had ruined...but at least he had taken the time to learn their names. "Understandable." Was all he could bring himself to answer.

"Life and light swim all around. Just keep swimming, just keep swimming.~" Jyn began in her nonsense sing-song as she let herself be lead away by the small boy. She ignored as Ajax tried to grab her arm and knelt down in front of the little tide pool with her nephew. The fish caught her eye and she continued to lean forward until she was almost touching the still waters with the tip of her nose. "A tisket a tasket...shall we gather some fishies in our basket?"

Ajax sighed and grumbled under his breathe, seeming overly anxious with his sister out of arms, reach. He focused only on her, though his words were clearly meant for Iahmes. "There are still some who have it worse...though for Jyn I must blame our mother." He said darkly. "Caine is good, but he's not that good. Your other pups could be found if you applied yourself to the task."

At least Phyrrus seemed to understand his Aunt. Or play along, he was so young he wouldn't know it wasn't a game. Just that this was family, and she wasn't going to hurt him. He wasn't as mistrustful as his father, but he didn't have a reason to be. His eyes hadn't even been open when his siblings had been taken. "We don't have a basket, auntie." He laughed quietly, watching the little fish dart around as her words made the water dance above them. "You like to eat fishies? Cousin Eden made me fishies for lunch yest'day."

Nodding slightly Iahmes' gaze rested on the two as well. They were mostly within arm's reach, he and Ajax could reach them within moments if something happened. It was just a protection thing, neither unused to having their little wards too far away. "I heard your mother's powers were almost as unstable as Caine's mind." A combination of both may have brought on Jyn and her dysfunction, and he hoped it was perhaps something that was fixable. There were Gods on Evelon who could help.

He spoke a little quieter, so Jyn and Phyrrus may not hear, or at the very least, not retain it. "Malkov is mated to a God. Perhaps he or his kin could help Jyn. Not that she is broken." He tried to rectify his words, expecting a sharp glare from Ajax at his words. "But heal her mind, perhaps break whatever madness that has its grips into her. They gave my barren brother pups, could they not help the rest of us?"

["No basket? Well then what good are our tisket and tasket?" Jyn hummed with an odd sigh, looking between Phyrrus and the silver fish that darted below them. The names seemed to mean nothing at first, though her pupils narrowed and dilated when he spoke of Eden's name. The False Gods stored the name away, and soon her eyes returned to normal. "A fishies feast, oh fishie feast. Shall we have a wishie, fishie feast?"

Ajax's already natural frown deepened slightly when Iahmes returned to speaking of his mother and of curing Jyn. "You fail to understand our full dilemma," he replied shortly, trying to contain his unhappiness. Iahmes knew not of what he spoke, he couldn't blame his half brother too much.

"Jyn is truly not herself. She is, as you see her now, a living puppet. The False Gods that created my mother's kind use her as their pawn to try and restart the bloodline. That is why she spouts nonsense and why you should take great heed when she begins making sense." He sighed, looking suddenly very tired. "I doubt another, God or not, could pull their hold from her. She has been this way since we were old enough to begin walking--it's been too many years gone."
